Keen to understand what they are actually looking for? I can't remember any recent incidents where fans/players/stewards were attacked with some sort of weapon to cause these random searches to take place. On the stewards in general, i noticed a couple of kids standing behind the goal and weren't told to move so hopefully that's the end of that particular issue.

Feel good factor back after a pretty pish few weeks of doom and gloom. Hopefully a new chapter for MCT, finally 1500 Morton fans against Cove, hopefully we get a few more out tomorrow. Really looking forward to tomorrow.

Happy with that. Needed another option in there as realistically only Blues, Lyon and Gillespie are regular starter options and both Lyon and Blues have shown inconsistencies already this season. Healthly competition with McGrattan and King to back those 4 up too. Tells me there will almost certainly be a striker coming in too as if he only had budget for one, I highly doubt he would have signed another midfielder when we are crying out for a striker so hopefully another to follow before the deadline.

Hopefully he was on a few grand a week.. Be interesting to see what his Dad does next..

Wouldn't be surprised if Dougie has been told you can bring in 1 or 2 more but they need to be the last week of the window to save paying a few weeks wages. We brought 4 or 5 in on deadline day last year, presumably with the same plan to save money.

I was actually surprised our crowd was as high as 1500. I expected 13-1400. If we can at least maintain but hopefully increase that, our average will be closer to 2k bearing in mind 99% of the 1500 were home fans and you'd like to think the away fans would average at least 300-350 over the season. ( expect decent numbers from Dundee, Thistle and Ayr). No doubt the BBC will pick one of the Thistle games which won't help the gate Of course your right though, in a few months people might decide 22 quid can be put to better use elsewhere, especially if/when we are down the bottom.

Aye it could get us one player certainly but the point is people are saying the sponsorship deal could be the difference between the same budget and a cut budget. The difference looks like a lot more than 20-30k going by last years squad to this one. Its at least 6 figures short...

I doubt the potential sponsorship is going to have a significant impact on Dougie's budget. Its not like we are in the market for 6 figure sponsorship deals. I'm guessing its no more than 20-30k GR said the budget was pretty much the same in a separate discussion from the sponsorship chat at the start of the meeting.. if we don't sign any more players, clearly he was just talking nonsense. Btw, he made it out the sponsorship deal was all but complete, where is it?

Ayr fan over on pandb saying he's heard we are about to sign Robbie Crawford. Good signing if true but would give us 6 centre mids so you'd think 1 or 2 might move on/go on loan

From what I heard, it was Jai who didn't want to move, not the club rejecting the offer, despite what was put out in the press Players were giving him a bit of stick for rejecting it etc The matches what the Doncaster manager told the Tele atvthe time, that they offered what the club wanted.

His career has went to shit since he left us. Must be depressing for him looking at his stats. Just 18 league starts and 30 sub appearances in 4 years for Partick, Dumbarton and Queens Park. Just the 5 league goals in that time too. He is only 24 so has time to get his career back on track but i doubt he will get a chance to do that in the Championship this season, at least I hope not!

Gordon Ritchie started the EGM last week by saying can't say too much right now but we should have a couple of exciting signings early this week.. or words to that effect.

Aye good luck to him, good honest pro but time was right to move on. We have the experienced head in Lithgow and he is 3 years younger than Brian.

DD option was surprisingly quick and straightforward, assuming it went through OK. No email confirmation right enough.

Disappointed with that, was hoping he would sign on as he impressed once he got up to match fitness. Wouldn't mind us going for McGinn now as he clearly doesn't rate Jacobs.

Think there needs to be an element of trust in the GMFC board here. We clear need investment, they clearly know the people in question and will undoubtedly have done background checks. They are not going to sell us doon the water to the next Hugh Scott. If they don't pay up, they lose their shares so we are fully protected. I don't think we need to know each individual agreement, knowing who they are is enough. I'll be bitterly disappointed if we say no to additional income streams It's utter madness for me when we all want Dougie to have the best budget possible to give us the best chance of success.
