  1. Applications open for a new commercial manager. https://gmfc.net/job-vacancy-commercial-manager/ Was only February when Ross Dunbar was appointed, wasn’t it?
  2. Ex player turned artist Craig Black being featured on A View From the Terrace.
  3. Well, sometimes it’s good to be called out for being a greeting faced so and so and for unnecessary negativity - particularly when there are lots of things to be positive about. So, genuinely, cheers for not entertaining my nonsense. If anyone would like the tartan top in a medium give me shout and it’s yours for free, or a contribution to the Morton in the Community season ticket appeal if you’d like.
  4. I don’t like it and have been told there’s absolutely no problem with returning it, so that’s what I’ll do.
  5. On this picture you’ll note that between the red lines are quite faint, only becoming bold where they intersect. On the reproduction they’re almost solid throughout. It may not be a dealbreaker for some (or many) but for me, added to the poor quality of the printed elements, I just don’t think it represents anything like value for the money spent on it.
  6. My tartan jersey arrived today. It’s very disappointing. The plaid is not a correct match for the original, they’ve used the wrong club crest for the time and the application of the crest, Matchwinner logo and sponsor feel very poor. Perhaps they’ve just run with it after the delay and not wanting to disappoint customers, but really this should have been rejected. I’ll be enquiring about a refund.
  7. When amateur taxidermists are stitching arms and legs to rumours that they themselves are perpetuating (perhaps even inventing) that is very hard.
  8. Is there? Can’t they all share frustration at not being able to bring in everyone they may wish to, while also sharing the understanding of the financial reality? Even if there has been some butting of heads that’s unlikely to be anything out of the ordinary in football. What do you want someone to clear up exactly? Whether or not there’s been cross words exchanged behind the scenes? To address every rumour going, unsubstantiated or otherwise?
  9. It’s not so much the necessity of filling the bench as much as it is prudent to have cover for different eventualities - injury and suspension chiefly, but also for tactical flexibility, accounting for a drop in form, etc. We can see already that having only four substitutes for a game has hampered us at this early stage of the season. We absolutely need defensive cover at a minimum, ideally someone versatile enough to play across the backline, and another utility style midfielder wouldn’t go amiss. In our existing squad you can predict where we’re going to see players missing some games - Broadfoot won’t play every game, Gillespie will have to be rested and Quitongo has had a couple of injuries pretty much every season he has played (and likely a suspension or two in to the bargain!)
  10. I’m definitely on board with the target of sustainability and ensuring we all have a team to support for the long term. Imrie has done incredibly well in the job, improving the team significantly, both through canny use of his limited playing budget and by coaching the squad to improve individual and collective performance levels. While of course I’d like to see him able to name a match day squad with a full bench with options to change things up and ample cover for injuries, I am also glad we’re not spending beyond our means. The impression I’m getting from Imrie is that he’s managing expectations - ours and his own - with his goal being to try maximise the utility of every signing, biding his time for the right opportunities to arise, etc. I expect we’ll see a defender come in relatively soon as his priority given that he expects Baird to be out for at least two months. Besides that it may again be a case of looking at younger players available on loan for little outlay towards the end of the window and keeping an eye out for free agents who may be holding out on signing for anybody for now, but may become more amenable to lower their contract expectations as time goes on.
  11. You answered the question yourself. Extraneous, conspiratorial musings unnecessary.
  12. In place of the ‘not enough money’ chat, I expect it will much more likely be the case the players have been told ‘thanks very much, but I’m afraid we’re prioritising our resources elsewhere.’ That is a good thing.
  13. Not a fan of having the black lettering on the blue hoop of the jersey. It’s a poor contrast. Has been an issue before. Not sure what colours are available but would have been good to have something that was clearly visible from more than a couple of yards away
  14. They’ll need to edit that to a 2 year deal!
  15. I don’t think a moniker is what you think a moniker is…
  16. Can’t say I remember him from our games against ICT. Does he play mainly out wide, seeing as he’s not a prolific goal scorer?
  17. “MORTON bosses have hit out at SPFL chiefs” it says at the beginning of the Telegraph’s piece on the fixture list. That’s followed up by a quote that amounts to ‘it’s a bit of a shame the fans will need to travel on the final day again, but we’re sure they will and they’ll be great.’ Bit of a stretch. Nothing to see here.
  18. Wonder if we’ll be fielding a trialist or two today. Any forum users going along to Alloa?
  19. I don’t often get vociferous on here but any chance you could just wrap this pish?
  20. Not seen it in person myself but the consensus online seems to be the shade of blue is much more ‘us’ than the first pictures made it appear
  21. Doyle always worked hard, but I agree with other posters in saying there aught to be stronger options available. Brandon, if fit, would be good.
