  1. This was all well documented at the time. They revealed that Dougie had told them they had no future at the club with no explanation given. It appears this approach has now been resolved as evidenced by Dougie’s recent clear explanations on his plans for development players.
  2. Good to see Dougie giving an explanation on a player’s prospects within his plans. However I don’t see any insight into his youth policy there, as he’s simply saying Garrity won’t get into his team if he doesn’t add defensive responsibilities to his game. That would apply to any player, youth or otherwise. It is refreshing though that Dougie has recently started addressing the issues of our development players, rather than hearing it from them after they’ve been released.
  3. I get the above points that King and Garrity are both better served completing a season long loan period. However this would be based on all our current players being fit and having cover in all areas of the pitch. My point is that this situation would change if Strapp was allowed to leave, Wilson was injured/back at QOS, no RB is signed and Blues or McGrattan are played there. In that case we would be in need of cover down the left side, with a proven option available to bring back from loan, possibly at no/low cost.
  4. Thanks, that’s about the biggest compliment I’ve had on here recently! Does that mean between John Laird and I we could persuade Dougie to keep Lewis on for the rest of the season?
  5. https://www.greenocktelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/23997682.dougie-imrie-admits-players-saved-red-card/ “That’s what I get paid to do and that’s what I wish people would let me do, and then we can all get on with it.” Who is Dougie referring to here? Does anyone know which people trying to prevent him from doing his job?
  6. As I said, I don’t think much of that will happen in January. If we could only sign one player you would think it would be a right back. If not Dougie would likely play O’Connor, Blues or McGrattan there if Wilson’s injured or back at QOS. If Strapp’s released then King coming back as cover down the left side would make sense. Don’t see Garrity coming back till summer.
  7. Not sure what plans if any we’ll have for January. Wilson could go back to QOS if his injury is long termish, Broadfoot and Boyd could be released if we have our first choices back in those positions. We also have the question of Lewis Strapp and whether we bring back Alex King. Apart from that would be looking to bring in any additions? RB, DM, Striker and possibly Winger would be on my wish list! Somehow I don’t think much of that will happen till Summer though!
  8. Are you all actually different versions of VT without an original contribution to put forward, or are you all actually one and the same person?
  9. A gaggle of pseudo intellectuals, seemingly growing stronger within this forum! Completely oblivious to what’s staring you in the face! I actually feel quite sorry for you but don’t know how I can help you.
  10. I tried to lighten the mood actually, and I certainly wasn’t expecting an apology from you in my wildest dreams!
  11. Sorry Toby I don’t mean that but you shouldn’t have implied such a thing.
  12. If you can even think that Toby you should maybe examine your own mind!
  13. To be fair you’re probably correct in that assertion.
  14. FFS Dougie you didn’t need to go that far to prove you like kids: https://www.greenocktelegraph.co.uk/news/23991314.dougie-imrie-stands-santa-cardwell-garden-centre/
  15. Keep believing that bullshit you happy clapping bunch of naive numpties!
  16. I don’t think they so much interfered, more asked him to share his thoughts on academy players as the club have invested in that part of the club structure. I find it baffling that no-one else makes the same conclusion, based on Dougie’s completely welcome turnaround based on the board’s concerns.
  17. Sorry St. Johnstone, can’t remember his name but I remember his presence on the pitch derailed our portion push.
  18. 1. Q. Is Cappielow going to be owned by the club or by the Rae’s? (At time of considering joining MCT). A. The club. 2. Do the club want promotion? (Following Darragh O’Conner revealing last season that the manager told him as they’d reached their target of 40 points they were just to enjoy their football for the rest of the season, and persisting in playing the on-loan under-performing Hamilton midfielder, plus a source saying the club didn’t want promotion as they wouldn’t have the ground ready on time.) A. It will be difficult but with the extra funds we’ll make sure we’re ready for the start of next season if promoted. 3. Are the club happy with the way our academy graduates, whose careers are on the way up, are being allowed to leave, whilst preferring to sign older players whose careers are on the way down? A. The board have already asked the manager to outline his plans on academy players and recruitment.
  19. As an old friend of John Laird, I think that will be a battle of wits between him and Dougie.
