  1. Or £200 we can put towards a decent loan by paying a portion of the wages.
  2. I agree with most of this. However, the Easdales (I'm guessing thats who you, like all of us, are referencing) are so well known in Inverclyde that discussion of them would be inevitable. They had it at Rangers as well.
  3. If Easdale is interested then I'd explore that road before taking loans and risk our future. Regardless, if he/they took over they might provide credit rather than investment. I'm not surprised MCT haven't managed to raise enough subscriptions. Between ignoring the Lithgow concerns, appointing Gus and then the financial situation for individuals (obviously out their control) it hasn't been a fertile breeding ground for cash.
  4. No way were a Part-Time team paying full-time wages for a young, unproven gk on loan last season.
  5. I would look at it as the floor rather than the ceiling, agreeing pretty much with everything you say
  6. Fucking shut the club down if he ends up here. A total mess on the park and absolutely vile off it.
  7. Not a question I'd answer in detail given their history of taking folk to court but theres more than a few folk in Inverclyde including Mr Harte who could fill you in on their experiences.
  8. As unsavoury as they are, they bring money and run their businesses well. Wouldn't be against them investing and d getting involved but would be against giving up more than 49%.
  9. He would never have thought that it would make him money. Thats not why they'd invest. If they wanted to 6 weeks ago, I can't see them not still wanting to now. Their boy is getting game time, the fans voted overwhelmingly in favour of allowing negotiations. Unless there is another hitch (are they rid of their Rangers shares?).
  10. 30k could get us a decent striker! If the investors have pulled out then I'd be surprised if it was ever the Easdales
  11. You know, hands up, I never really factored in the debt to my own thinking. Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to have a thorough sustainability study but to do it properly we would need to spend money we progeny don't have unless there's someone qualified within the club.
  12. Closer but, ultimately, failed despite having the best chance a part-time team has had since the spfl came about. I'm sure you always pointed out that Arbroath weren't going to make it. We have been in the Championship for 7 years now. No part-time team has sustained itself in our league for that period. Its not inevitable that Part-Time teams have limited Championship lifespans but with the emergence of jumped up outfits like Cove, QP and Kelty then it will be highly highly unlikely that a Part-Time team will be able to stay in this league for years on end. I just don't see any evidence that we would be run better Part-Time. Theoretically it could work well but theoretically full-time could also work well.
  13. If we drop to Part-Time then we are dropping any chance of being in the Premiership. I know you could easily argue we've already done that but we would need to have a thorough conversation about whether a part-time Morton would be more viable then full-time. Crowds would almost certainly drop away as we slipped down into league 1 and perhaps, in time, league 2. Cappielow isn't a cheap ground to maintain and run either. There is no reason that we can't have a full-time club. The commercial side of the club is growing. Nobody forced Imrie to use budget on Gillespie, Quitongo and offer a contract to the likes of Oliver. If we go down this season then it'll fall on Dougie's shoulders unless there has been some major breach of trust from the Board which I doubt.
  14. That team really struggles without an actual goalscorer and maybe a creative midfielder. Of course, Lyon might kick on and Muirhead might pull a Shankland but that would be a huge risk
  15. Can't see Lithgow, Baird and O'Connor all starting if Imrie is indeed going to move to the way he has said he wants to play. If we are staying 3/5 at the back then we need another body or two in defensive cover.
  16. Out of position though unless I'm talking shite which isn't impossible.
  17. Imrie said he isnt sure we will get anyone else.
  18. We have no backup keeper and our forward options are Easdale, Garrity, Quitongo, Muirhead and Kabia. On top of that we have no cover for LB either.
  19. I hate their stadium. I hate that they are called Partick despite not being in Partick. Mostly though I hate that they have this following of BBC pundits and newspaper journos who sicken us to death about how much of a lovely club Partick are. All these people are just hiding which side of the Old Firm they support and, as a result, pretend Partick is some sort of moral good. The only thing I like about Partick is that when I worked close to Firhill last year, at least some of the local weans supported them rather than the OF.
  20. Having doubts over someone and sharing them on an online forum is a long way away from what you've described there. Calm yourself right down
  21. Agreed. Thought he came across like an arrogant prick in both his answers and his body language. I don't mind if a player thinks they're amazing and then goes on to absolutely rip up a league. However, his ego certainly seems to have been an issue in the past and it didn't appear to have lessened. My only hope for him being good was a Shankland at Ayr level realisation and turnaround. Can't see that being the case.
  22. Gillespie has been kicking about our level for ages. Played his most successful spell at Accies when Dougie was there and has been with Ayr and Raith too. Combatitive midfielder similar to Jacobs who was at Queens Park last season and has played for Derry as well. Not going to pull up any trees.
