  1. Aye, played dundee united and felt like an end of season game more than a playoff.
  2. Aye, it's a signing that compliments the squad. We've got a lot of options now in every position to play in different ways. If we make the playoffs we should go in with confidence.
  3. There's always a need for updates when people are paying 100s a year and we need as many members as possible. Things might be going well on the park and we've got a wealthy sponsor just now but the owners (MCT) should always be active as they are representing the 800 or so members.
  4. Agreed, hopefully a statement of intent and gets the crowds up for the rest of the season. On the MCT point - it feels like we're more about Dalrada now and the people at the club itself. Not been an update on MCT news since the AGM apart from to mention the total raised. Twitter seems to just be retweets about the club and community trust. Some updates on what's happening with MCT, how the fans are represented, etc would be good. Hopefully they increase the comms and engagement and capitalise on the feelgood factor just now.
  5. Thought he came across really well. Knows about the club and seems genuinely excited. Sounds like he's had a tough time recently so hopefully has a point to prove and kicks on with us.
  6. Option to move Grimshaw in there.
  7. Aye, its the exception bit that I think is applicable for us. He's clearly and experienced player at a higher level than us and would bring something to the team we don't have. The fact he's likely to be one of our top earners (if not the top would back this up). I guess the difference in the two players is what the panel thinks of the player.
  8. It's still pretty vague for me and they surely need to consider what level the team is at. Despite him not having a lot of game time recently, he was signed for the Scottish Champions about 4 years ago and is only 30 so it could be argued that's a high calibre for a mid table Championship team. On the second part, I think we have to be considered as top level or we'd never be able to get work permits in this league. With his experience then again it could be argued that there would be a significant contribution to the players around him. Given that he's coming from overseas and will likely be on a decent wage then the club are obviously of the belief he'll make a significant contribution or they wouldn't be spending that money.
  9. Aye, would have thought the criteria was basically that a player had to be something we couldn't get here and he's surely in that category with his experience at a decent level.
  10. Comments from other teams fans suggest otherwise. Hopefully they are wrong.
  11. Aye, flashes of a good player there and definitely someone who had potential to make a difference in games (more likely as a sub). Hopefully we can get a couple in now. Don't really have many options that can change a game.
  12. Aye, he thought we should have let him go instead of holding on for a fee. Obviously wasn't too annoyed since he signed but apparently wasn't too happy about it all.
  13. Apparently wasn't playing at the start of the season because of his attitude towards the club for not letting him go.
  14. From a terrible debut, its now obvious this too good for this league. Would love to keep him but can't see it.
  15. That last bit is the point I was trying to make. It's not simply about community ownership but things like this will make getting external investment easier.
  16. While I agree there's a lot of positives, it sounds like Dalrada dug us out a bit of a hole at one point and is essentially a rich backer. The good thing for me though is that the interview with their guy name checked Sam Robinson who has really impressed me since he got involved with MCT so people within the club are actively seeking (and getting) investment. Everything you've listed will support this though so all in all a positive year.
  17. I've not written Grimshaw off completely but still unconvinced. I'd like to see him in the midfield with Crawford and Gillespie though. Ambrose will be an interesting one. If we were offered a player with his career and achievements without knowing the name we'd all be delighted. If nothing else it's an exciting signing and a bit unusual for us so I'm all for it for now.
  18. Aye I'm hoping it will be a good signing. Had a read through some of his career there and it's impressive. Brian McLean done a job for us (at least in spells) and was older with less pedigree in the game. I think Ambrose is one of these players that people remember mistakes but you don't have a career like his without having a lot of qualities.
  19. Not so sure about Grimshaw coming good tbh. He couldn't have got much worse than his debut but still question marks over him.
  20. Not sure I agree with this (or at least the comparison). At 34 he should be able to do a job at some point. Ambrose has 50 odd international caps and won a major trophy and Grimshaw had an OK spell at Motherwell. Maybe I'm being overly optimistic but I think it's a positive signing despite him having a poor spell last season.
  21. Thought that was good. Bit of team binding as an added bonus to something a bit different. Although on the commercial side, I'm still waiting on a reply about hospitality after getting in touch at the start of the week to see about a payment.
  22. The last sentence is true. We can't just sign people if not up to it.
  23. Thought that. Did Hunter make a comeback or is my 10ish year old brain playing tricks? Either way, remember Jim Hunter being class.
