  1. Can't think of a more competitive season for it. For me it's Oakley for consistency, Baird not far behind, but you could give it to any one of six or seven guys and I'd think they deserved it.
  2. Ref's been absolutely appalling and let this degrade into Verdun. Routine three points, professional performance, got the game killed off early then saw it out 16 (sixteen) unbeaten. edit: oh, they scored.
  3. That's their first win since early December, too. What a wee shame for Partick.
  4. If that was the case everyone would be doing it to evade the transfer window, just being released then signing for their next club. He can't be registered as a professional for another Scottish club until the window opens. Places where the window is still open (probably Ireland and other summer leagues?), he could go there. In fact come to think of it I'm sure we chanced our arm at that about 20 years ago and we were the reason it got changed in Scotland.
  5. I understand why it's not - presumably it's candid - but I wish this was screened online for those of us overseas. Hopefully someone on here takes some notes.
  6. They make a point of saying that the strategic goals are measurable, so I think that's the exact plan.
  7. His co-commentary was genuinely excellent. Easily professional quality. I hope he has a long and happy retirement after the season.
  8. Forbinho. What a guy. He was absolutely unplayable around 2016. Nice chap too.
  9. In the eleventh tier of English football. Doing a favor to Willie McKay, presumably.
  10. Yeah, for an official site to do this is a bit odd. If a fan did it I'd find it quite funny.
  11. It's a shame for us that they've appointed a manager who's used to the Scottish game and they no long believe the fantasy that the Championship is so bad that a four-year-old who can do six keepie-ups is dominant. I'm all for seeing gifted youth players at our level of the game but QP were talking the talk without walking the walk. Now they're back to basics. This will - Motherwell aside - probably be our toughest test since Dundee United. I'd be happy with a draw.
  12. Not sure if this is the right place for it but: https://gmfc.net/tons-150th-anniversary-to-receive-civic-receptions/ In July Inverclyde Council will host a civic reception for our sesquicentennial. Perhaps more interestingly, Holyrood will host one, under the auspices of Stuart McMillan MSP, in October - the first time a football club will have a parliamentary reception in Scotland.
  13. Yep, credit to him. It wasn't an auspicious event, the reduced capacity, but this is an excellent recovery with just the right attitude. It's actually weird to have a well-run club to support.
  14. Pretty sure our pitch is only about a yard or so narrower than Fir Park.
  15. Killie give me the fear. Livingston, I'd call us narrow favorites.
  16. Och, that's the wee-est of wee shames.
  17. That was a confident and battling performance against a mid-table Premiership team. Even though our first goal was a complete giveaway there was no stopping us in the first half and even the nervy finish wasn't that bad. I think as we raise the trophy aloft at Hampden in May we'll look back on this as the pivotal moment.
  18. Nervy last few minutes. Got to say I thought the tackle on Muirhead there wasn't even a foul, much less a yellow.
  19. Oakley looks exhausted. He's been so key to how we play but he's run himself ragged. God we are so good.
  20. The only downside is there's a very low percent chance we hold onto him this summer.
  21. Knew the second he ran onto that he was going to bury it. Who do we want in the Europa League next season?
  22. This is the absolutely key point. If the GM expected the tickets sold to increase in a straight line, he's woefully naive and even going against the club's own knowledge: if you give fans a chance to do something last minute, whether it's buy a ticket or line up in Sinclair Street, a very high percentage are going to do it last minute, because the cultural impetus for lower-league fans to buy in advance just doesn't exist yet. This isn't the NFL or even the EPL, this isn't something that people decide to do weeks in advance. Maybe that cultural shift will come with time, but for now it doesn't exist, even for Cup games like this (Old Firm excluded.) Worrying lack of awareness here of a pretty basic fact about your core customers.
