All the best to Baird, would say he’s probably deserved that move and wouldn’t grudge him it at 29 years old. He will be a tough one to replace and as mentioned before hopefully at the very least there has been attempts made at our end to keep players….Im sure we probably haven’t bothered our arse though.

Dougie openly said at the Q&A that he has applied for various jobs in the past and he is aiming to manage at the top of the game, and rightly so. If he goes to them, it’ll be disappointing but wish him all the very best and the effort he has put in here has been tremendous.
The frustration is if we were in a position to really back him financially he would probably be the one to take us up. I always felt nicking into the playoffs under Dougie would be the way to see us promoted as he can always get that wee bit extra out the team.
Some absolute bumpers on fb saying they’d take Brian Graham as our new manager. Have a word with yourself.

No but his contract runs out in June so whilst there should have been some sort of statement especially with the negative press around it, on Morton's current standards it was never likely until it's actually expired.
The best we got was director/ex director/director/ex director Stuart Duncan on the 3rd of May making a snidey comment about it on Facebook, saying Andy’s contract had come to an end and ignored the situation that happened after the game.

A delicious fall from grace.

Raith Rovers and in particular, Andy Barrowman can fuck off.

Struggling to understand the reasoning behind not having some form of merch stall open at that today. Shocked at how stupid that is. How many folk attended? A few hundred people in the building and they can’t spend their money!

Dale has went from judge him by his actions and what he gets done a few updates ago to it’s been challenging and not much is happening so things seem to be at a bit of a standstill behind the scenes.
Didn’t get that at all from that video as he said they have made progress on something like 75% of the pillars in the 3 year strategy he wants to be judged on? Mentioned it near the end of the video.
Disappointing there won’t be progress on the land front as huge potential there.

If the club could just somehow make this happen that would be unreal.

Good luck Lewis! Always gave 100% and hopefully we can find someone decent to replace him.

I'm not comfortable going into the season with Murdoch as our backup keeper. Still young, small and untested. The fact we played an injured Mcdonald for a couple of games over him when Mullen was out says that Dougie knows he's not ready either. Doesnt need to be someone similar to Mullen but at least have a few development/first team games under his belt at a half decent level.
Mullen is clear number 1 but has had a couple of injuries during his short career to date, we need a decent backup should it happen again.
Im sure at the Q&A in the Lighthouse Dougie mentioned Murdoch and O’Boy will probably go out on loan this season.

Why is that? Its still early days for Spudgun* here. He hasn't really done anything.
* for all younger folk, see below:
We need to see if he delivers on the early promise shown here, and the jury is out on that obviously. Sorting turnstiles would be a decent start for many, and as mentioned before Motherwell will be the indicator for that.
I don’t remember Hawke/Donaldson or whoever else speaking as positively, giving insight and appearing to genuinely plan for the future. He talks about everyone pulling in the same direction, good people in the building and being on the same page so hopefully we see that come together and we get some progression come the end of the season and we make the playoffs.

What a difference from the days of Hawke / insert any of the other charlatans names here.
Really open, positive and proactive with a clear vision going forward

It’s just annoying we can’t seem to get these little things right. Feels like a step back to the Morton of old when things were extremely amateur.
Can’t say I’m overly fussed by much of the merch either, will undoubtedly end up with a mug or a towel at Christmas though. All feels a bit thrown together.

Also good for directors of the MCT board to remember it’s the MCT board and not the GMFC board. Just incase, people get mixed up and say they are GMFC directors when telling people and they are actually MCT. And vice versa.

Oisin McEntee scores for Walsall against Blackburn in the cup!

Loved watching those highlights from midweek. Some laugh!
They would be aswell folding now. Cove coming down and hopefully Accies via playoffs in League 1 will make it a tough ask again. Would be nice to see them emptying McGlynn too just to top it all off!

Appoint Sir Richard chairman for life for a noble attempt at maiming one of them.

How is it allowed that they can step down from MCT (the vehicle that got them on the GMFC board) but remain on the GMFC board? Surely if you step down from MCT you do the same for GMFC?
I have absolutely no idea about this so if someone is happy to help explain that would be great!

Squad 25/26
in General Morton Chatter

Pretty poor overall that we have had absolutely no update regarding the current playing squad. Hopefully some form of news, ideally good news comes our way by the end of the week.
