  1. I have a dream that one day, Morton will have a good left back who Morton fans don't want to move to another position for no apparent reason.

  2. Kafka's head would be spinning at this. You're arguing that these proposals are designed to 'shield the stadium from creditors' when they consist of either the stadium being used as security for a debt to a creditor, or just directly giving the stadium to a creditor. Why are you utterly convinced that Golden Casket only have good intentions towards the club and can be viewed as a neutral or even benevolent third party protecting us from malicious ones? They are the creditor that the stadium needs to be shielded from.

  3. What a condescending prick of a person. Its not as straightforward as 'choosing not to.' Are you aware that we are in the middle of unprecedented times where a pandemic has caused people to lose their jobs or take pay cuts? Inverclyde also has one of the highest poverty rates in Scotland causing some people to use food banks and let's not forget about it being the festive season and the pressures that brings. I have signed up and pledged for some time but do not assume that folk are simply choosing not to back the club. It's about priorities for for a lot of people right now - hav

  4. Before getting into the lengthy wrongs and wrongs of this on GC's part, on a simple matter of fact, why are they talking about £2M being the figure of debt? As I understood it the debt was £2.5M when MCT first entered into the agreement for a 15% stake, we've since had £1M of debt written off, and each time a further £100K is delivered a further £500K will be written off? Either £1M of debt was never written off, in which case we were lied to, or it was but the club has somehow been run at such a colossal loss (with GC covering the shortfall) over the time since MCT first made the debt cancell

  5. Well this statement is not ageing particularly well, given that in spite of receiving a £500k taxpayer's grant for literally fuck-all, the current custodians of GMFC have in the following six weeks: - not replaced the manager - not replaced the overall coaching staff like for like - not replaced the goalkeeper coach - not signed a backup goalkeeper - not signed any cunt else - now have a vacant chief executive post All in all, GMFC have now achieved the six staff cuts that they were looking for in January. So what specifically makes this 'run a stupid wee bar

  7. Where’s Dave MacKinnon? After spending last week e-mailing Hearts fans to reassure them that we shouldn’t be on their naughty list, now the shit’s properly hit the fan, he’s nowhere to be seen. Surely as the CEO he should have been Hopkin’s Line Manager? I get that you have to allow your manager to make his own mistakes, but he’s been allowed to create such an unbalanced squad without a second choice goalkeeper on MacKinnon’s watch. At what point did the alarm bells start ringing for MacKinnon here? If there was no further money available to bring in a keeper, MacKinnon should’ve been all

  9. That's a belter even by this forums standards. I suppose it's the fans fault that our club is a running joke amongst players in Scottish football thanks to how it's run. I suppose it's the fans fault that our last three managers have walked out on us in humiliating circumstances due to refusing to work under conditions set by our glorious leader, and it's worth noting that if the Alexander Easdale scenario was true then in every single one of those instances Crawford Rae swiped away previously agreed conditions from under those managers feet that left them with no choice but to leav

  11. The £18.50 pricing shouldn’t be the main factor in folk deciding whether or not to buy the stream for tomorrow’s game- rather the point that Hearts are an appalling football club, ran and supported by bullies who have tried to throw their weight around by crying victim and shouting boycott at any club who did the right thing over the summer. Yes, the stream is extortionate, but if it cost a fiver, it would’ve been a fiver more than that rancid club would’ve deserved from any of us.

  12. Not the best game. But all we should be concerned about is ourselves. That's us another point towards staying in this league we looked solid enough at the back created next to nothing on a poor park. Just get through the season fresh start and move forward hopefully as one. As for Jonathan sutherland if you didny enjoy it get yourself to fuck

  13. Partick Thistle (surely 'Partick Thistle Family Club'? - Ed.) wants to put on record its support for any measures the Scottish Government puts in place to stop the spread of Covid-19. In the current pandemic, the priority must be on saving lives and protecting the NHS. But for us as a club, today’s news that all football below the Championship has been shut down is the culmination of a series of circumstances that we, as a board, foretold last April and have fought to avoid ever since. Once demoted(emphasis mine - lol wut you were fucking relegated mate), we fought for a restructure

  15. So Morton fans have basically been propping the club up through MCT this season and now we have the astonishing scenario of a Rae family member or close contact blaming the fans for the mess they've put us in. The cheek. Get these bastards out our club. As soon as fans are allowed back i'll be there to back the team and hound the Raes out. That post has boiled my blood.

