  1. where on the site can I find this?
  2. It was worth taking a punt on Davies with the number of goals he had scored in the Welsh league but from day 1 just never looked like working out for him here and I am glad we have managed to come to an arrangement that lets him move on & frees up some of our wage bill. As others have said he cannot be faulted for his efforts so best wishes to him on his next move. Would be delighted with Brophy & Jones. Not so fussed by O'Halloran but am willing to trust the gaffers judgement on that one - hopefully doesn't end up another McGinn type figure if we do sign him.
  3. Yeah I’m not disagreeing with you. I think it’s just semantics. I think it’s important to observe the difference between restricting the number of options he has available vs holding onto his registration and actually restricting his ability to move (as was the case pre bosman). I do wonder if St Mirren or any other interested parties tried to negotiate a fee with us. I get that they might have been scared off by the prospect of it being a 6 figure sum if it went to tribunal, but I would imagine that we would be pretty easy to deal with and would likely agree to a much lower fee.
  4. Telfer was 19 and had played 1 senior game for Rangers. Admittedly he had represented Scotland at u18 & u19 level but I still wouldn’t say his situation was all that different.
  5. I get that, and like I said the fee will likely be putting clubs off from signing him. But this isn’t comparable to Bosman because other clubs are free to register the player. Maybe this is just different shades of grey - I just felt it’s worth highlighting the difference.
  6. Not sure if it does restrict the players movement as such - if it goes to a tribunal I believe that the new club can still register & select the player in the meantime. Telfer was playing for Dundee Utd for about 6 months before his tribunal was settled, so unless something has changed Keay is free to sign for another club & be registered to play for them. Of course in doing so the new club is taking a risk that they will be hit with a hefty development fee if it goes to tribunal so that will likely be limiting the number of offers he gets
  7. I suspect that we would have offered him the deal regardless of whether or not Imrie wanted him (purely to protect the development fee). Now that he has rejected the deal, he is in the same boat as every other player who doesn't have a club. The only way he is coming back is if the gaffer decides he wants to sign him.
  8. Different Kian Taylor - the 24yo plays for Shrewsbury. This lad is 20
  9. If fit then I think both could be good options. Our squad is looking decent but at the very least still needs an experienced defender, another option in midfield & another striker (in that order of priority) so this could potentially tick 2 of those boxes. I know it has been mentioned by a few that Lamie didn't look great last season but let's not forget that he was playing in a pretty poor team. From my POV he is exactly the sort of player that is needed as the final piece in our defence. Commanding presence & loads of experience. Telfer was very good for Falkirk & Airdrie and apparently was close to signing for us again until Ross County came in. Clearly that didn't work out for him but it shows that the gaffer must rate him if he tried to sign him once before. That aside, his legend status is already confirmed for his role in Falkirks 2019 relegation so I would be ok with us signing him even if he is mince or perma-injured.
  10. Even if fully fit I don’t think he would offer much to the team. It’s 10 years since he has been in any way prolific in terms of goal return. And as Dunning says above i don’t think the optics would be very good. Fair play to him for coming out and saying this. I hope he gets his life back on track and gets a chance somewhere - just not here.
  11. Reece Lyon scores a hat-trick for Queen of the south against Edinburgh City
  12. Very interesting appointment. He has been out the game for quite a few years but undoubtedly comes with a lot of great experience. Hopefully we will see some interviews posted soon as I’m looking forward to hearing more about what he & Dougie have to say about the appointment.
  13. Papa Gueye? Seems unlikely as I would have thought he would be about their first team. Could also possibly be Peter Ambrose. From what I can see those are the only Aberdeen players who fit your description (notwithstanding either of them bleaching their hair lol)
  14. Yup this is very poor. 2 great servants to the club have moved without any acknowledgement or thanks, while Dale (who hasn’t achieved much during his short time here) gets a statement thanking him for his efforts. Little things like this take virtually no time or effort to get right, so it’s pretty frustrating and feels a bit like the club are trolling us or trying to piss people off.
