  1. Hope Peaso manages to last another season, but it looked like his legs were totally gone the last few times he appeared for us..
  2. Yes, remember seeing him playing against Arsenal (and if he was on against Shrewsbury, I saw that one too). What an awful season that was.... Jim Boag top scorer? Gerry Ronald brought in to strengthen the squad...
  3. Kelbie looking slimmer now than when he played for us (going by pic in newspaper). He was in terrible shape when he was with us.. dog walking must have helped.
  4. Surprised at that, thought the 2-0 home defeat to QoS would have ended his chances of being in charge much longer.
  5. It's quite depressing that a Scotland u-21 player isn't good enough for a very average team in the third tier of English football. Read an interview with McManus where he indicated he'd realised he was lacking physically - players in England being bigger/stronger/faster. Technically, when he was with us, his hold-up play was really lacking - that's something he'd really have to improve if he was going to progress.
  6. Declan McManus must be a prime candidate for going out on loan in January. Looks like he is now 5th choice striker at Fleetwood, not even making it onto the bench recently. Move has been a bit of a disaster for him - star player to can't make the match-day squad must be tough to take. With Peaso potentially coming back for us (although I fear he is done), we maybe have sufficient cover (if Samuel stays). I'd certainly be keeping an eye on the situation with Dec...
  7. Not been a good month for Dece. Not 100% sure, but think that might have been his first few minutes of first-team football since the second game of the season. If that keeps up (looks like he's the 4th choice striker) you'd think he'll be out on loan in a few months.
  8. McManus dropped to the bench for Fleetwood tonight. Their fans haven't been overly impressed so far, basically think he runs about non-stop, but doesn't really do much.
  9. Noticed that MyPa (where we got Lindberg/Rajamaki from) went out of business a few months ago due to financial difficulties. Didn't we play them in a friendly at Cappielow? Or was it another Finnish team?
  10. Think it would be fair to say that a huge number of footballers are... well, not the most pleasant of people. They usually aren't particularly bright, then have to handle being mini-celebrities... so it goes to their head. Twitter is a bad thing.. as it let's the supporters see the kind of people their 'heroes' really are. It was probably better in the past, when we hardly knew anything about players. From own experience (from Weatherson 7's) - O'Ware was full of himself, he actually stood out from the rest in that way. Never rated him as a player either, so hope he'll be on his way out during the summer.
  11. Good on him. Best striker we've had in years, should have pushed the boat out to keep him... clueless.
  12. I wasn't really one for giving McGowan any abuse.. until the last Renfrewshire Cup game. His celebration in front of the Morton supporters when he scored was just... well, lacking in any class. Horrible wee ned. St Mirren are very welcome to him.
  13. Two assaults on police officers, surely that means jail time?
  14. Wallace will never be any use, because he has absolutely no pace... and he plays in a position where you need pace to be effective. He may well have looked decent in training, but I guess he often does, as Moore used to pick him pretty regularly, only for him to be dreadful when it counted.
  15. Did Craig Reid get fixed up with a team?
  16. Tidser an unused sub in the opening league game of the season. Gone from being a first pick to not getting a game.. would be a real pity if he doesn't manage to establish himself there.
  17. Wouldn't say I totally agree with that comment... just taken as a quote from a Rotherham Utd fan. I'd gladly have Tidser back in the team, he was much better last season. His movement is poor though, and that's why his big move was to Rotherham Utd. Edit: Tidser starts season on the bench.
  18. Was having a look to see what Rotheram Utd fans were saying about Tidser. A thread discussing what their starting line-up should be, had Tidser on the bench more often than not. General feeling is that he's a talented footballer, good passer of the ball, but isn't very mobile. 'Stands about in the middle not doing very much.. then hits a killer pass' Got the measure of him before the season has started.
  19. Ah, probably! Didn't notice it was in relation to Crawford scoring two penalties against the mighty St Ant's.
  20. Hmm... saw him in one of the friendlies and thought he was poor. Based on pre-season games I would 100% agree with Moore's decisions on the trialists we fielded. I wouldn't say we've missed out on anyone that looked like they could become an established first team player.
  21. Very surprised Monti has got back into the game at First Division level. Maybe he has grown up a bit and improved his attitude. Sure he hasn't got any faster though! If Monti does well for Dundee I'll be surprised..
  22. Nothing changed then.. he was the same when he was at Morton. Talent largely overshadowed by ego..
  23. At junior level. As I remember Monti had no pace at all, so would be totally ineffective as a striker (or in any other position) at a decent level. Hope Dundee sign him!!
  24. Liked big Dougie. He was at uni at the same time as me. Used to amuse me to see him eating burgers and pizzas in the students union every other day...
  25. See that Kevin Rutkiewicz made his second start for Carolina Railhawks in a 'shock' 2-0 win over LA Galaxy in the US Cup.. in front of a new record home crowd of 8121. Taken off with cramp after 70 odd minutes... will take him a while to acclimatise.
