  1. POTY: Mullen for me. I don't think I was the only one to be unsure on his arrival but I feel confident with him in the net. He's got much better as the season has went on too. Wilson and Oakley for 2nd and 3rd. Strapp probably hasn't featured enough. GOTS: Oakley's 3rd at Tannadice - the scenes were unreal. Best signing: Strapp, I reckon we might never of made it out of the bottom two without him. Worst signing: French/Boyd, both rather poor players at this level. Seemed for Boyd that he was struggling with battles off the pitch mind you. French can't even handle battles on the pitch. Harkness never got a chance so would be unfair to include him, he may have been a top player, we'll never know. Season high: Binning Motherwell out the cup. Season low: too many in recent weeks to count, I think Fridays capitulation against Dundee was pretty hard to take.
  2. I understand the reason specific players are undroppable but when they are in the team the only ones that come to mind are: Mullen, Baird, Strapp, Wilson, Crawford and Oakley. We noticed a desire from Muirhead when Imrie started him on the bench for a while, I think he lacks that currently. The likes of Garrity and Bearne getting the odd 15/30/50 minutes to impress are more bizarre than David Iron's 45 minute trial. They both have the ability to be good wingers at this level but they, more so Bearne, play very few minutes. Someone will have the numbers on Bearne but he was the best player on the park by miles against QP. Two wingers either side of Oakley is what I would want. Pace and ability to take on a player and deliver for Gorgeous George to fire home, we severely lack that currently.
  3. I somewhat agree with the sentiment of binning the majority of the squad. But we will again be one of the lower budgets in the division next season (I know the accounts suggest we'll having a better one next season) and we've got players who can do a job. There's a few that we can rid such as MacDonald, Gillespie and Power who will be commanding good wages I imagine. I'm not sold on letting Power go though but if we are being realistic I imagine he's for the cut. Promote Murdoch to the permanent back up keeper and we also have our young utility man in Alex King (hopefully) returning. O'Boy should also be utilised as a squad player. I actually don't think we utilise the loan market all that well either to be honest and would like to see a few more in on loans to help bulk the squad. Although if Tyler French is anything to go by I'd rather we didn't.
  4. I would not be adverse to seeing Muirhead off at the end of the season. He may be a gifted player but with the style we play he is carried more often than not. I doubt many of his goals have come from open play (happy to be proved wrong). Good to see Broadfoot and Crawford too bring his arms down. Proper professionals the both of them. Broadfoot, even at his age, is deserving of another year for us, but ideally I'd like to see us have at least 4 CBs next season.
  5. A great and much needed result and clean sheet. Jack Bearne was terrific and must start next week. Special mention to the referee on possibly the worst performance of the season, so far!
  6. Surprised they weren't in attendance since Celtic and The Rangers weren't playing today. Only a handful of them are real Morton supporters.
  7. We should be dropping tickets in every school in the town, get the players in. Get the parents to take them along, even if another 500 people are getting in for free but spending money on food etc, it'll add up. It's a small but feasible solution and a way to try and bring in the next generation.
  8. We also lacking any form of creativity. Garrity brings us directness and bravery on the ball - he has to be starting for me. I don't think we've had one 'playmaker' under Imrie. When we are on form we do create chances and I suppose that's his reasoning for not having one. However, sometimes you need a Tidser, a Forbes, to help drag you through a game.
  9. I hate that lot right. I hate them. I don't consider them as a "rival" other than proximity and being in the same league. Their fanbase is obsessed with having got one over us today, their captain can't stop talking about us; we are literally in their heads rent free. Their impending liquidation will be well celebrated, especially when they play in front of 3k in a "save us" friendly against arch-rivals and supporter-less Queens Park.
  10. Sounds like a complete snooze fest. If Dunning is correct on the team selection that is utterly bizarre.
  11. Good to see he has grown up and definitely doesn't have a chip on his shoulder..
  12. My apologies, absolute blasphemy on my part. Fuck Partick.
  13. After last night, I hope we back the boys in big numbers this weekend. They're more than deserving of it. If Raith beat them tonight we have a game in hand over Partick and a chance to close the gap or to go ahead of them on GD Saturday.
  14. Obviously if we take it to extra time, who knows how it would've played out but we looked dead on our feet. I felt as if we could've made a change but Imrie obviously wanted freshness if it went that far. Absolutely stellar performances in there, I thought Lewis Strapp in particular was sensational. Wouldn't be too bothered with that set up on Saturday. If we had Oakley/Wilson fit I think we win that tonight. Unfortunately again, the big crowds do bring out the worst of folk. A good lot of those involved with "Cowshed" having Celtic/Rangers wallpapers on their phones and their chants about Naismith being "orange" was incredibly embarrassing. Few shouts at Imrie too at the end which were dealt with as expected from surrounding fans.
  15. All trains going to Greenock/Wemyss Bay fucked - the timing eh.
  16. I wonder, especially after the change of formation against Inverness if we could see the 3/5 at the back return. Mullen/Jammers French Baird O'Connor Broadfoot Strapp Power Blues Crawford Muirhead Quitongo Allows us some width with the full backs whilst also shutting up shop in the middle. With the option of bringing folk off the bench to change the formation if necessary. Wouldn't mind seeing Oakley and Jai together in a side like that.
  17. Looks like it'll be a sell out. Currently that's the only aspect I'm excited for. Come match day I'm sure I will be buzzing to get out of work and down for the game though. I wonder if we will see Oakley, wrapped up in cotton wool for 50/60 minutes?
  18. Agreed. Especially as Jai is constantly unfit, and O'Boy and now Boyd are gone.
  19. Our inability to deal with injuries is embarrassing. We only have one "striker" at the club and if he doesn't play we are fucking mince - look at the results with or without Oakley. After beating Airdrie I thought, "play offs is ours to lose", we are now looking back over our shoulders, just a bit. Hearts may ruin us.
  20. Not at the game tonight, foot is like a balloon. Mate saying Jai is clearly not ready to be playing tonight. I understand his important attributes he brings to the side but should we really be risking an already injured player instead of playing the fit ones on the bench?
  21. Apart from the game at Ibrox - and to be fair he appears to still be injured - MacDonald is absolutely hopeless. Not the first time he's palmed one into the net this season. We could've played all day without scoring. Only pass marks I'd give is for Power, Garritty and wee Bearne who came on - think he won more headers than anybody else in the front half of the pitch. Couple special mentions to the absolutely atrocious Graham Grainger (apparently he pointed to the spot before the rammy?), Alex Samuel and the twat up the back of the shed who was screaming "Get to fuck Imrie", lets hope his kind don't come back.
  22. Was just about to mention their injury crisis. Players filling in the gaps all over the pitch. If we play at our "physical" best, they'll struggle to keep up with us. No doubt a fear of inducing more injuries will keep them from doing their best attempt at emulating the hatchet men of Airdrie. We have our own fitness woes but we've got players like Garrity and McGrattan who can step up.
