  1. Happy to get another attacking option in the door and improve the squad depth. Will be delighted if he can find his love of football again and contribute to our success. My only worry with our January signings is I'm not sure that any of them improve the starting 11 we've had most of the season when I was really hoping we could push on in January and get in guys who were going to be straight in to the starting line up on merit and not just because they're new signings.
  2. Find it weird that someone who moved to the UK at 15 and played loads in the UK including Scotland last year wouldn't get a work permit. Can't lie I've no idea if he would have been good but I'd have loved a bit of a bastard added to the team. Another who could have had cult hero status by the end of the season.
  3. Our squad is already an island of misfit toys with guys with something to prove and not deemed good enough for other clubs around our level and Dougie seems to thrive with those types of players so I'm hopeful he can be a useful addition over the second half of the season. Something tells me he won't be the last attacking signing we make this window either so I'll wait until the end of January before ei judge our window.
  4. Seems to be a bit of a weird attitude towards Kabia for me that's bordering on being personal and nasty from some when he's contributed to a promising season so far for the team. I'm by no means his biggest fan but He's a young inexperienced guy on loan and he hasn't quite been up to the standard required most weeks but I don't think he deserves to be singled out as a massive weak link that is miles off it like he's Adam Coakley or something. Wish him all the best for his contribution and hopefully we have replaced him with someone more consistent in Miller.
  5. He's part time with Annan so he still trains with us 2 days a week so the tele probably just has their wires crossed. He was with the squad on Tuesday coming out cappielow for training when I was down getting celtic ticket.
  6. I wonder if he will try and arrange the release of Lithgow as well. He's surely the highest earner left that's not near the squad and was our marquee signing at the time so he must be on a decent amount. If you can free up that wage as well we could hopefully see the best strengthening of a Morton team in January for quite some time.
  7. Wonder if Hynes is away on loan or been released. Was down getting Celtic ticket this morning and he came out of cappielow before the rest of the players on his own wearing civilian clothes and then rest of players came out a wee while later in training gear to car share up to parklea. Could possibly just be injured I suppose but if Dougie is looking to get some players out the door then he's probably at the top of the list given the cover at rightback we have.
  8. He was playing at the start of the season was he not? My memory isn't the best If I remember correctly he lost his man at a corner in a couple of games in a row that we conceded from (Hamilton away definitely one of the games) and then he dilly dallied on the ball at cappielow and almost cost us a goal and Dougie subbed him and he lost his place.
  9. Love it! Amazing what youre able to do contract wise when you're not battling relegation until the end of the season.
  10. Wonder if there's any truth to this or if its just an agent doing his job getting his out of contract players name in the press. Might explain why Calvin Miller has been in training.
  11. Our style of play limits what Ambrose needs to do as a centre back so I'm quietly confident that limiting his opportunities to make a fanny of things will lead to him being an acceptable option for us. Just get your head on it and defend your box Efe mate.
  12. Lithgow did feature in a few games for us recently and looked absolutely fine but he's obviously had another set back which is a shame. Even if Efe doesn't perform well enough to dislodge Baird and O'connor the rest of the season it's still good to have an actual centre back on the bench rather than rearrange the back line every time one of them is out.
  13. Even if they're only out for 3-4 weeks there's still no harm in getting the king in short term as it's a position we are very light in at the moment.
  14. Bring him home xx hope Dougie wears his tshirt at the unveiling.
  15. Announce Marc Mcnulty until January if he is still free and not injured.
  16. Imrie has clearly been trying to get strikers in this whole period as he's said in interviews that he's missed out on a few. In an ideal world we desperately need one in even until January when there are better options but I'm not sure what options are even available at the moment. Only name I've really seen people mention on here over the summer is Innes Cameron but big sectarian lafferty has surely put an end to multiple clubs hopes of loaning him. Is there any other proven strikers not getting game time? Maybe Imrie will decide in the end to not bring in someone who's not up to the level required just for the sake of it and rather save that budget towards a better striker in January. It would be extremely risky but if the people available aren't going to kick up any trees here then he might see it as not losing out on much.
  17. Shame you'd have loved it. They still talk about it in France to this day.
  18. You've quoted a post from weeks ago out of boredom or whatever you weird weird guy Speaking of pathetic attention seeking since you brought it up, when was the last time you came on to the Morton forum and actually posted anything remotely to do with a Morton performance on the pitch? Beginning to think that my gloriously successful French day was the last match you watched.
  19. Thought we had three loanees for some reason.
  20. As he's a free transfer it still leaves two potential loans to take advantage of. Fingers crossed.
  21. Got to imagine that will be Hynes out on loan as well if we can find somewhere for him. I quite like Pignatiello this season but his lack of attacking output for the team has become more obvious the longer the season has went on, and we are already blunt enough in attacking areas so hopefully Grimshaw has a bit more attacking quality in him.
  22. The attempt to win the ball was poor and I remember groaning at the time, but after that he's still got himself behind the ball along with the majority of the team. That missed tackle is absolutely no excuse for the ridiculous defensive shape that allows the ball to go wide and a simple pass played in to our 6 yard box to go unchallenged. O'connor is definitely the main target of Imrie's anger for me and I'd expect Lithgow to maybe start next game. Our defensive record has actually been good so maybe a bit harsh but in games where we do concede it's been O'Connor who's been the weak link. I'd be happy enough if Blues is dropped for King as well. No one is undroppable and after a poor performance like that he'd have no complaints, but I disagree with every time he does something bad or plays poorly that we should get rid of him etc. Lyon is out on loan because multiple managers couldnt trust him to follow their tactical instructions or train at an acceptable standard, while Blues is an almost ever present under all those managers. There's simply no comparison between the two situations that Blues should have been loaned instead of Lyon.
  23. Blues had by far his worst game for us in a while yesterday but having watched the highlights his defensive header isn't as calamitous as it looked at the game. He's headed a ball that's slightly too high for him and not cleared the danger but there's another poor clearence in to an actual danger area after that followed by Crawford getting turned too easily on the edge of the box and a couple of players who could have maybe closed the shot down better. How anyone can try and blame blues for the second goal is beyond me. The defensive shape was all over the place and it's not his job to cut off the near post pass/cross. The fact the ball gets wide and with one casual pass they're able to create a tap in from yards out is absolutely horrific defending and there's a lot more deserving culprits than blues for criticism there. His all round performance was bad enough without trying to claim that the goals we conceded were down to him. Dougie said post match that the same players are making the same mistakes and they will be dropped basically, so we will see if Dougie agrees with some that Blues was at fault in his eyes, but I'm willing to bet he will be in the starting lineup.
