  1. After seemingly not being in Mcbookies ranks for the Inverness job, Imrie has now be placed as joint favourite..
  2. Seems like a real coup if he can stay fit by the reports from Dundee fans. More optimistic about going forward now. The back 5 of MacDonald, French, Darragh, Baird and Waters sounds a whole lot better already.
  3. Tyler French from Dundee, CB/RB. Dee paid money to sign him from Wrexham.
  4. Eventually getting that Nadir Ciftci signing over the line.
  5. Interesting that the gaffer is teasing a signing - hasn't done this previously. Wonder who's got him so excited?
  6. I don't imagine we are going for youth if it's a loan deal, I could see someone with a bit of experience. A quick think about who would be available in the SPL only brings Jamie Brandon to mind. You'd have to think that the second player would be an attacker with Oakley out. In that position, a younger striker looking to challenge Muirhead is fine by me. On the past two showings (free kick aside) he needs it.
  7. Appears to be quite content in leaking content to fans for his own gain too.
  8. Would much rather have Strapp playing centre back with Baird if it meant breaking up the partnership with Broadfoot which is a complete disaster. He was competent enough there previously, albeit in a back 5/3.
  9. I wouldn't be adverse to seeing a young striker being picked up (potentially on loan). I love George and Robbie up top but I would like to see a different type of striker, a different option off the bench. Especially with how injury prone Jai is, we really lacked some raw pace on Saturday. However, the defensive positions are the priority.
  10. Not sure how he's been in recent years but Jason Naismith has been released by Cove. Can cover RB and CB - wouldn't be adverse to it. Sort of player I can imagine Dougie would get a chime out of
  11. I like his confidence on not losing anyone. Even if someone comes in for Crawford, the gaffer is looked upon in high regard by his players. Anyone of note sign for any league rivals recently? Might be a sign of who we tried to bring in.
  12. I just think this is an odd signing. Imrie mentioning he can fill in at the back is worrying enough. He's slow and lanky, not ideal for a RB. I could see King going on loan until January. If we can get two signings in I'd be making 1 and giving Crawford a new deal.
  13. Replacing Crawford with Wilson makes zero sense.
  14. Pal was collecting our tickets for Ibrox today, appeared that training was taking place at Cappielow and there were a few unfamiliar faces training. Not sure if we still have trialists in or just waiting to confirm a new signing or two in the coming days.
  15. Tele stating Imrie still wants a centre back and right back. Will be interesting to see how we line up tomorrow, assuming we don't sign anyone else.
  16. Noticed Steve Lawson (former Hamilton and Livi) is still without a club, plays at RB and CDM. Might be worth a punt, versatile and has played in the league previously. Would imagine Imrie knows him from his time at Livingston.
  17. On top of his quite justified comments on not having funds available, Imrie also having a go at the officials today. Seems careless. There is just no way, after the improvements in support, season ticket sales, new shirt sales, the Celtic game, Dalrada etc that we should be in the position right now of not being able to fill a bench. We offered contracts to the likes of Grimshaw and Miller - surely they'd have been on more than the likes of Mullen and Boyd? Back the manager or lose him, rather simple.
  18. If I had to hazard a guess it would appear we are actually spending less on wages this season so far than we did last year. We also don't have a RB or a back up keeper or any loan players yet. Are Dalrada not interested in giving us the money for a new signing or two like last season? Mentions of them have been awful quiet this pre-season. I'm sure there's still plenty of folk interested in getting a season ticket but are looking at how bare our squad looks and not bothering. If I hadn't already gotten mine during the early bird, I would be having thoughts about not getting one as of now. People do like an exciting signing. Deane was a player to get fans off their seats, like on Saturday.
  19. Dougie ain't much taller than young Frankie, and he had an alright career.
  20. Think we've missed one here. A young guy who you could give a years contract with an option to extend it for another year incase he turns into the next Kevin De Bruyne. A player who may not be physically imposing or do loads of running but offers that creative spark we miss from our current midfield. Personally thought Gillespie was well off the mark on Saturday (and furthermore, since returning to the side mid season). Especially when it seemed Blues maybe had around 10 touches over the 90. With Blues I understand people see something in him, and so do management clearly. What that actually is, I have no idea. One thing I do rate about Blues is his forward movement, getting into the box late. It's a shame his finishing isn't great though.
  21. Fair enough. 50 caps for Nigeria and a continental trophy Vs 4 caps for Scotland and a UEFA Cup final.
  22. Schwake was part of a promoted Edinburgh team and was in TOTY that season. Mullen had about 6 first team games for a relegated Clyde side. Efe comes with bags of experience at the very top level, over 50 caps for Nigeria and an AFCON Champion. Broadfoot, regardless of personal choices, was playing for Broomhill last season. I don't know enough about Boyd to compare him with Miller but I agree with others in their skepticism over these signings. This is Imrie though we have to remember, not some absolute diddy like Gus McPherson et al.
