Don't think there's any such rule.  There is a rule about geoblocking for around the time of Saturday afternoon games but outside that fairly narrow window it is allowed.

There might not be but I do remember a big English Premiership game involving (I think) Man City earlier this season taking place on a Tuesday night.  Folk obviously questioned why neither Sky or TNT were broadcasting it and the answer given was it was a postponed Saturday fixture and was still subject to the 3pm blackout rule

As it’s not on a Saturday afternoon, it doesn’t need to be geoblocked. Last Tuesday’s game at Raith was streamed on PPE for a tenner, including commentary and replays. Have to say their coverage was excellent with a more or less neutral commentator who had done his homework on us.

Is there not a rule in place that it can't be broadcast as it was originally a Saturday game?  Unless I'm mistaken the Raith game was always meant to be a Tuesday night which is why they could do a stream.

  3. Must be such a wee shame for fans of the nine other Championship teams to be deprived of the beautiful, free flowing football they obviously all play every week when not up against the indestructible hammer throwers of Morton. 😂😂

I hope they keep insults coming it obviously motivates our guys.

    Surprised by that.

Bit scunnered by this.  I've got 2 Motherwell supporting mates and a long overdue Saturday session at the football was getting planned for this.

BBC clearly think with our current good form and Motherwell's dodgy form, a potential upset is on the cards.

  5. Not a chance we'd be getting Devine, if there's a chance of him going out on loan he'll got to another Premiership club easily.

I really hope it's just a rumour about us being black listed for OF loans.  It's a complete joke to tarnish the whole club just because our manager at the time was a complete tool.

Imrie in the tele saying that Wilson can play rightback, centreback and centre midfield so makes sense why he wanted him as long as he can get and stay fit.

Got to be to play at centre back to allow either O'Connor back to right back or take Broadfoot's place and play with O'Connor at CB and Blues RB.  the thought of Wilson at RB with his pace gives me the fear.

Retro top a bit of a shambles whoever is organising it.
They took £53.99 from me in May because I had paid for delivery, I got £53.99 refunded in June, now I’ve got an email to go and collect it at Cappielow and find a different way to pay for it.
Obviously I choose to get it delivered because it isn’t convenient to get to Cappielow.

They finally took the £53.99 payment from me yesterday and sent an email to confirm this but nothing about whether it’s been shipped. I’ve had to download the Shop app which tells it’s been shipped so fingers crossed I’ll get it this week.

You’re right it’s been an utter shambles but I’ve not made a big fuss about it as I’d technically not paid for anything. However they have my money so they’d better get it to me asap.

I know some folk have now got their tartan shirts, and assume that as I ordered both for delivery, mine have been held back so they can arrive together.

But that’s now 14 weeks ago today I ordered those shirts, and I’ve still got nothing. Nearly two weeks since the last update and no confirmation that sending them together is the policy. An indication that the tartan tops can be collected from Cappielow, but not if that applies to shirts ordered for delivery, and no sign of the chevron shirts when the initial indication was that the complicated design of the tartan ones were the reason for the initial hold up.

If this was anyone else, I’d be going off my tits by now. I suspect we’ll get another update email from your man Ross Dunbar when he sees some grumbles on here, but to be honest, I’m getting a bit sick of being thanked for my patience.

For all the positive steps the club have made and are making, this fiasco has been terribly disappointing.

Aye this is starting to rip my knitting and all and to make matters worse I'm only waiting on a tartan shirt!  I emailed Ross Dunbar on Friday morning simply asking the question if any of the tartan shirts had been dispatched to customers and not had a reply but I see above he may be on holiday.  His emails should still be forwarded and dealt with however.

I can understand trying to keep postage costs down by sending folk who have ordered both tops together, but not folk like myself who are only waiting on one and know its been sitting in Cappielow for well over a week now.  In fact, given how long this has dragged on, they should simply send everyone the tartan top asap regardless if they're also waiting on the chevron top.

  9. Just read the tele article and there’s no mention of an injury to Mullen. Imrie is quoted that it’s up to the two keepers to fight it out for the starting spot so looks like it was to have competition in that position!

A right back before Saturday would be a great weeks work.

My tartan jersey arrived today. It’s very disappointing.

The plaid is not a correct match for the original, they’ve used the wrong club crest for the time and the application of the crest, Matchwinner logo and sponsor feel very poor.

Perhaps they’ve just run with it after the delay and not wanting to disappoint customers, but really this should have been rejected.

I’ll be enquiring about a refund.

I'm still waiting on mine being delivered but I had a zoom in on Doddie's picture and had a look at a picture of an original below.  Apart from the wrong badge the only difference I've noticed is that the tartan is in the wrong position.  Basically the pattern that runs down the middle of the original is not the same one in the new release, it's the pattern either side of it.

Not too big a deal for me to be honest so long as the quality is good and it lasts.

Henk van Schaik (remember him?) had joined Swedish third tier side IF Karlstad after leaving Germans Eintracht Trier at the end of last season.

Vaguely remembered the name.  According to Wiki we paid Livi a "nominal fee" for him in July 2019, played one game then binned him a month later.  Pretty much sums up Hopkins' and the owners tenure at that time 🙄

  12. If there is any truth to these "rumours" (I know there isn't) and Imrie is pissed off about the budget then maybe he should take a look at some of the questionable decisions he made after January.  Specifically ones like persisting with Ali fecking Crawford, who's performances contributed to us going from bonafide title contenders to sliding down the table and missing out on the playoffs altogether and missing out on useful extra prize money.

Mark Kelly seems to be pretty busy plus the media guy obviously does quite a bit. There was a new guy hired in May (Ross something) for marketing and comms but not heard a thing from him and things seem to have went a bit backwards over the summer with some of the mails, etc coming out.

Edit to add - it was February. Not sure we're getting value for money or what he's done. https://www.gmfc.net/ross-dunbar-joins-as-head-of-commercial/

Just had an email from him to say that the Matchwinner shirts are now ready for shipment up to Greenock and another email will be sent to say when they’re out for delivery 🙂

  14. Just seen the email from the club that the Matchwinner shirts are delayed again :( Nothing to do with the club, just Matchwinner running into issues:

    Statement below:

    ---

As a supplier we are ultimately disappointed at the delay on delivering in the first drop of Greenock Morton shirts.

We quote 6 weeks from the date of purchase, and we haven't been able to deliver to our usual standard this time around due to a number of reasons.

The first reason being the complexity of the design on the tartan shirt, and having to do multiple sample runs to make sure we get the remakes as close as possible to the originals.
Secondly, and the most disappointing reason, is that our factory has had a delay on receiving the fabric for the retro collar, which has delayed the completion of the shirts.

We are working hard with the factory to get these shirts to customers as quickly as we possibly can.
We can only apologise to the Greenock Morton fans for the delay on delivering the shirts in.

We must add that these issues are solely on us as a supplier and is in no way any fault of the club.

  15. Surprised Grimshaw won't be playing across the street for Dundee in the Premiership, I'd have stuck money on him going there!

DU must be throwing silly money about if he's picked playing in the Championship again over the Premiership (if he even had any offers I suppose) and England.  It'll make watching them struggle even more entertaining.
