As Hamcam says it is rock or hard place (and not entirely unexpected given the recent history of our current absentee landlords).
Both options have something to recommend them to avoid the project being effectively stillborn but I think I need some time to weigh it up before choosing between the poisons.
I think it's a measured statement that covers some of the areas of concern and puts a bit more context around the budget issue that's blown up since Hopkins departure. I don't have huge issue with what MCT say on Cappielow as that was always going to be a tricky problem but I'm relieved that although our financial position is very difficult it is not quite as grim as it's been painted.
That was one of my first thoughts too. From the meeting it is clear to me that capital investment will be required for ground improvements rather than routine maintenance. Separating the club and ground has always concerned me but if what I heard tonight is right then there is some pretty good mitigation.
I thought long and hard about contributing to MCT and decided in the end to go with it. The main reason was the possibility of reducing the overall debt and hopefully make the club a more attractive prospect to a potential buyer.
I'll be sticking with that decision but do sympathise with your general point that MCT should be using their 'influence' to highlight just how out of touch the BoD seem to be with the views of fans.
Is that the only options available?
It may well be heresy but I'm doubtful that promotion is realistic until something radical happens to ownership. no matter how many hammer throwers or 'legendary' lower league journeymen we unearth.
Joe along with Joe Harper were my boyhood heroes and he was a pleasure to watch. Always busy and looking for the ball, a thunderbolt shot and great vision when it came to picking out a pass. 100% guy in all respects and a great servant to the club.
Finding the right players is far more important than a rush to spend. We appear to have made a few panic signings and really need to ensure we spend a bit more wisely.
Of course it's an alias and a tedìous bore as they usually are. Shove the cvnt and his mate beetee on ignore and wait for the next witty inadequate to arrive.
