Good shout. I'll never forget how incensed Bobby Thomson (re the sending off) was because of that bass feigning injury.I was in the stand that day, I'll never forget the rage towards him by all the fans about me. Bobby had to be dragged off the pitch twice! They named a stand after Jardine, should have been a theatre .

I know it’s a long shot, but I’m hoping we can offer James McCarthy a deal!

Why? Not kicked a ball for god knows how long, also injury prone! Further to that ,I was amazed when Celtic offered him a 2 or 3 year contract, no thanks!

Fair play, just don't understand why these extensions were announced on a public holiday, why the urgency?

There's literally nothing to connect the extensions with any potential Strapp deal which is nothing more than a newspaper link right now.

What makes you say that money had been found because strapp is away? It could be the dalrada money or the club are planning to use the money fron the celtic game.

As I said, I hope I'm wrong!  I just find it strange that this kind of business was carried out on new years day!

  5. Hope I'm wrong, but it looks like the funding for these contract extensions, is because wee Strappy is away, and that money has been found for the "pot" .If so, I wish Lewis all the best, hopefully he can get a better gig than Dynamo Tiblisi, but at the end of the day its all about showing his talents in the champions league!

  6. The funniest projectile incident I've witnessed at Cappielow was in the late 70s anglo scottish cup game when Nobby Styles ( the then Preston NE manager) got rewarded with a greasy pie on the back of the napper for gesticulating to the ton fans in the main stand. He tried to complain to the polis, but was sent packing!

If you're well aware of it then why are you asking about 'financial gains' from making cutbacks? Because there will be no such gains - the skyrocketing costs of keeping the lights on will immediately cancel them out at Morton just like 99% of all other businesses right now.

Aye you're right, I stand corrected. Jeezo, you're worse than my missus, got to have the last word. 😛

Have you been living on a moon of Saturn for the past 6 months?

There's not a business in the country that is "freeing up budget" by making cutbacks right now - they're being made to keep their heads just above water. And unless there's either enormous government intervention or an enormous backtrack on the ridiculous energy war that western Europe has foolishly lolloped into, most of the businesses that even achieve severe cost cutting still won't survive the coming winter.

At what point will people wake up and realise that the shit hitting the fan every day in the news also applies to GMFC? There is no energy price cap for businesses under the current system.

I'm well aware of what's happened in the last six months, just asking for a bit of clarity from the club just now,  that's all.

  9. Whilst I appreciate the need for cost cutting, i.e getting rid of the reserves/ development squad, did this free up a financial gain for the budget for the Morton first team, and will this allow the manager to make some more signings to an already heavily depleted squad? Who knows! Also as an MCT member, can anyone please clarify what went wrong with the "exciting" sponsorship deal that never happened. ( and why). Ton fans are getting  a raw deal here, hence the lack of clarity on the official website and from MCT. Not asking for much, but the weekly update is poor, hence the lack of activity on this forum! I am getting increasingly worried about the direction that our beloved historic club is heading towards!

In that case we might be forced into playing passes along the grass, a bit like Scotland last night with our target man missing. Could be a blessing unless Dougie goes for a similar replacement.

    Have a glass of water!

  11. We should push the boat out to keep Strappy! Pity he's out of contract, will be a huge loss to us if he does leave. He'll probably be going to a decent premier league team. Were Hearts not rumoured to be looking at him a couple of seasons ago? Robbie Neilson was nae stranger to a long throw in also!

  12. Is ton tv live streaming been binned for next season? If so, not worth me renewing my season ticket! Will keep up my MCT and lottery dues, but due to personal circumstances I can only attend a few games per season and the stream option was a good one for me!

You seem like a right fanny.  The type of fan who'll clap the club I love into its grave.

At least I only seem like one! For a fan who "loves" the club, I've not witnessed much love from you towards them, .....just absolute pish!!

His actions over a decade ago aren't really for us to worry about though. The endless tail wagging over this is OTT

Direct discrimination no matter the previous circumstances is totally unacceptable in any workplace! No wonder the team don't applaud the crowd before kick off! Totally on the same level as you!