  16. Two scenarios here: 1. That's a fabrication to hide the real reason, in which case the board are lying to the support and their position is untenable. 2. More likely and far more worrying, it's true and they've made such a pig's ear of budgeting for the season that despite receiving £10K a month from MCT and allowing the manager to build a 22 man squad, they literally can’t afford to pay the wage of a fucking manager, in which case the board are more incompetent than any of us could ever have imagined and their position is untenable. No one expected budgeting for this season to

  17. Should charge £18 for the Hearts game at Cappielow with a special offer of the Queen of the South game a fortnight later for a tenner if you buy the Hearts game. Excellent way for Morton fans to pay the going rate whilst fleecing the bastards for the maroon pound.

  18. I see CFB has chucked in his 'heartfelt' eulogy on Twitter, quoting Ewan's tweet. The very person who paved the way for his departure from the club by scabbing his role during the lockdown. Utterly shameless, narcissistic and vile behaviour from Callum. But we knew all of that already.

  22. Arbroath tweeting to tell their fans of the knock on effect of our game tomorrow being called off, that the game against them on Tuesday is off, before Morton even bother to tell us when they’ve had to bring someone in to inspect the pitch is about the most typical example of the indifference of this current regime has to doing their job that you could expect. They really couldn’t give a flying fuck.

  23. I was just getting old enough to start understanding players when Lilley was at his best in his first spell with us, and it was clear that he was freakishly mobile and was leaving old duffer hack defenders in his wake without even thinking about it. He also had - and he kept this right til the end, long after his running legs were gone - an extremely powerful shot. It was a deadly combination. For all that I like and respect Kalvin Orsi for coming in from Brechin and giving 100% to the cause, he doesn't have either of these. What he does have is character, strength, and an ability to bot

  24. My fucking word. We have had more than our fair share of minter statements over the years but just wow. Begging for stream purchases when you have let the manager go and put novices in charge, have a word. No wage deferral, no cut, just a straight out bye bye to the manager? If the finances were so tight (we know they are) why have you done fuck all about it other than appeal to the fans to dig deep again? It's December. Not an ounce of marketing merchandise for Christmas, multi game packages or half season tickets. You want income? Fucking do something to earn it. In

  25. Give me strength. This is a football club with a history of embarrassing episodes that you could write a best seller about and this regime in particular is writing the best chapter in the book with their monumental fuck ups at pretty much every opportunity. It isn’t a momentary lapse- this is 11 (eleven) breaches of protocol on the same weekend that the Clinical Director got torn into another club, and a matter of days after two further clubs had to concede three matches between them. You know what, I’ll not be calling the Health Secretary about this video you refer to. Why not?

  27. To be honest, apart from some of Gerry’s stuff (I’m not condoning it, but that’s Gerry) I can’t remember anything that’s been downright abusive towards him. He’s been asked some very difficult questions and had his integrity called into question on a number of occasions, but his actions have vindicated that line of questioning. I’ve made two, possibly three enemies out of this whole scenario and saw one of them the other day alluding to borderline bullying, which I take exception to. My initial concern was that if the club were going to give an opportunity to a young, aspiring sports

For 20 years they’ve not bothered their arse with trying to maximise revenue through their commercial activities, and now they’re just about out the door, having set us an ultimatum about what they walk out with under their arm, they’re quite happy to put everything that’s left over on sale to the daft mugs that they should’ve been catering for a couple of decades back. They’ll be selling off the lightbulbs soon enough, but there have been times down the years you couldn’t even buy a key ring from them. 32. Let's just assume for a minute that Crawford is genuine in trying to protect the long-term interest of GMFC by keeping ownership of Cappielow with GC, to prevent it from being a creditor asset if we go into administration at some point in the future. There are two big red flags in that argument that should concern us all. Firstly, Crawford himself won't be around forever and will not always have a controlling interest in GC (does he even have now?). This 'promise' is only valid while this is still the case. Secondly, it assumes GC themselves will never get into financial difficulties in t

