  1. It was such a good strike they're counting it in the league as well.
  2. Forgot all about Alex Samuel. That'll be his first league goal for them, I think. Lawrence Shankland scored again today, 11th league goal of the season, making him joint top with another former Morton player, Alan Trouten.
  3. Is it? I know who most of them are and I imagine I'd find out who the others are in minutes if I was the least bit interested. What you've basically described is cornbeef's own account.
  4. Declan McDaid sets up Ayr's opener at Alloa.
  5. Without wanting to go over old ground, you presumably know who almost everyone on here is. The point isn't that one or two people know who he is, it's that 'cornbeef' complains about fake accounts while doing his utmost to keep his own, anti-Irish racist identity a secret. So what is the definition of 'fake' when that's the case?
  6. What is a "fake account"? Does anyone know who 'cornbeef' actually is? His account's as fake as anyone else.
  7. I haven't seen Ed this mad at a screen since they stopped masking Gerry Adams' voice.
  8. You basically just wrote my post but in the style of a ****. Red dot. edit: except we demonstrably weren't "lucky" to have him in that he came on trial, signed, left, signed again, improved markedly, and finally moved to a new club. It's not like he turned down a host of other outfits to benefit us, you fucking tosser.
  9. Also, happy Thanksgiving! I'm thankful for the fact that James Grady isn't Morton manager. God bless us, every one.
  10. While I agree that he's a rat, he's forced a move away from a club treading water in the Scottish second tier, to a top four club not only qualifying for Europe but slaying giants with relative ease. From his perspective it's a job well done, and if he hadn't done so he could still be fucking around at Glebe Park of a Saturday. He will no doubt know a lot of Morton fans hate what he did but will he lose sleep over it? Doubtful.
  11. Still, quite a trip for Brora. I remember they used to have tons of money. If they still do, presumably they stayed overnight? Because 6+ hours on the bus down isn't good game preparation.
  12. Unfortunately Ayr came back to win 6-2. Another non-league side that went ahead, Buckie, eventually lost 3-2 at home to Brechin, while EK did the same by losing 3-4 to visitors Albion Rovers. But fear not, fans of semi-professional schadenfreude. Let's save a big hearty LOL for these: Airdrieonians 2-3 Cove Rangers Formartine United 1-0 Forfar Athletic Stranraer 0-1 Brora Rangers
  13. I don't actually have anything against him and I'm glad he's doing well for himself. It didn't work out for him here, I thought it would, but he ultimately wasn't good enough for this level. Good luck to him in League One.
  14. You just need to look at the caliber of players who move from one league to the other. The likes of Gary Twigg were alright but nothing special in the Scottish lower leagues, but put them in the League of Ireland/Irish League and he was Eusebio. Stewart Greacen managed to get not one but two contracts out of Derry City, one of the LoI's bigger clubs in recent years, and none other than Darren Cole is currently an absolute superstar for them. I know it's a bit of a dodge to say that you can't tell much from cup games but it's true to an extent, nobody is going balls-out to win this the way they are the league, and they are one-off games. But the personnel exchanges are, to me, very telling.
  15. I love the Coupe de France because the French - nature's MOPEs - cling onto their "empire" by having all their overseas departments take part. This means that when you get to the seventh round (the first six are regionalized; so are the seventh and eighth, but only for the teams from metropolitan France, the overseas teams having run out of opposition) you see clubs from French Guiana playing against little outfits from Aquitaine. This year's seventh round took place this very weekend: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2017–18_Coupe_de_France#Ties_involving_overseas_teams Just two overseas teams made it through this time around, one of them impressively defeating a third tier outfit on penalties. Last year an overseas team made it to the eighth round and were drawn away to Lille, but lost 4-1. edit: oh yeah, the relevant part - needless to say the FFF bankrolls all of this travel. Imagine being a player or hanger-on at a division 6 team somewhere fucking grim like northeastern France, then getting drawn away to a team in Guadeloupe or Tahiti. Brilliant. For this reason I suggest a "Darien Cup" in which Scottish Championship teams face opposition from Panama. The SFA can pay for it.
  16. It's hard to see what Scottish teams gain from it, other than the chance for a couple of hundred fans to have a right piss-up in foreign lands. (Which, admittedly, is welcome.) Losing to teams from smaller/similar-sized countries that don't have football as the national sport is simply embarrassing.
  17. Badly tarmacc-Ed drives (in this country)
  18. Second amazing goal of the season for him. He's missed at Morton but fair play to him for having a go at a higher level
  19. The Nigel Clough grudge match classic.
  20. Not our ex-player but former St Mirren midfielder Aaron Mooy is playing well for Huddersfield against Man Utd, even scored the first goal. My memory could be playing tricks but I don't think he was a regular starter at the scum. It wasn't until he went back to Australia to Western Sydney that he actually got a good run of games. Now look at him.
  21. I remember quite a few but admittedly my memories contrast him against his opposite number, Kevin Finlayson, who I don't think landed a successful cross in his life, even on FIFA.
  22. I'm fairly certain it is, he was definitely coaching up there.
