I’m aware of how miserable this sounds but I wouldn’t be lining up to give anyone any praise this year.

The tiny amount of tickets sold for the 'player of the year' night would suggest that you're not alone in your thought process.

Airdrie currently 1 up against a depleted Dunfermline side (fuck you Neil Lennon).

Not to be that guy, but is there not some rule in place about playing a deliberately weakened side? Teams used to get pulled up for it all the time.

  3. There's Curtis Main giving it the old "I'd love to stay next season if there's a possibility" line in today's Tele. The Curtis Main that played on Saturday against Arbroath is a player you'd be happy to see at the club next season, but consistency has been an issue. If he bucks that trend and shows the Arbroath game form over the next 5 games then he'll be well in with a shout of a deal I reckon.

    Fully agree with D1874 above.

I'd add that it's hugely pleasing to see the mercenary George Oakley having jumped ship for a well-funded wannabe title contender, only to realise that his new custodians are actually shite.

Rumour is he's about to do it again, to rejoin Imrie at Raith Rovers.

  5. Had to dial off because I got bored listening to someone who wouldn't stop going on about how he knows the Easdales and we should be down on our knees for them instead of Estrella. Whoever was chairing should have moved it on much earlier, a total riddy.

I noticed “Si” Ferry saying that Kerr Robertson has came in and been “incredible”. I wouldn’t argue with you for disregarding his opinion entirely right enough.

    Well that's handy

  7. The last few games have shown me that we could probably do with another option up front, if we could possibly find a loan to supplement Main and Brophy. As soon as we've made subs, or in Saturday's case been missing Brophy altogether, we've struggled to keep the Murray game plan going.

Murray in the Tele confirming Lee Hollis has joined as new Keeper coach. Ex Airdrie and Motherwell keeper who's coached Cumbernauld Colts and Queens Park ladies team recently.

Glad we have someone in at least.

I mind him as a goalie for Airdrie and Motherwell, he was decent.

  9. Got to say, I thought at the time that the second one penalty was a shocker from the ref, but fair play to him, it's a definite penalty.

I did feel that Dunfermline probably should have had one themselves in the second half. Annoyingly the highlights didn't show the incident.

Feels a pretty big game in terms of what play offs we will be focusing on this season. Win and we can focus up the way. Lose and we go 5 behind Dunfermline who will also have 2 games in hand and Queens Park away becomes massive on Saturday.

Would expect a few changes tonight to freshen things up, would ideally like to see O'Halloran come back in if fit.

    Johnson

    Ballantyne Wilson Owens/Reuben Delaney

    Gillespie McPherson

    Moffat Lyall O'Halloran

    Brophy/Main

IMO if O'Halloran plays, it needs to be central in behind a striker/strikers. He's been largely ineffective for me in a wide role, but played really well in the game against Ross County.

If Kris Moore/Jackson Longridge are still unfit, I'd prefer seeing Owens in alongside Rueben, to allow Wilson back into the middle of the park.

Also, only one of Brophy and Main should be starting, that didn't work at all on Saturday.

  11. I see the EGM has been called for the 2nd of March, 7pm at the Morton Supporters Club. Hoping we get details of the Estrella Group proposal in good time before the meeting to give everyone a fair chance to digest and come back with discussion points ahead of time.

Saw the video of our penalty shout. That's never a penalty. The Raith player doesn't "go in" two footed - he places himself in front of the ball, feet down, and cleanly wins possession.

I thought at the time is was a good tackle and couldn't understand the people around me losing their minds over it. Mind hasn't been changed after seeing the highlights.

  13. Surprised that Lopata-White is straight into the team over Owens who performed really well in the Ross County game.

Interesting to see how we line up, as that looks a pretty traditional 442 to me, unless it's Brophy in the number 10 in place of O'Halloran.

Does the playing for two teams rule still apply?

Yeah, its been brought up recently given Steven Welsh's situation, having been recalled by Celtic and played a coupe of games for them, after being on loan at Motherwell for the first half of the season.
