  1. That Broadfoot performance was laughably bad. O'Connor and Baird is clearly our best CB partnership.

It's been rubbish for weeks now. Players have not got a clue. 5 losses in a row. 1 goal in 7.

Muirhead missing the penalty sums his 2024 up but Crawford missing from about 2 yards was embarrassing. He's also been someone that's not had much criticism but he's been off it for months. Imrie needs to do something different tactically wise as teams just stick a player either side of Oakley and that's the whole plan fucked.

Bit of a must win next week.

  2. Utterly appalling and that one's on Imrie for his team selection/formation. Gillespie in an attacking midfielder role and French in CDM ffs. That starting XI has absolutely no pace and it showed with getting into their half about 4 times in the whole 1st half. Stupidity from Power for the 1st but it was coming. For some reason we were dicking around playing cute little passes and we'd had a few warnings before the goal. Especially on a pitch like that just clear your lines.

Subs made a difference, especially Bearne who should be playing more. He has pace and can run at a defence and so unlucky with a great header off the bar. Bizarre he's not been playing more. Better option than Gillespie/Blues/Crawford out wide.

Not good enough and we're utterly toothless without Oakley with Muirhead putting in a shocking performance. I'm hopeful that once Oakley is back we will be fine but we could have really made the playoff spots ours in the last few weeks but we're now back to a proper battle. Hopefully ICT continue to be shite and keep us away from 9th.

If a player's not performing well enough in training and/or game time then he shouldn't be playing, whether we gave him a two year deal in the summer or not.

I think for the minimal game time he's had this year, he's done well overall. Not much you can do when you're getting 10 minutes cameos here and there. Must be worth getting him back in with McGrattan and Quitongo severely off form and Blues (albeit he's been OK) never being a wide player. He's got pace and a good delivery so should be getting more gametime but for some reason Imrie doesn't fancy him.

He put in the ball that won us a penalty v Dunfermline, assisted away to Arbroath and was probably our best player that day and sure he did well in the two cup games beforehand. Then got bombed out never to be seen again.

  4. That was rubbish. Constant hoofs which Gallagher and Holt lapped up. We're just a bit shit without Oakley and our pressing game seems to have disappeared.

We need a Plan B until Oakley comes back, whether that be a change of formation. I'd like to see Bearne get a chance. He had a good spell in December time and then was suddenly bombed out and we haven't seen him since.

4th should have been ours but now I'm back to looking at 9th. Partick away next so doesn't get easier.

  5. Frustrating not to win that as we absolutely battered them 2nd half. Oakley has to score but it's a good save from Ferrie.

Defensively brilliant once again. Don't think they had a single shot in the 2nd half.

Unbeaten run continues and happy enough with a point.

To add, I've never seen a team that dive as much as QP. Incredible. Paton spends more time on the deck.

  6. Was obvious we needed some pace and natural width all game, especially when they went down to 10 men. I thought Blues was much better when he went into the middle but was completely lost out wide. Haven't been impressed with him out wide since he has been there and would much prefer Garrity/McGrattan/Bearne out there instead.

3-0 is a great result regardless of Arbroath's situation and we handled the 2nd half much better. 8 clean sheets in 11 games is bloody impressive.

He has been excellent and a real turnaround from the start of the season and all credit to him, he also gives us something a bit different someone who isn't frightened to bring the ball out of defence rather than just launch it reminds me of Ambrose minus the back flips.

Agreed. His ability to pick a pass in-between the lines has been a real threat to our attacking phases of play. I think the first goal v Ayr for example came from him, not to mention a good assist for the 3rd.

He maybe needed time to get back up to speed of Championship football but he's really came on.

I think there'll be changes regardless of how well we played on Saturday. I'm sure Imrie has learned his lesson from the last time we had three games in a week and go for some fresher legs, especially in midfield.

Would expect O'Connor, Strapp, Power (if fit) and Boyd in from the start.

Or not. Of the changes that perhaps could have been made, Bearne and McGrattan weren't them. Very slow looking team.

  9. That was fantastic. Thought we played excellently overall considering the conditions. The wind and torrential rain made it a fight and the players were brilliant in that regard. Chucking their bodies into every tackle.

Bearne is really coming onto a game. Thought he was our most dangerous player and a fantastic assist for an excellent McGrattan.

Mullen very good. Wilson also very good in both positions. Great to see Strapp back and loved the passion at the end from him.

Massive result which brings us right back into it. Huge couple of games coming up. A managerless Queens Park most likely on Saturday.

Arbroath stewards were a disgrace btw. Forcing fans to stand in the rain as they only allocated us about 60 seats in the stand, with them initially closing behind the goals. Glad some club officials came over to fix it and tell them to open it.

  10. Don't see the point in Wilson coming back. Didn't think he was overly good last time and would rather we prioritised other positions. What this means for King as well I'm not sure.

Crawford going would be a massive blow. He's instrumental in how we play under Imrie. If it's a like for like replacement with Wilson then it's a massive downgrade.

  11. Good listen. Glad but also sad to hear they both regret leaving us. Tidser especially - one of my favourite ever players and an absolute joy to watch.

Wonder if he could still do a job as he is the type of player we are missing in the midfield. Probably too old now though.

  12. Pretty happy with the signing. We've got options to change it now which is night and day compared to even 2 weeks ago.

We do seem to have a majority of the squad signed up for next season too. That's Pignatiello, Baird, Gillespie, Lyon, Blues, Crawford, King, McGrattan, Muirhead and Oakley all signed up for next year from the top of my head. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing just yet...
