  1. I’m going to stick my neck out & forecast that QP will finish in 9th place. QP currently would have to get 6 points from 3 games to get above us as we have a much better GD. That assumes we lose all our remaining games but not by large margins. A win next week puts us out of reach unless they win all their 3 games, which.is very unlikely. I reckon we should be ok. And 5th place is very doable.

  2. Team looked knackered right from the start but FFS they make it hard for themselves.  That Baird fluffed passback for example.  We seemed unable to string two passes together and we didn't win any second balls.  The Quitongo incident looked a clear penalty and in fact the "dive" for which he was booked looked as if there was slight contact.  We looked a wee bit better when Bearne came on.  He needs to start against Arbroath to make us more creative and let us drop the hoofball tactics.  Apparently Strapp out for the rest of the season but Oakley's injury not too serious and might be back next week.  Hope that info is correct as BBC Scotland are strangers to truth as we all know.

Three point at Arbroath will keep us safe but FFS how did it ever come to this.  Anyway at the end of the day beating Dundee United was not really expected and it didn't turn into a real hammering as looked likely at one point.  Still, don't want to be going to Inverness on may 4th without at least a 4 point advantage.

  3. We need to win on Saturday.  No messing about.  A draw certainly still keeps us in touch 2 points adrift but losing means 5 points behind them with 5 to play and that is a mountain to climb.  I hope we set up with an attacking formation.

  4. We made heavy weather of that. Two good goals plus Broadfoot hit the bar with a header at 0-0. QP looked feeble up front although did have a couole of close things. I was shocked how much pace Quitongo has lost. The previous Quitongo could have outrun those defenders easily but currently he looks done.

Not a great game to watch but got the win and now 8 points clear of Inverness who only have 5 games left. So far they have roughly 1 point per game olayed so looking like ending with maybe 37-39 points. I’d say we should be safe. A win at Airdrie needed next to edge us further ahead of them, and a win at Ayr, would set us up nicely for a playoff spot.

  5. It's maybe the case that Dougie was reasonably happy with the squad and didn't anticipate we'd be so affected by injuries in February and March.  He already has another striker lined up for next season ) and I would hope that Oakley could be persuaded to extend his contract so other than a short term signing until the summer, what did we really need prior to the transfer window closing?  We were on a decent run and it would have been reasonable to expect that to continue in some shape or form.

  6. That sounds outrageous. Firstly, they should be stating the price inclusive of VAT as most folk won’t be VAT-registered and so won’t be able to recover the VAT.   Secondly unless the event has been seriously upgraded since last year, a price increase of around 140% is indefensible. I know they want to make a profit but at those prices I can’t see many takers.

  7. Where to start with that intemperant rant? I suggest you yourself relocate to general nonsense where you can shout into the echo chamber.  My political beliefs are none of your business but rest assured I will never ever vote for a unionist party, and especially any party which sees genocide occurring and refuses to condemn it, as is the case with both the main unionist parties. They probably chime with your own values perfectly. Now can we please get this thread back on topic?

  8. You’re the one who brought politics into it. Maybe you should have posted in general nonsense instead. Oh, and for the record I’m not a member of any political party. Are you still voting Likud? I notice your wee flag has vanished. :)

  9. Because this is a football forum. DOT being compared to a Norwegian traitor because he’s sooking up to Brian Graham and the luvvies in a sleeping with the enemy way is not really a party political statement, or indeed connected to Scotland being held in a coercive, abusive relationship.

Given you’ve abandoned Morton for the last few years, can we expect to see you in with the union bears at Ibrox on Thursday?

  10. I was surprised at Waters being brought on as a sub rather than a more attacking option given we were a goal down, and yes, with hindsight Power should maybe have impeded the runner in the build up to the goal, but overall we matched them all over the park. Mullen was superb, and his kick outs from hand were reaching the D of the opposition’s penalty area - astonishing for a player carrying an injury. Strapp was immense despite some rough treatment. Shankland was reduced to mediocrity. With Oakley on, we would have won that but can’t fault the effort and commitment of the entire team. Now let’s bring that to the league starting with giving Partick a doing on Saturday. Imrie still doing a great job so let’s get the playoffs on his cv.

  11. Listening to George on Radio Scotland this morning and Dougie’s preview, I’m getting the impression we might see a surprise appearance tonight. Maybe not in the starting line up but more likely on the bench. I may be wrong, but both seemed to be denying George would be fit without ruling him out. Mind games. Wee wager on first scorer maybe? Must be huge odds available…

Person involved did run the line v Airdrie,  something else that made that particular incident all the more laughable.

He must be one of the more recognisable figures in the shed.

Remember that incident with Chick Cavanagh. What a coincidence…

Leaving all of the above aside,  the worst and craziest stewarding decision I have ever witnessed was the day two male stewards arrived and spoke to a regular fan standing beside me.

To be fair, the two stewards were visibly embarrassed and apologetic as they told the guy they'd been instructed by their supervisor to tell him to remove his yellow North Face jacket because he may have been mistaken as being a steward by other fans.

When he protested pointing that it was cold, they told him to turn it inside out!

    Then the following conversation ensued.

But it's been raining and the outer side is wet, he said. Well we've been told to put you out if you refuse, but if you take it off then put it back on once we walk away that'll be ok.

So that's what happened and nothing more was said.

I have no Idea if it's the same stewarding company or personel that's currently involved or not, but the two stewards referred to the person making the decision as SHE.

    What ever happened to discretion?

Better not wear black or you'll end up running the line...

  14. Yes, pyro is spectacular, but particularly in a packed crowd it’s also extremely dangerous. Remember also that the main stand is made partly of wood. The club would be negligent if they allowed pyro. These things burn at a very high temperature. An accident waiting to happen, particularly in an old ground like Cappielow with lots of combustible things about.
