Because at that point we were looking the better side, albeit we’d left it late. A winner was a possibility in a game where we ought to have been behind, yet rather that go for it, Mullen was told to hold onto it. The guy in front of me absolutely lost it at Imrie for that.
Or, they were well aware of the Airdrie score at that point so weighed up the limited benefit of chasing a winner with the playoffs a losing battle even if we won vs risking the point as we try to see off any threat of falling to 9th.

the same thing happened last season where he disappeared for the end of season matches.
Well, no, he didn't. He got injured last January and didn't throw a ball in anger for 11 months.

Airdrie being 2 nil up in Kirkcaldy is also very much baws.

One consistently amusing forum trait is that once everyone gangs up on a player "he's done, he's shite, he should be benched etc etc etc" that player steps up to the the plate and scores a crucial goal. Fair play done, shite, benched Mr. Broadfoot.
Somewhat irrelevant when the deficiencies that led to those comments are nothing to do with his ability to join the attack at set pieces but rather his inability to keep goals out at the other end.

It absolutely should not be the chairman deciding that. We're one of (if not the) lowest paying full time clubs in the country. The idea of completing ruling out recruiting older players dropping down from a higher level is absurd.
That quote doesn't indicate who made any decision though.
In the latest GM video, he talks about weekly meetings between the manager, the chairman and the GM and that Dougie has presented his strategy for the team going forward.
So whilst that quote has come from Laird, it could just be that he knows the strategy that the manager has presented and they have all agreed to?

Wilson back for the run in is a big boost.
Dougie confirmed in the preview that he's trained all week but might not quite make it for tomorrow, bench if anything.

Shame Arbrosth couldn't complete their comeback to send us 4th but delighted to get back to winning ways, to hit 40 points at last, can put to bed the late worry of sinking into the wrong playoffs.
All to play for.

Honestly I don't think black tie was unreasonable for the club's 150th anniversay.
It's not the 150th anniversary Gala Dinner though.
That's pencilled in for October.

Looks like they've made a quick adjustment already. £99 plus VAT changed to £99 inc VAT.

Really wasn't impressed with Imrie moaning about budgets in hospitality. We're 7 games or so to end of season. Time to maybe get over it?
Still pretty frustrating at this stage though.
We banked significant extra coin from the cup, had Boyd take himself off the wage bill and yet we were the only club in the entire division not to do any new business in the winter window.

There was a question last night about merch so maybe a follow up to that.
(The question was about the arrangement with Smiths, which’ll be reviewed. Dale said something along the lines of expecting a club our size to be generating more from merch than we are. Seemed to be a real frustration point for him so be interesting to see how that develops).
Know they have said that in the past so good to see it's still on the agenda. Catering should also be looked at if we still just get a flat fee for it.

Falkirk give Gary Oliver a new contract.

Somebody's reading the commentary.
Merch tweet out of nowhere.

Apparently that's the rule (law). Whether is SPFL, SFA rules or Legislation wasn't made clear. But that's what was said.
Has to be some crossed wires somewhere otherwise there would be no concessions, no free tickets etc.
Rule definitely in place that you can charge away fans more for equivalent tickets but discounts for specific groups seems fair game.

Something similar was suggested, Dale pointed out that if the club offers discounts then the same deal HAS (by law) to be offered to all supporters, home and away throughout the season.
As he said, if they do that then the club would be basically giving money away.
Obviously there's a balance to be drawn between an offer that just discounts current customers vs the benefit of attracting new ones and obviously it would have to apply to home and away.
The rest of that point didn't make much sense though like saying you can't run one-off promotions or offer a deal to a specific group. Happens everywhere (student, NHS, people dressed as pirates etc).

It was abused far too much. Isn't that why it was done away with? I've started taking my 10 year old with me and I think £5 for her is excellent value although she was free earlier in the season. When did it change?
Think it was on Iron Man's watch - that and Student discount was withdrawn basically saying everyone claiming it was stealing their rightful money.
Tightening concessions rather than removing is a valid alternative.

The fact that Boyd was handed a 2 year deal so we could have been stuck with him for another year had he not chucked it easily pushes him into the worst spot.
