  1. Another top scoop. The follow up tweet makes literally zero sense when competing for an out of contract player but it's not even worth discussing as he clearly doesn't have a clue on transfers.
  2. Good move for him and three year deal is excellent. Definitely tailed off a bit towards the end of the season but that's no surprise after being out so long. Multiple games where we picked up points changed when he moved in to midfield for us as well. Hope he can stay injury free and really progress in his career. He's probably better suited to the Premier league as well when he will have more space on the ball.
  3. Just read that MCT members get the early bird price even after the cut off date which is something at least and I probably stupidly didn't pick up on that first time around. Still think there should be more incentive but at the same time some fans complained last year that there wasn't an early bird price, so the club probably trying their best to cover all grounds as best they can.
  4. Will praise the club for having new season ticket info out by 9th May. Obviously not being in playoffs helps but seems that they're on the ball with that. Don't have any foaming at the mouth issues with the information, but main worry is there is nothing there to convince the supporters who dont automatically get a season ticket every year to buy one. The incentive last year was brilliant as it made a buying a season ticket AND joining MCT for a year worthwhile, so it will be interesting to see how sales and memberships go on the back of this.
  5. Range of emotions reading the season ticket info so will need to let it sit before I come to a final opinion. Price increase obviously first thing noticed however I understand that costs of actually running the club day to day are going to rise. Early bird price being same as the MCT price another thing that popped out. Sure last year was just an MCT price to entice new members? Not sure if I'm bothered by non members getting same deal or not yet! Price between early bird and normal price probably main issue for me. Just doesn't seem much incentive to rush in to it. I'd rather wait til squad is sorted and pay an extra £25 later in the season, and I imagine a lot of people who are touch and go with season tickets every year will be the same, especially without the streaming option which could leave to more people just deciding not to for whatever reason. Early bird buzz seems to me the time where people get excited to buy their ticket for new season and I definitely don't feel that with this offer. Edit : more I think about it the more the non price difference between MCT and early bird bothers me. For one it doesn't entice new members to join like it did last year, and also there's now no incentive to stay with MCT like last year because you'd need to pay the difference in your season ticket price if you cancelled your MCT payment.

  7. Nicky Cadden in the FIFA 22 EFL team of the season as well. Not a bad week for left backs/wingbacks who played for Morton. Hopefully next news is a 10 year contract at Morton for Strapp.
  8. Hoping that not all those accept offers but even for someone who wanted to keep the nucleus of the squad together that's far too many being offered considering three of the loanees leaving are three of our best players. McLean and Oliver seem like crazy decisions to me. Oliver has been shoehorned in this season to very little effect and McLean would mean keeping two of the slow CBs that Dougie has complained about having to play a back 3 for since he came in.
  9. This can only be a good thing if it takes off. Building relationships with local businesses who get more than just their name around the bright lights of cappielow while bringing in guaranteed income to the club, and with perhaps the hospitality offer aside at no real financial cost to the us either. https://www.gmfc.net/commercial/business-club-2/
  10. Turns out Cappielow isn't the advertising hotbed Mr Mceleny thought it would be. Will need to bring an extra cushion to cappielow next season after getting his arse skelped so badly.
  11. 9 direct goal contributions in 25 league games this season if Google is to be believed for a team in the relegation playoffs. If we find any wingers with that return next season I'll be delighted.
  12. We are usually sniffing around the playoffs for players at this time of year. Any stand out that are out of contract? Always liked the look of Dylan Easton but don't know if he's signed up at Airdrie next season. Would take Dom Thomas as a winger since we have none if Dunfermline went down. Is their keeper good or did he just have that one good game that got clipped in to highlights on twitter? Can't say any QOTS players really stood out for me to even remember their names this season but they did pump us 3-0 so there's probably the odd option to pick up there too.
