  1. Thanks for clearing that up, obviously I wasn’t witness to his injury, but I’m sure it was all above board and within the spirit of the rules. Mutants.
  2. Thoughts on this? Stuart Bannigan played the full game and wasn’t substituted before the final whistle but was excused from taking a penalty in the shoot out because he was “injured”. This begs the question as to why he wasn’t withdrawn before full time if he wasn’t fit to continue, and if he was fit to continue, why didn’t he take his penalty? It’s an awful coincidence that a guy who missed a penalty in a high profile shoot out not so long ago can be excused next time a shoot out comes around, and in my opinion, opens things up to a degree of manipulation. Is it possible between full time and a penalty shoot out to declare a number of players injured so that only your most reliable step up, whilst your opponents are forced to rely on their less accomplished takers as the shoot out goes on? This is genuinely something I’ve never seen before, and I’m unsure as to what the laws of the game are for a situation like this. The main thing of course is that those tramps lost the shoot out that really mattered to them, but the only way I can see how it’s acceptable for a player not to take a penalty when his turn arises is if he’s red carded during the penalty shoot out.
  3. Aye, as far as I can remember, any trialist can play for up to three games in the two lower divisions before being signed. I could be wrong and await Dunning’s confirmation.
  4. Very much so. Throw the bigger than usual crowd and new ticketing system that everyone’s got to get to grips with and I suspect things could turn messy. Wouldn’t mind seeing the fallout as kick off approaches and some of these goons start on the very fans they’re there to assist, but I’d also like to see the match, so I’ll probably try to get in sooner rather than later, especially with the time it’ll take for them to decide whether I’m worthy of entry based on my choice of attire for the day.
  5. The issue as well is, the folk most likely to need physical tickets, miss out on communications through Twitter, and least likely to be involved in any crowd trouble are the old guard who are less likely to be up to speed on all things social media. All in all, a complete shit show, because Police Scotland feel that making things as difficult as possible for the paying customer will give them a canter of an afternoon. I’d also point out that to do this for a game that’s not on the season ticket is especially shite patter.
  6. It really is, yes. Whilst it’s a derby game, the amount of actual trouble this game sees is nothing more than the police will get from a couple of young teams fighting in a scheme on a Friday night, and why restricting the sale of tickets in the half hour prior to kick off affects this is a mystery. It’s mental that these sort of restrictions are placed on football clubs by the police, and out with the licenced trade, it’s hard to think of another industry that is subjected to such restrictions of trade. All this does is inconvenience fans and harm the club’s potential revenue for no justifiable reason.
  7. This was their media boy’s tweet from his personal account in the aftermath of the Goodwillie speculation that was all their own doing. A complete helmet of a lad, by the looks of things. Being local, I’m probdd wee Bly down at K Park 2-3 times a season and was at their recent friendly with Queen of the South. Can’t see myself going anywhere near the place for a while though, they’ve always been a difficult club to like, but there’s something really nasty about them at the moment.
  8. Except that this isn’t an official club statement at all, rather a sound bite picked up from the paper in reaction to the fixture schedule. A completely harmless, inoffensive one at that, to all except you, it would appear. I would describe a “club statement” as a piece that would appear on the website, but of course, we’re dealing with your little world, so if you’re desperately trying not to concede, your definition will suit your daft agenda. For the record, an embarrassing club statement was released by Dave MacKinnon in relation to the 2020 Twitter nonsense. Quite how you can claim “that disnae count” should come as a surprise, but sadly it doesn’t. There was of course the period that Jonathan Mitchell was involved in the club that things improved, but after his departure, being better than Scott fucking Gardiner is hardly a high benchmark. No, your utter contempt for the idea that the fixture list can be, should be and often is altered on occasion to prevent such anomalies and your deliberate failure to take account of the point that the four fixtures in question have been at three of the most difficult venues to actually get to in the division (the main crux of the matter, although it’s extremely unusual for us not to have at least one fixture at Cappielow out of those four) in spite of AyrshireTon helping us out with a breakdown of how probable that scenario is are the issues, here. You’ll probably bore me into submission eventually, but it’s a good thing you don’t concern yourself with how much of a fool you’re making of yourself in the process.
