cost - the testing regime for the premier league is a private one where it is costing the clubs money. So in the Betfred the championship, 1 and 2 league clubs need to decide if it is a cost they can afford. Football as part of its recovery restart agreed all initial tests are done privately and it is just the retests that seem to then go through the NHS testing.

Been reported that the cost for a round of testing is just £1500. Prize money for finishing bottom of the group is £20k.

Again, why wouldn't they test?

cost :)

Take Kelty Hearts - in a group with St Johnstone and Dundee U
When the draw was made, there was no testing requirement so when all the clubs decided to enter they were not budgeting for that - so if they play all games and finish bottom of the group, they have £3k expenditure they did not expect and so spent 15% of the prize money on something they did not plan for
or they can just take it on the chin - concede both games as 0-3 losses and get the full £20k anyway without having spent the £3k

Obviously it's different for the Lowland & Highland League clubs in the tournament as it was never clear what was going to be expected of them to play this season, but while testing obviously brings a cost for there's probably still been something of a saving for SPFL clubs, as initially at the time budgets were being set there was an expectation that we would all have to test routinely for the restart of the league and now we don't, while still having the Anderson money.

In any case, the absolute brass neck of Kelty Hearts complaining about unaffordable costs for anything when they're outbidding Championship clubs for signings on an average attendance of 500 (which was itself significantly inflated by a one off crowd of 1500 last season).

Granted group C it affects the worst with 2 Premiership teams.

Still, really? Conceding 2 games against Premiership opposition, combined 0-6 losses for the sake of £3k (equivalent of a handful of weeks of new club captain Snake Tidser's wages?)

Actually, the one Chairmain I could see considering entertaining forfeiting their respective game to save a couple of quid during currently times is Crawford 'cutbacks' Rae.

What a hounding he would be due if he tried that.

I'm sure the fact it is to be televised would stop that anyway but wouldn't rule anything out.

QoS 1-0 St. Mirren

Edit 2-0 now.

McGhee needs some support, there's no-one backing him up.
Hayes playing it forward, Bell being forced to do it all alone, now forward from Marr, here's Ritchie, still Andy Ritchie, look at the control...

That is a marvellous goal from Andy Ritchie. Twenty minutes on the clock and Morton's supporters come alive. A goal which epitomises the control, the arrogance, the cheek of Andy Ritchie.

Partick 2-0 Queen's Park

QoS 2-2 St. Mirren - going to penalties.

Whatever happens we'll be 2nd bottom with a game in hand over Partick.

Once could happen to anyone. Twice is bad luck. Three times is highly unfortunately, but 4 times? Suggests something with their controls just isn't right to me.

We have to play them less than a month, so this more than just a point and laugh exercise. They could be putting our players at risk.

Then again, it will be our first time being tested before a game too, so best be careful what you wish for.

The problem with their controls is their aversion to soap, the dirty paisley bastards!!!

The notion of "hand sanitizer" would blow their tiny minds aswell.
