  1. That'll be why since rejoining the club last summer, Queen of the South's marquee signing (by kit size at least) has pushed them into the play-offs and played a key role in terrific cup runs. Much like his career as a whole, his gormless cameo at this level is notable only for a lack of credible success or achievements.
  2. We also got rid of him because he was entirely mediocre playing up front for us in the middle of the First Division, and we actually had under Allan Moore a genuine intention of competing for the title. Which is why in the summer of 2011 we upgraded and got Peter MacDonald on a free transfer to replace him - one of the club's rare, excellent dealings in the transfer market since Hal fucking Stewart left. Tl;Dr version: the 'we missed Lyle' wailing right now is the worst and lowest form of revisionism, completely unsupported by fact-based analysis.
  3. And yet he still wouldn't actually get on our bench, were everyone fit. Which is part of the reason why Duffy isn't remotely interested in signing this geriatric hotshot. Queen of the South are a far more open team than ourselves: their forwards therefore have an easier job scoring, while they also readily ship goals at the other end. Which is why The Famous were streets ahead of them last season with Ross Forbes as our top scorer, while the puffing failure Stephen Dobbie was banging them in for that rabble.
  4. Lyle is nearly 37, is finished, and looked as good as finished after his stint at The Famous. Reality has finally caught up with his bizarre coda to a career that should have plunged into the seaside leagues five years ago. If Lyle and Russell can keep Falkirk nailed in their play-off box then that's great. I'm very sceptical about that outcome though. Dumbarton would have been better off trying to sign Darryl Duffy instead IMO.
  5. Going by the first half today Duffy reckons only one central midfielder in a midfield three is required; can't see it working out for him then tbh.
  6. League Two isn't even close to "the lowest tier in English football". Swing and a miss Eric, you bitter old racist. And have a red dot for your troubles as well, DH.
  7. Forest Green are splashing the cash to upgrade their squad at the moment, so Sir Gavin will doubtlessly be coining it in down there. Not quite as much as Ed of course - who forced Britain out of the ERM in 1992 before creating Bitcoin - but we can't all be captains of the global currency market.
  8. Brian Wake. Thanks for playing anyway, champ.
  9. I doubt that any of them would be slated for being positionally crap, crap on the ball, and not even having an actual position on the park though. Actual 'fans of Pepper' would no doubt dispute those claims, so your qualifier was fake news of the lowest sort. I'm somewhere in the middle: it would surely take some time for Pepper to get back to match fitness from so long out of the game, but we definitely need at least competition and cover at right-back. Despite Duffy's claim when letting McManus go, we could also do with another option in midfield. Pepper can do both so it would be a decent addition to the squad.
  10. You're quite clearly not a 'fan of Pepper' then.
  11. It's remarkable how often the club manages to concoct a hilarious, tear-stained sense of injustice and gets the comfortable majority of the gormless fanbase to lap it up verbatim. 'Dundee FC' levels of scrutiny on display here.
  12. Thanks for that resounding endorsement. I don't have a 'Pan Slav thesis', and nobody is attempting to convince a fantasist like yourself. Using a pished jakey's ramblings as your only source explains why the above post turned into an absolute disaster for you. Swing and a miss, Eric.
  13. As I said, I've already pointed out the facts: if you're too gormless to comprehend them, then that's really not my problem champ. Better luck next time.
  14. ^^^ frothing, paranoid and delusional mess
  15. ^^^ word salad I have no need to spell out the perfectly obvious facts to you any further. The onus is on you to either explain how refusing to do your job doesn't constitute the same breach that applies in any other circumstance as an employee, or to pipe down with your gormless bluster.
  16. It is a fact that King Snake was "essentially in breach of his contract". I used a qualifier in the phrase for that precise reason: nobody has access to the legal documents. In 99.99% of cases, however, an employee failing to fulfil their role without a valid reason constitutes a breach of contract. The onus is therefore on his gormless backers - including the Lionel Hutzesque legal duo of yourself and Eric the loser - to show that King Snake was allowed to refuse to play football matches under a valid professional contract. Good luck with that one champ.
  17. Only an utter moron would expect a confidential agreement to be placed in the public domain: and so here we are, with you making an absolute cunt of yourself. Better luck next time.
  18. Refusing to do your job for no valid reason is a breach of contract under pretty much any circumstance. Fail. Just like your other failed white knighting campaign in support of the Cupar jakey. Sad!
  19. He acted in a completely unprofessional manner - not for the first time - and was essentially in breach of his contract at this once-proud football club. What happened after those facts is completely irrelevant: he is a horrible snake.
  20. That's all that was required from that post.
  21. The Famous aren't actually comparable to some glorified village social club, just because you sometimes rock up to their games as well. Get in the sea.
  22. Erm yes you did: you asked 'What has changed...' - a question that takes for granted that some form of change (decline) has occurred in the game. If you wanted to discuss whether or not two results actually indicated any change then you should have used the 'Has there been a decline?' question instead. But you didn't and so... here we are. Thanks for playing anyway.
  23. Taking a handful of results from Scotland's third cup competition to cite a general 'decline' to pub league or Irish standards is rather idiotic. You'll note for example that the majority of gubbins, 'Celtic' entrants weren't taking part this weekend: having been turfed out in humiliating circumstances by the likes of Elgin City in earlier rounds. As was the case last year as well, and will be the case every year that the competition runs. TNS or some other rabble making the last four is just like Albion Rovers, Stenhousemuir or Stranraer doing so when it was a Scottish-only competition. That didn't make the seaside leagues a growing force in the game.