  9. The old regime actively despised the fans. They sent out letters to folk who weren’t even charged, never mind convicted, after Brechin away in 2018 threatening them with sanctions for their behaviour without even investigating what happened. After that, in 2020 blocked fans on Twitter and released a ludicrous statement about respect when, in actual fact, the tweets were merely criticisms of Hopkin’s team selection that day, rather than anything abusive. This made them Scottish football’s laughing stock for that particular week, and they took it from all angles, before climbing down and wasting time and resources trying to make good of their fuck ups. In this instance, a member of the board has been asked a question by Chris, admitted that he’s not pleased with the outcome and why, but used it as an opportunity to throw in a wee compliment to the support. And you’re greeting about it. Christ on a fucking tricycle. Clearly not. But I’m sure you’ll be along soon enough with examples of clubs down the years being forced to play their final games in the arse end of nowhere four years in a row to show me that this isn’t an anomaly. After all with a 6.25% chance of four consecutive away games anywhere then there must be a number of examples to put me firmly in my box. Oh wait, you’ve failed to provide any, in spite of my promptings. Now and again, even you are wrong. Boring people into submission doesn’t always work. Best walking away with your tail between your legs, accepting you made a cunt of it and picking your next battle more carefully.
  10. Quite a hill you’re choosing to die on here, so where exactly are your examples of other teams playing away from home on the final day of a season on so many consecutive occasions? Particularly in the arse end of nowhere, considering these places are, as I helpfully pointed out, harder to reach than more accessible venues such as Kirkcaldy for an evening kick off during the week(wee clue, there aren’t any). If you actually read any of my posts, you might have noted that I pointed out that there was no grand plan to screw us over, labelling such a suggestion as absurd. Of course though, you’re looking for anything , so I suppose that’ll just have to do and you can hope it’ll stick. I see you’re still sticking to the old Partick Thistle: Bad philosophy to drag yourself out of this one (at least you’ve got something right), but you’re fooling nobody, especially in ignoring the point that was raised about the club not actually speaking on your or my behalf. Keep howling to the moon, champ. Leave the award winning, fact based analysis to the experts.
  11. I’m sure you’ll be able to provide similar examples of clubs being given such a run of fixtures at the arse end of nowhere on the final day so many years in a row then, given that you don’t see it as an anomaly? The only comparable example I can think of is Rangers continually playing away on the first day, which can be explained by the tradition of Celtic lifting the flag on day one. Their away game on day one this season is the arduous track to Kilmarnock. My citing of Partick as a noble fighter against the cause is another belter. You said no other clubs complain about away fixtures at awkward times and I gave you an example. That it’s a shit club is neither here nor there- unless of course, you not liking them can be used to as another flailing point as you try to drag yourself out of a hole. Poor stuff, I expected better than that. You regard it as whatever you wish- but the board are indirectly voted for by the fans, and as such are appointed decision makers. If they wish to speak on the fans’ behalf, the vast majority (i.e. just about everyone but you) will have no issue with it. Wait a minute- the article’s behind a paywall, so they didn’t actually say anything on the fans’ behalf, but merely pointed out how they felt it was unfair on them??? And he’s actually greeting about that??? Given some of the stuff we’ve given Morton boards grief for down the years, expressing disappointment and sympathy for the fans is one I never thought I’d see them getting hammered for. A new low for this once proud fanbase. Or, for vikingTON, more specifically.
