  1. Please stop using the word "yourself" incorrectly in nearly every post. It is not interchangeable with "you".
  2. Is that still there? Used to be a regular in there in the mid 70s when I lived in Hyndland.
  3. I remember that game. Substitutions cost us three points. Never seen a game where bringing on subs had such an immediate and catastrophic effect. Couldn't believe we managed to throw that one away.
  4. Sorry to see Habai go - I or one thought he was a decent player and added a bit of aggro that we sometimes lack. Also if Page becomes indispensable at Dunfermline, we could refuse to let him play in the play offs if we came up against them. Or maybe better to insist that he played against us come to think of it...
  5. I see he's in one of the photos from Saturday, sitting in the stand and looking pretty miserable.
  6. Yes, but that was Alan Jenkins' fault...
  7. Just what I was thinking. Embarrassing to think Stranraer could be a division above us next season.
  8. I think that was announced last week. Did we sign him from Stranraer?
  9. The way things are going he'll be playing in the championship next season. In fact if we make the playoffs we'll probably come up against him, and no doubt he'll score.
  10. Six months penal servitude on loan at Cappielow?
  11. The 66/67 season was pretty good too. In the top division, the year we finished 6th (67/68?) and qualified for the 68/69 Fairs Cities Cup was a decent season. Think we maybe made the Scottish Cup semi in 68 too IIRC. Practically any season from 1963 to about 1987 was better than anything we see now with a few glorious exceptions such as last Tuesday. Younger fans seem to see winning the third division title as a high point. I think of that as the start of a prolonged recovery from a low point, albeit we din't sink quite as low as in 1961 when we were absolute bottom of the entire league.
  12. Allan Moore. They will have been impressed by the way he led us to an easy win over them. The only down side is that he will come back in January to sign our star strikers, leaving us with only Archie and Peanut junior. We can buy someone else with the compensation though.
  13. was at Jersey Boys when I we were down in London for the Scotland game, so been listening to some Frankie Valli stuff. Beggin'. And currently playing, Try Jah Love, by Third World, a fantastic song that hardly anyone has ever heard of.
  14. I give you Ross County's second goal against us at Cappielow - the one where he made a great save and then as the ball came back down he fumbled a simple catch into his own net. At least 2 goals at Palmerston where he made a complete hash of things. Need I go on?
  15. Celtic Nation I think they are called. Never heard of them till Irons went there. Apparently based in Carlisle.
  16. I am fairly sure that Simmonds was booed on his debut after about 15 minutes. I note Toby says he was booed off after 72 minutes in a game against Ayr, and that may well be correct, but I can remember a player playing as a trialist or a short term signing or something and being almost a spectator - there was loud booing after a very short time. Does anyone else recall that? I thought it was Simmonds. Toto was disappointing but I don't think it was down to a lack of effort on his part.
  17. My recollection is that Toto had an excellent game against Dunfermline. No idea who else also had an excellent game that day, but I remember distinctly that we were amazed at the transformation in Toto from the previous week; we were equally amazed when he reverted to the Mark 1 model the next week against Thistle. (there may be other games between these matches that I wasn't at). Simmonds may have lasted until the 72nd minute but IIRC he was getting lots of loud abuse from a much earlier stage (including from me) because he was clearly making no effort whatsoever - failing to try to close down defenders or make tackles or do anything that actually involved being near the ball. We have had some rubbish players over the years, but at least they generally ran about and tried to play football. Simmonds inexplicably didn't. BTW did he not play prior to the last game? I thought he actually scored a goal against Raith, which suggested he played more than once. Maybe I'm confusing him with someone else though I can't think whom. Interesting that out of the starting line up against Dunfermline, only Tidser is still at the club, although Spoonsy and Obri of the subs are still there too. Also interesting to read in that report that Graham Holmes apparently came on as a sub twice...
  18. No, he was a very good player when he could be bothered to turn up.
  19. Toto was embarrassingly poor except in one game against Dunfermline where he was inexplicably MotM. Other than that he had one outrageous multiple stepover against Thistle at Firhill. My theory is that he was twin brothers, one of whom was a footballer. The other one was Jonathan Toto and his twin brother played against the Pars in his place because Jonathan was hung over after a night in Word up on the Friday. Was it Toto who was booed off the park after about 15 minutes or was that Donovan Simmonds?
  20. Make sure you wear your Ton strip to training tomorrow...
  21. As a fruit picker. Expect to see a lot of plums bruised from where they've been dropped.
  22. I always thought Brian Graham was a decent player - the goal I particularly remember was one he score against Cowdenbeath at the Sinclair St end where he did about 5 dragbacks to fool the keeper and a defender before the ball went in the net.
  23. Sounds like the perfect attributes for a midfielder.
  24. Has Kasubandi not already signed for Ayr? Despite having been said to have signed for Hamilton after he left us... Is he actually twins?