  15. No matter how small the fee might have been for Lyall, this is totally unacceptable from the club. If it turns out that Keay is in the same boat then serious questions need to be asked.
  16. Great point - it’s not ideal to be releasing this sort of a statement about Dale when no official mention has been made of Millen or Farrell, both of whom have contributed immeasurably more to the club and will be far more missed & hard to replace.
  17. Bye Dale “you won’t be missed”
  18. I agree that Shaw needs to improve a lot, but he showed enough last season for me to believe there’s a good player in there somewhere. Hopefully the gaffer can help him find a bit of consistency. Even just getting the clippers out and getting rid of that barnet would probably improve his performances by 10-15% alone.
  19. Must have been an error as it no longer says that and only mentions Baird at the bottom now. Very disappointed Lyall is off. He was starting to look good and I was hoping we would be able to hang onto him
  20. Yeah it’s such a chore when you post something on a public forum and people have the audacity to actually reply. For what it’s worth, I don’t rank the design of the strip particularly high on my list of Morton related priorities at this moment either. The fact however that they have actually ordered and now started selling them with Dalrada as the sponsor before any deal has been signed is another indication that the people running the club at the moment are not doing a very good job. You could argue that making a big fanfare about strip launches & early bird season tickets while staying quiet on more important matters is a bit tone deaf from the club too, but if they hadn’t been launching the strip & season ticket then we would probably be criticising them for inactivity in this area so I will give them a pass on that one at least
  21. Who can blame Baird for taking this opportunity and getting out of our basket case situation. If there was any modicum of professionalism under the current leadership then Baird & other key players would already have been offered new contracts months ago. Delaying the sponsorship talks til now has left us unable to budget effectively and is totally unforgivable. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Imrie and any other out of contract players do the same if given half a chance. Make no mistake “MCT governance” hasn’t created this situation. It’s been created by the GMFC board, along with Dale & Laird. They all need to go before more damage is done to our club
  22. Yup I would say that’s another question for us all to email them. “If this deal is rejected, will Dalrada still be our shirt sponsor for this season? If so, how much are they paying us?”
  23. I’m no expert, but does the fact that this is based on OTC trades (as opposed to being listed on an exchange) change this? Eg if a company that’s publicly traded sees a big slide in its value, that indicates a lack of confidence in the market with a lot of people selling off the shares with low demand from buyers. As I understand, OTC value is based on person to person trades, so couldn’t this drop in price just be due to a single transaction at an agreed (low) price? Without knowing who was selling and who was buying it is hard to interpret exactly what it means. Like I said, I’m no expert so am happy to be told I’m talking shite if someone else knows better. Just asking the question
  24. As long as there aren’t any pieces of the structure which are loose or at risk of falling etc then they will still be able to play games at Cappielow either by cordoning off the affected area or by just letting people stand there anyway and get wet if it rains. It’s possible said contingency plan involves one of the above.
  25. On the subject of the vacant plot of land (and lack of progress in the development thereof), obviously stuff like that has a tendency to slip down the list of priorities in light of our razor thin margins, especially so when unforeseen bills come up as we have seen today. My vision for developing it would be to look at cost effective ways of making use of the area without necessarily having to actually build a new bricks & mortar structure. I can imagine having some repurposed shipping containers around the perimeter which would be fitted out for bar, catering & toilet facilities, then a central area having some bench seating & being covered by a tensile fabric/shade sail to protect from the elements. The cost & timelines of planning & implementing this sort of a development would be significantly less than putting up a new building in the plot. There are also a lot of businesses in the local area who would be well positioned to help with these sorts of plans (peel ports for the containers, several sailmakers nearby for the canopy, builders & joiners for the ground work & fit out etc). Obviously it would still require the club to invest a significant sum of money, but there could be potential there to have some of the costs covered by these businesses in exchange for promotion/advertising etc, and we could end up with something that would function as a fan zone on matchdays and have potential as a mixed use venue for hire the rest of the time.