  33. I'd certainly like to have been present at this very serious business meeting, at which Crawford and the Rae hatchlings set out why investors should pay them precisely £2 million by pinning pictures of Chris 'Sanny the janny' Templeman and Iain 'no moniker applicable' Diack on a flip chart. To expand on my survey response this evening, as the club has not been developed as a capital asset by a single penny since the Rae family took ownership, then they should get absolutely nothing back for their patriarch's foolish, short-term spending. They didn't add a training complex, they didn't in

  35. I’d rather shite on my hands and clap than give that horrible lot my money after their behaviour over the summer. I’ll begrudgingly do it when we get back into games and I at least get the benefit of a day out with my mates, but not a chance I’ll be paying them, or their bedfellows next week, to watch a stream. Same policy applied to League One minnows Partick Thistle earlier in the season

  36. I endorse the first part of this message completely. But Gerry has grown on me greatly. I think he's a fantastic asset to the club. Come to think of it, I wasn't sure at all of Andy's credentials for co-commentating, but he's been amazing. Real insight into the game and some laughs along with it. I think I've seen live offerings from every club in the division now and our commentary is streets ahead of all of them.

  38. Coming on expecting to read that Crawford has trousered the grant money or that Cameron Blues actually does have nudes of Hopkin's wife that he had been blackmailing him with in exchange for new contracts and game time. Instead we get the completely shocking news that Morton are a shit show behind the scenes, there are untrustworthy snakes in the current regime and that MCT are getting more involved seeing as their contributions are effectively keeping the club going when the budget has been cut and that they are planning for next season. Absolutely rocked by these completely unexpec

  39. A number of points to make on this: 1) This is a general forum point right now: we need to stop focusing on Crawford Rae as the significant factor behind anything. This has been the mistake that people have been making for a decade: to assume that Golden Casket would operate like some French medieval estate and just descend automatically and intact to the first-born son. Crawford Rae does not have the casting vote at GC: he has a say in what happens but can be overruled by more significant shareholders. He is a placeman at Cappielow to look after the interests of GC first and foremost: wh

  40. So, fast forward six months. Ewan Boyle has been relieved of his duties, we now have a full time head of media who is dealing with the cmmentary and a voluntary role opened up for someone to do the Twitter updates. In fact, no- it didn't actually open up, not publically at least. Could that be because they had a candidate waiting in the wings to do the job as predicted by some on here? I hate to say I told you so, but...

  41. MCT are in a difficult situation. If their relationship with the club sours then presumably all manner of wrenches could be thrown into the takeover machine. From the outside looking in, it also seems that they have a genuinely good relationship with the club and there is mutual appreciation between them. They aren't a body who immediately rush to issue statements whenever something minor comes up. They've been supportive - perhaps to a fault - of the current setup at Cappielow. Definitely not a bunch of complainers or statement factories. So for them to issue such a statement, one so fac

  42. Fun career facts: the entire last decade of Scott McLaughlin's 'career' was spent yo-yoing between the third and fourth tiers of the seaside leagues, with the singular exception of 2011/12 in which he got relegated from the second tier with a hopeless Queen of the South outfit, who punted him in the summer and promptly went on to romp the Second Division. Since being rightly emptied from The Famous in 2008, McLaughlin got relegated in every season that he subsequently played in the second tier (Airdrie x2, Queen of the South), also got relegated from the third tier with Albion Rovers in 2018 a

  45. It's quite obvious the 500k is being used to limit any Golden Casket expenditure on GMFC until the summer, when they can swan off not needing to care what division we end up in. Nothing illegal about that, but you'd have to be blinkered at this stage not to see that the grant is being used primarily as self-preservation for the Raes/GC, rather than for the overall benefit of Morton.

Not as credit for the Queen’s Park game, no begging bowl out saying we’re strangling the club of their only source of income if we want our money back, no sympathy votes, nothing. Over the summer they’ve asked to keep our season ticket money from last season, and as far as I know most folk have been okay with that. They’ve ran staffing down to a minimum through the pandemic instead of speculating to accumulate, they’ve told of their plans to retain the club’s only major asset when it’s sold onto MCT, they’ve asked us
