Apparently one was heard to say "remember Hillsborough". As if there was any sort of comparison.

    Surely not.

I heard they stopped letting folk into the Sinclair Street end as it was apparently full. However it was more of a health and safety risk having a group of supporters caught in a bottle neck by incompetent stewards.

I don’t recognise “hating” any football club as a healthy state of mind, so I take it the word is not really meant in it’s true context in this forum, however I dislike the way Thistle are described as “The Maryhill Magyars”, the “Firhill for Thrills” stuff and the luvvies who pretend to support them when it’s obviously a cover up of who they really support.

    I fucking hate this post.

This attitude towards our own players was quite roundly agreed amongst the Ton Fans I stood with over the years at Cappielow.
The general consensus was that an inflated sense of superiority of some fans was actually due to the transferance of an inferiority complex.

    That's plenty.

So far then it looks like Kabia and Jai either side of Muirhead if it’s 4-3-3. We still need a creative midfielder, another forward and a defender though. Apparently Dick Campbell wants 50k for Nicky Low so I’m not sure we’d pay that.

There's no way we would even consider paying that sort of fee for a player.

Couple of spectacular goals aside, Jai Quitongo is a pretty rotten footballer and a total fanny to boot. I’d hope this isn’t true, we’d be downgrading on an already mediocre option in Ugwu.

    Agreed.

He didn't exactly set league 1 on fire and his injury record is pretty poor.

I never thought it would happen. But so, so glad that it has. I think it’s possibly largely a result of Dougie’s obvious passion and commitment to succeed, along with his powers of persuasion. Who knows. Brilliant news. I still think he should get the captain’s armband, and I can’t think of anyone in the squad better qualified to lead by example.

If we start with a 433 the line up could be looking like:

    New

    Pignatello baird oconnor strapp

    Lyon/ blues new new

    Muirhead new new

Subs- mcgrattan, mcgregor, easedale, lithgow, Jacobs, king

Have I missed anyone? Still a bit of work to be done on that squad.

You can't see it on the post above, but on my phone anyway, the Twitter post is using a number 1 emoji for the first 1 in eleven.

    Jack Hamilton it is.

I thought that was maybe because it's the 1st signing of today to be announced.

I’d say Capitanus is maybe inferring that you’re suggesting we sign him. I assume that’s not what you meant. Though I hear Andy Ritchie has been in training recently.

Aye he'd be am upgrade on Darren Hynes. Get it done Dougie.

Disappointed with that, was hoping he would sign on as he impressed once he got up to match fitness.

Wouldn't mind us going for McGinn now as he clearly doesn't rate Jacobs.

I really don't think mcginn is what we need or what Dougie would be looking to bring in. Regardless of what formation we are going to place need another central midfielder in. Preferably in the tidser mould who can be that creative spark and offer something different to Lyons, blue and Jacobs.

Hopefully Dougie has a plan B.

Iain Wilson signs for Queen of the South.

Would have liked to see him stay.Took his time to get up to speed and was a decent addition to the squad. Not overly disappointed though as there's better out there.

My concern is that Queens may be a more attractive option than us with him and now really leaving for them.

  11. Bought the new kit today for my son as he asked for it for his birthday.  Not impressed at all. It looks even worse in the flesh and is covered in sponsorship. The fact that the sponsor has been printed on rather than part of the material is poor imo. I won't be buying it for myself.
