The defence is clearly not in an acceptable state and we can't persist just the four we have for half a season, but waiting for quality to come along rather than flinging a contract at anyone who's available, eg Michael Doyle, for the sake of it is an approach which has already worked for us in the past.
As for the suggestion that one bad defeat and the squad not being complete come the start of September means Dougie Imrie is not that good a manager, this is a ridiculous take. He is quite clearly the club's best manager in decades, and even if we regress this season that will continue to be the case.
If he did apply for the Dundee job or any other top flight job which becomes available then that's fine: an ambitious manager who's doing a good job is eventually going to get an upwards move and that's to be expected. Provided he's applying for/being approached for jobs through the proper channels and not performing a Ray McKinnon style snaking then that's part and parcel of actually having a good manager for a change.
Don't speak too much sense now mate. Might blow some people's minds

Tut tut Bluesy... no need for profanity. Just an opinion. I wonder if there's another club in Britain with 4 defenders o their books? And my sources advise he applied for Dundee job amongst others. So maybe get your blinkers off.

Correct it's not popular. Now fuck off

Blues has been poor even in his games at CM this season so far IMO and he is definitely not our answer to the right back dilemma as last week showed. O’Connor I thought started season well at RB however you can tell he is far more comfortable at CB. He had a bit of a shocker last week tbf. Mcgrattan was great at RB against Ayr however he is so crucial to us in the front areas I’d hate for him to be papped at RB majority of the season. I really hope we can find someone to bring in within the loan market however it seems to be a position that many clubs are struggling with at the moment.Blues hasn't been poor at all.
He's done well playing out of position and when played in midfield he's worked hard albeit not doing much offensively which is a concern. The guy deserves some leeway.

We held off to get the players in that we wanted this time last year. Let's have a little faith in Dougie and the club to do the same again.

The worry there would be if they appointed McInnes or Robinson, that in my opinion would be two teams who would potentially consider Dougie as their next gaffer.
Yeah. I think the knock on effect is more of a concern for us than any of the initial vacancies.

Hibs looking for a new manager.

Right back is obviously the priority and has been for a while, not sure who is available though at this late stage in the window but I'm sure Dougie will have his eyes on a few.
The club have put a video on social media tonight. Wilson and Jai look to be fully involved in training. Baird was there at the start too. Doyle is still training with the club and is kicking a ball again.

Getting closer to the window shutting. What's everyone's thoughts?
Would still like to see a rb, cover at lb/cb and a goalscorer come in.
Could see king going out on loan and I really hope we don't lose anyone else to another club

Ayr confirm that Andy Murdoch has done his ACL again after that challenge on Quitongo.
Before that challenge I'd have had a lot of sympathy for Murdoch. Not now.

Aidan McAdams joins Edinburgh City as Sam Ramsbottom's replacement.
Surprised that he's had to drop down a league. Thought he was a decent enough keeper at this level.

Today's performance reinforces the need for signing a natural right back to be a priority.
Would also like to see another option to Oakley and Muirhead in that central striker role but wishful thinking perhaps

Wilson not in the squad today

I like Wilson as a player and thought he did well with us after a slow start. Being able to play in a few different positions is a real positive and I couldn't believe it when I read he was only 24.
Need to hope he can stay fit as I do think he'd be an asset to the team. Power and him in the midfield could be a right bastard to play against.

I'd heard a few weeks ago that king was due to go out on loan. Wondering if Wilson comes in that may happen?
Could also be putting 2 and 2 together here but noticed Gillespie didnt budge off the bench on Saturday. He may be injured?

Email from Ross to say the Chevrons are available for pick up.

The tartan tops are in so where the fuck are the chevrons!?

MacDonald looks to be a great signing. Still a very good keeper at this level and brings experience too. I thought Mullen had gotten off to a shaky start but recently he's been very good. Will be interesting to see how Dougie manages that situation.
Looking at the squad at the moment we still need a right back and another central midfielder. Heard Doyle is back training with us so he could be an option. Lawson who played for Hamilton last season has been mentioned as he plays midfield and at right back and Jamie Brandon has been banded about too. If Garrity goes out on loan then it would open up a space for a winger. I'm sure Dougie has players in mind. May be a case of playing the waiting game.
-
Partick sign Kerr McInroy. Wondered if we'd be interested in signing him.
-
I'd take Brandon back in a heartbeat. Don't know much about Lawson
Squad for next Season

Folk pissing the bed over a lack of signings. Take a look at the likes of Ayr and ICT who have signed absolute no marks to fill positions in their squad. The 2 boys Ayr had at right back against us is a prime example. I'd rather work with what we have and focus on an above average loan or free agent than sign shite like they have or rush a signing in because the window has a few hours left open.
