Just out myself through the highlights from yesterday, and we looked absolutely diabolical. Passing was all over the place, out muscled constantly in defence, and didn't appear to have any sort of idea what we were doing in the final third. Unless we can get things sorted with our finances and get a few more players in, this is going to be a painful watch this season. McKenzie Carse is not going to solve any of the problems in this squad.

I understand it must be tough at the club at the moment, but by fuck, Ian Murray doesn't make it any easier. His job has to be to keep everyone motivated and away from the noise. Seen from twitter earlier that Celtic are close to agreeing co-op deals with East Kilbride and Dumbarton. I wonder if we've been scoping them out for a Championship arrangement as I don't think they have one at our level?

I see Russell Gordon has stepped down from the MCT Board now. I know it's been a bit of a revolving door at MCT for a while, but I honestly don't see how it's possible to operate and progress with such a constant turnover at board level. Which is absolutely no criticism for the volunteers who have stepped up and then stepped away, I totally get that the time demands must be significant. It's just an observation.

Since taking over as manager of Morton, Ian Murray has presided over 18 games in all competitions. He has 4 wins, 4 draws, and 10 defeats, with 16 goals scored and 31 conceded. We've failed to scored in 7 of those games, including in a 0-4 defeat to League 1 Stenhousemuir, a 0-4 defeat to a basically already relegated Ross County, and the league cup defeats this season to Lowland League Linlithgow Rose and League 1 East Fife. We haven't won since beating Arbroath in March. He's signed a team of absolute third rate jobbers. His position is untenable, he has to go tomorrow.

Well that wasn't great. Showed a real lack of sharpness early on in the half - it's obvious we've only played one friendly. Very one dimensional but we should have went on front, not sure who got on front of Sandilands shot. They'll feel aggrieved not to be in front, hitting the post and a big shout for a penalty that looked a dive from where I was standing. Need to add some pace to proceedings, expect to see McLuckie and Garrity on fairly early in the half.

I work with a Jambo who says Sandilands is very highly rated, and he had a good season at Montrose last year with 10 league goals and 5 assists. We should be done with midfielders now, definitely need someone to put the ball in the net, and a first choice goalie is an essential.

Cannot believe the yellow and navy one didn't win. We don't deserve nice things.

Felt Delaney was one of the most improved players in the early days of Murray in the dugout, but like many others his form took a dip in the final month/6 weeks of the season. I'd still rather he stayed for next season as he's a reliable enough player but I'm not too downhearted that he's away.

On this point, Murray has been really quiet this pre season. Even when the new signings have been announced I don't recall seeing any quotes from him. As for the out of contract players we don't want another situation like last year, waiting around on jobbers like Shaw to agree a deal. Line in the sand should be drawn and we move on.

The pitch probably hasn't looked better than it did last season since before Hopkin ruined it. So in that respect, losing the groundsman is definitely a loss.

Queens Park fan over on P&B saying he's heard that we're about to sign Grant Savoury. Was highly rated a few years back but he's been constantly injured for the past 2 or 3 seasons. Not sure I'd be wanting to take the risk.