  13. Is that thee Gary Harkins playing against Garrity's Annan tonight? Thought he retired years ago if so.
  14. The article in the tele doesn't actually have any quotes from Imrie that he's looking to resign almost all the majority of out of contract players, just that he's offered contracts to the players he wants to keep. Nothing really new in the article compared to his post match interview on Friday.
  15. I saw the other day that the lighthouse are doing an evening with imrie for a tenner a head. Don't see why MCT aren't doing things like that in a decent sized venue to fundraise while local pubs are smart enough to capitalise on his popularity.
  16. Got a lot of sympathy for MCT. formed and taken control of the club during Covid and a cost of living crisis. I'm sure the people who can afford it will pledge more but the worry is also that they will lose members at this time also due to people's circumstances.
  17. The last time the board told our manager who and who not to play on the final day of the season over money didn't exactly go well.
  18. I see Ray Mckinnon had a heart attack.
  19. Quite like the blue polo shirt tbh.
  20. With regards to 2011, I'm not sure if the majority of fans would have even known about the SNP propaganda on the pitch. I certainly didn't remember it. I also think politics are a lot more divisive now than in 2011 and a lot of people in general are a lot more clued up on it and how it works. Politics used to be an election season thing and a few scandals a year, but now it's been a daily occurrence in people's lives for years due to, 2014 independence vote, brexit, covid etc. My stance on if the SNP did today what the Alba party did last night would be the same. Fine to book the room and take a few personal photos, but not okay to use the footballing side of the club I.e pitch, dugouts, stands as propaganda to help promote your party.
  21. In my opinion it started off as fragile fans being annoyed because a political party they don't agree with had booked a cappielow function room and they were getting their knickers in a twist over nothing. What it had turned in to is a political party being able to promote their party and agenda on the hallowed grounds of the cappielow pitch, with cappielow used as a backdrop image for no extra cost than it would cost me to book a Birthday Party. That's then followed up by a member of said party implying out of nowhere to morton fans that they are racist because they don't like seeing cappielow used as propaganda. All in all its not a good look for the club. I don't even see it as bad publicity because no one outside of Morton fans give a flying fuck and rightly so.
  22. I agree it means fuck all about anything in the grand scheme of things and it's not going to make national news or even any headlines outside of Morton fan social media , but within that core group this had already left a sore taste in a decent number of people's mouths before the event and now after the event and Chris's actions online you've even got a lot of the people who spent all day defending it bitterly disappointed in the club. That's not good for anyone. I'm sure it will blow over though as you say. I don't see it being at the forefront of people's minds for more than a day or teo , but it's also another notch on the many " ffs morton" moments that lead to disillusionment over time.
  23. Politicians by nature are judged on their personality and beliefs and hopefully enough people like them to get elected, so while I agree with the sentiment from brendan (who obviously is right to defend their family) I don't really think his point holds up here, unless it's not his brother he's talking about. I'd have no problem calling Boris Johnson a cunt to his face for instance. What is undeniable is that him setting up a photo op in order to play the race card against criticism is an extremely cunty move. With regards to the photos, I dont like it, but if it was just people at a function at cappielow having a wee photo around the ground then fine, but they're holding up a vote alba sign with cappielow as a back drop, which I blame no one but the club for allowing that to happen. I've spent all day defending them thinking they'd know what the line is but I was wrong, and I was indeed naive and wrong about Chris earlier with Toby.
  24. Knew when I saw that twitter post that he was using those people's heritage as a defence mechanism in preparation for any criticism. Absolutely disgusting and shameful.
  25. Delighted the club aren't apologising for it while pointing out the obvious. “The Alba Party are paying the same rate as any other customer who seeks to book our lounges for a function. The club is not associated with any organisation that books the facility, other than ensuring that our terms of use are respected.“ " Morton Club Together as an entity are not involved in day-to-day club operations, including the booking of Cappielow as a function space. As mentioned in the quote, neither MCT or Greenock Morton are in any way associated with any political party, and this is a booking that has been made through the commercial department of the club."
