Is he that patient? Think they are on the 6th manager in under 7 years  or something like that..

    He quit, he wasn't pushed.

If 'Dingwall FC' to use their correct, FIFA 05 name are such a plum job as you claim, then why has their manager just abandoned a job for life* and flounced out after a couple of months?

While at the start of a season everything that you state about the comparison is true, there is a time and place to make a jump and now... really isn't it.

Given that Dougie's been given guarantees about the budget at Cappielow I'd also think twice about moving if I was him, but if we put pro-Morton bias to one side, County simply is a job that's bigger, more visible, and with less pressure.

Ross County in their current predicament aren't really a step up from a resurgent Morton.  I would hope Dougie would get us promoted next season, or even this season with a playoff win against, em... Ross County.

County have a wealthy backer who is very patient and a recent history of top flight football, and even cup success. Morton do not have any of these things. I am full of admiration for how both MCT and Dougie have gone about things but without Dougie there's every chance our budgetary position begins to show itself and we end up in League 1 as often as not. County would be a significant step up from Morton in every respect except perhaps fan expectations and if Imrie wanted to climb the managerial ladder to a Hibs or even a Wigan or something he'd do much better in Dingwall than Greenock.

Ross County is an easy introduction to the SPFL Premier League.  There won't be much in the way of expectations, other than avoid relegation, the money will be decent, little pressure and you get to live in a nice corner of the world.

If they come calling, it would be a good move for him, however why would Ross County pay us compensation when they can got the pick of dozens of available managers wanting back into the game.

I agree. He'd be a great fit there but they're more likely to look elsewhere.

I fear we’ll lose him in the summer. Felt he was going somewhat under the radar before he started scoring more often, as his all round style of play is brilliant.

Aye, it's a bit of a Grimshaw situation - guy perhaps playing slightly below his level gets a run in the team, gets his form back, and gets a bigger contract elsewhere as a result.

There are much worse problems to have, of course, such as not getting those players at all, as is happening to failing Dunfermline Athletic, who have a very bad squad filled with "youngsters"! Sad!

I think you may have misunderstood. No one from outside the ground would be able to watch, unless they stand in the car park.

The area I'm talking about is the walkway between the male toilet exit door and the end of the pie stall nearest the WDE, maybe 20 mtrs maximum.

Wee neds will gob on it.

He's talking about inside the ground. Up the back of the Cowshed where the pie stall and bogs are, so you can see the pitch while queueing for bovril.

    Oh.

    Well, don't I feel stupid.

Right, let me save face by quickly coming up with why it's still a bad idea (even though it might not be a bad idea.)

Umm... wee neds will gob on it.

I've suggested the following via email to Dale, as yet I've had no reply, but given he's probably been involved in contract negotiations and the turnstile issue I'm not about to kick up a fuss about that.

My proposal is that they remove three rows of the breeze block wall at the back of the Cowshed in front of the toilets and pie stall, and replace them with perspex windows, thereby allowing those queuing to still see the game while they wait.

The wall in its current form does not support any of the shed roof and therefore should have no impact on the structure itself.

As far as I can see, this shouldn't be to expensive to do and would enhance the overall match day experience.  How many of us have missed an important period of play or goal, while queuing?

I know this was suggested sometime ago but never taken forward for whatever reason.

Probably because letting people watch for free from outside is a really bad idea when the correct solution is just to fix the queuing system. Inside the ground you can do things like regulate unaccompanied children; outside you're much less limited in what you can do.

  8. "Astonishing" really is the word when you see actual top-level pros having a kickabout. I don't mean marginal guys but the absolute top-level internationals, they can be pushing 50 and unfit but you can tell immediately they aren't like mortal men. No doubt they worked hard to have the career they did but it would also be deeply obvious that they just "had it" and if they applied themselves they'd go on to great things.

  9. Interesting one. The top clubs in the Welsh league are probably mid-table League One. If there was a guy in the diddy Falkirk league with those kind of numbers, Championship clubs would be sniffing around. It's a risk, of course, but if the club's done their homework then hopefully it'll work out.
