  1. Would love it, but he's club captain at Ballymena, who just lost the NI Cup Final last weekend. I think he's well liked over there, so would be surprised to see him back. He might be interested in the Stranraer job if Aitken comes to us mind you. I think he coaches one of their youth teams beside playing.
  2. Brian Reid is the new boss of Conferende side Nuneaton Town.
  3. Nacho Novo has signed for Carlisle United until the end of the season.
  4. Shiels has said in today's Tele that Smith has been signed for the development squad, and should hopefully push for the first team. I don't think we should be expecting too much of him.
  5. I'm fairly sure that loan players can't play against their parent club, so it shouldn't really be an issue.
  6. East Fife have signed Kevin Rutkiewicz on an 18 month deal. Had no idea he was back in Scotland and looking for a club, he might have been worth a look until the end of the season.
  7. A former striker who may be available... http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/25621084 FWIW, he would do a great job for us. Surprised to see him without a club right now actually, he was very decent for Luton and York City in the last few years.
  8. Gutted for the big man. At 33 years of age, that could be a career ender.
  9. Kelly is a left back, an area which we've struggled in this season, so it makes sense, but Kelly has been starting of late, keeping Danny Grainger out of the team. I'd be surprised to see him sent out on loan at the moment.
  10. Former loanee Jason Naismith has signed a 3 year contract extension at St Mirren. He has been playing at right back, keeping David van Zanten and David Barron out of the team of late.
  11. Aitken comes across as a good guy in interviews, and he's doing a great job with Stranraer, especially considering they've probably got the lowest budget in their league. Might just be an outside bet for the play-offs.
  12. Queen's Park, a wee diddy amateur team who play in League 2.
  13. Masterton was probably one of the better passers of the ball that we've had in the last 10 years, and his set pieces were a dangerous tool, but he was as slow as a week in the jail, had a heart the size of a pea, and just didn't have the awareness to ever go far in the game.
  14. Stevie Masterton and Iain Diack have both been called up to the Scottish Junior select squad ahead of a Quadrangular series in Ireland.
  15. Former boss David Irons is in caretaker charge of Carlisle after they sacked their manager Greg Abbott after 6 years at the helm, following a poor start to their season. Irons will be assisted by midfielder Graham Kavanagh. Someone order some Grecian 2000 quick, that dugout will be in serious need of it!
  16. Was on P&B aye, in the Ayr v Airdrie thread on the League 1 forum. I was pretty shocked myself, seemed to always carry himself with a quiet dignity, so someone must have really pushed his buttons for him to react like that.
  17. Just reading about his antics after the game against Livingston on Tuesday night. Was apparently trying to get into the crowd for a square go with a fan after the game, and had to be restrained by stewards. Surprised he didn't do something like that whilst at Cappielow, given the levels of abuse he suffered at times.
  18. He was moaning at the weekend about not having a club, so I suppose not. Them's the breaks really, easy with hindsight for the lad to say that he should have taken the deal with us when he was offered it. I think most realistically expected him to get a club at least at Championship level.
  19. A certain Mr A. Williams has signed for Luncarty Juniors. Seems like he's got out rather early from his stint at Her Majesty's Service.
  20. Another one deserting Celtic Nation before the season has even started?
  21. Admittedly, Kean signed just as I was moving abroad, but I did see him in a couple of pre-season games, and the Kean/Kelbie partnership was pretty horrific.
  22. Stewart Kean has found his level at Hurlford United, after being released by Stenhousemuir.