  12. Two away games out of four would be absolutely fine with me. I wouldn’t object to three and one, these things happen and you can’t please everyone. My issue is with four considerable journeys on the final day of consecutive seasons, which is far more of an anomaly than our fixtures not landing symmetrically. 1) Friday night fixtures are occasional. Last season you may note (you probably won’t as it doesn’t suit your agenda) that Partick complained about how regularly they were sent up to Inverness on a Friday night on the occasion they actually wanted their game moved so it didn’t coincide with Scotland v Cyprus at Hampden, and the BBC’s TV pick eventually gave them their wish. 2) Inverness is not accessible from Greenock for people finishing work at 5pm on a Friday, but you know that anyway. 1) Shite, jobby, shite. 2) No they shouldn’t. They’re elected to make decisions on the club’s behalf and do that. For such a massive issue as the Conference League, it’s only right that the fans are consulted to form the club’s policy, but in more minor instances such as this, there’s no issue with them making their own decision and acting on it- except for you, of course.
  13. It happens regularly. Off the top of my head, Aberdeen visited Celtic Park three times last season and only hosted Celtic once.
  14. Based on a sample size of the same matchday on four consecutive seasons, which, even in your world, could be described as multiple seasons. Yet still you continue to flog this dead horse because “I’m alright, Jack”. Your point about others having to work Saturdays is clutching as tightly at straws as I’ve ever seen from anyone. As someone who worked weekends for about 25 years and had to constantly swap shifts, I’m well aware of those pitfalls, but 3pm on a Saturday is generally accepted as the time that football is scheduled in this country. And as I said to you elsewhere last night, Kirkcaldy is accessible from Greenock on a Tuesday night, even if not via your preferred mode of transport. Like it or not, these guys have been elected to represent us, and have decided to make their point based on the scope of opinion they’ve seen. That yours hasn’t been taken on board really is a terrible wee shame. Perhaps you should be a bit more vocal about your opinions for a wee change?
  15. They’ll already have pencilled in Dundee United v Partick for TV coverage that night. Another case of the SPFL manipulating the fixture list, this time in order to give themselves a scenario they’ll hope is like last season’s final day. Pity* Partick have been decimated and won’t be anywhere near the title. *Not a pity at all. With every team having two home games in front of the cameras, I’d imagine most games are already mapped out.
  16. It’s not “the luck of the draw” though. The fixture list is manipulated every single season in order that it falls the way the SPFL want it. Is it any coincidence that the Old Firm game is always rotated with Rangers at home first one season and Celtic at home first the following season? And after the split it’s designed at all costs to give the team who played at home once the fourth derby when other fixtures don’t get the same treatment? Is it any coincidence that Queen’s Park have only one home game before 12th September- against Arbroath, who are likely to bring less than anyone else in the league with the possible exception of Inverness? I don’t believe we’ve been deliberately done over by the SPFL here, that would be absurd. But they’ve at best been extremely careless in how they’ve handled our fixtures, and we’re not getting anywhere near an equal spread of fixtures at vital times across multiple seasons now. I suspect vikingTON’s motivation is that Inverness away on a Friday night at the end of the season is a tremendous day/night out, which I don’t dispute, but it shouldn’t be the main consideration when fans are forced into taking annual leave, or worse, not allowed to by their employers, and the team continually have to travel to the back of beyond for what is potentially the pivotal match of their season, year after year.
  17. He’s not really said anything that’s out of order- said he understands it but it’s not for him. If only was the same furore about Open Goal’s employees blatantly accusing Morton of corruption last season when discussing the 10-2 at Hamilton.
  18. Absolute nonsense that on the last day of the season four years in a row we’ve had Arbroath away twice, Cove away and now Inverness away.
  19. Only 71? Bastard, I had him in the sweep.
  20. Reece Lyon signs for Kelty Hearts.
  21. As Paul alludes to with Ed, one guy on here making a fool of himself is a welcome reminder as to how much this forum has improved since some were emptied and others finally left by their own accord. Whilst there will always be arguments, for years we used to read about how this place was so much worse than in the good old days. Now it’s so much better than in the bad old days.
  22. Why would I even dignify you by entering into a bet about a complete non-issue?
  23. Are the voices telling you that?
  24. It’s not a case of “finding out soon enough” as there’s nothing to suggest there’s a decision to be made other than the voices in your tiny mind. I don’t know if this is an attempt at trolling or getting a bite off other posters on here, but all you’re succeeding in doing is making a fool of yourself, and not for the first time.
