Recommended Posts

Hi everyone

I hope you are all well.

I run a YouTube channel and a media page called SM Media and in my Interview series The Sit Down I conducted a very fascinating interview with Morton legend Alan Mahood.

I would really appreciate all of you giving it a watch and subscribing to my channel plus following my pages. I will post links below.

thanks everyone

Listened this morning, enjoyed it. Always liked Mahood growing up so was good listening back to his thoughts on that mid 90s team with McInnes, Lindberg etc and his relationship with McGraw.

Never realised( or possibly forgot) we were part time in the  early/mid 90s. Anyone remember when we went full time?

He's a Killie fan btw. Most of his interviews are with ex Killie players too.

All in with a Doyle Brunson

We went (partially) full time in the summer of 1994 after being relegated to the Second Division. Think there were around 8 full-time players initially (McInnes, Mahood, Collins, Lilley, Anderson, the Finns when they joined later that year and a few others) whilst the likes of Wylie, Johnstone, McArthur, Alexander, etc stayed part time.

I think we went properly full-time after Stark took over and cleared out a lot of the old guard.

Now before Gavin goes, I'd like to ask him one more question.

Do you like Abba?

Mahood as I recall was a pretty good player in his first spell for us, but I think calling him a 'legend' is pushing it a bit.

Second spell actually, he went to Nottingham Forest for a season or two after only a handful of games for us, if I recall correctly.
