  1. Sorry, but that's just childish nonsense. Given his injury record and career regression since leaving us, people are totally justified in having their doubts about him resigning. But I'm 100% certain everyone on here who like me have expressed these doubts want him to succeed, and if he does, we'll be delighted.

  2. Yeah I'd steer clear of the DM accounts of all your family members if I were you, after hosting this toe-curlingly Partridge-esque presentation about how their stupid old fud of a dad 'won' the internet.

  3. This is absolute rubbish and I know for a fact from talking to one of them that he didn't want to leave at all.

  4. Any chance you can drive yourself off this board??

  5. Where exactly on here is the 'abuse' you keep referring to? I only see perfectly justified doubts and concerns.

  6. I haven’t watched the interview yet but after the abuse he got from Morton fans about his court case when he played against us, I’m pretty sure I’d be back at the club for selfish reasons only as well. I’m optimistic about him signing if he can stay fit.

  9. At 24 he's hardly in the 'young boy' category any more. He's a fully grown adult but from the interview I'm still not fully convinced he acts like one, which may also explain your confusion. Like everyone else I of course hope Dougie's faith him him proves to be well founded, but I am concerned he's using up a wage that could have been far better invested on someone with a more stable and proven track record.

  10. Perhaps it’s just because I don’t like the boy, but I don’t think he came across well at all in the interview. From the off he skirted round the question about what the club means to him. Of course I don’t expect it to mean the same to him as it does to you and I so should probably be thankful he didn’t feed us a lot of shite. He speaks about his personal ambitions and says he wants to show the fans “he is what he was years ago”. This isn’t the second coming of Marko Rajamaki or Peter MacDonald- he was alright and had a wee bit of a purple patch, a bit like Archie Campbell. Describing the club as “somewhere” isn’t exactly the most complimentary of references either, and I’ve got to say it was a very unusual interview for a player jointing a new club. We all know that if he was chocolate he’d eat himself, and it comes across in the interview but he doesn’t strike me as particularly well media-trained, which surprises me as Jonathan was all over that with young players when he was here previously. There are few of the usual platitudes you hear from a new signing. It appears that his targets are personal and the success of the team a possible side effect of him reaching those targets before he fucks off to pastures new next season. Good luck to him I suppose, but I don’t see us demanding a statue of him on Sinclair Street anytime in the future. One or t’other will be dropped like a sack of spuds sooner rather than later.

  11. I don't give a flying fk how his interview comes across, if the lad gives his all, stays injury free, and can channel his ego to perform and do well for us then how he talks in front of a camera will mean fk all to all of us. I trust Dougie as the type o man who can channel the young 24 year old boys attitude in the right direction I trust him before I trust the opinions of some folk spouting piss on here . He has not been on the park two mins and folk have written him off. While he is with us and playing for the jersey I'll reserve judgement and wish him well. However I get a feeling some online football managers would rather he fails miserably. While he is yet to kick a ball I'll give him my support ,yes things may go tits up and then I'll judge . And I feel a lot want it to fail so they get a sense of look told you so,but come on let's back him . I personally think it's worth a punt when he did have his purple patch he was a joy to watch ,he has that in him he's still young , if he finds the form and stays fit and confident it could work out for us. A lot o too players have big egos and come across as wnkers on interviews personality not being as to your expectations don't mean they don't give a fk about the team, some folk may think your a cnt with how you come across but I'm sure you have good intentions.

  12. It says more about the perpetrators of the regular criticism of Morton players than it does about the targets of their unjustified abuse. They’ve driven good players out of the club then complained when the same players came back and gave them a GIRUY when they scored at Cappielow. I’ve heard them abusing boys on their debuts and now a returning player before he’s even started a game! They even abuse their own players for suffering injuries. You couldn’t make it up!

  13. Agree some would shout 'he's pish' and 'get him aff' as soon as he gives a shit pass ten mins in . A lot o folk think they know better than qualified professional managers and seem to just get a rise shouting crap at players just for attention, some o these folk have never kicked a ball or played in a team game in their Life. Not all fans, the majority will back him and generally give someone a bit o time and a chance but some will be on the guys back right from his first mistake. No one likes arrogance and players with big Egos however no one gives a fuck as long as it don't impact the team and he does the talking on the park.

  14. I'm with DreamOakTree, as a virtual bystander in most posts, IMO there is a significant amount of abuse directed to people connected with the club, which I feel is over the top and unwarranted...at times. To say some folk on this board have a short fuse, would be an understatement. As soon as things start to look as if they are heading the wrong way, the boo boys take to the keyboard and vent.....and vent. I myself have been subject to the trolls on the board.....and I have no idea why. Me and the family have a great time laughing about though when it does happen. I can laugh at it, as I have no agenda and have nothing to lose or gain. That said, I would think it would be the complete opposite for players and staff and I reckon the negative comments on this board and elsewhere must have a detrimental effect, irrespective of who the critism is aimed at. Any new player coming to the club, we should be wishing them well, while keeping or fingers crossed that it will all work out over the season. To be on anyone, before a ball has been kicked and being the first to say "ah telt yi, didn't ah" is merely just a self fulfilling prophecy, not helpful to anyone and just a bag o shi*e IMO.

  15. Directly or indirectly off the top of my head: Alex Williams, Tam O’Ware, Stuart Greacen, Brian Graham, Iain Russell, Chris Templeman, Bobby Linn, Scott Tiffoney, Bobby Barr and Derek Gaston. A few more will come to me if I start trying to think hard about it!

  16. A few more just sprung to mind: Reghan Tumilty, James McPake, Jamie Stevenson, Jim McAllister, Sean McGinty, Brian McLean and Gary Oliver. Other club’s fans get impatient with a regular underperforming team or players. We’re the only “fans” in Scotland who see fit to barge right in when a youngster’s making his debut, or a new player’s yet to even pull on a pair of boots. Don’t kid yourselves, we’re the worst for that behaviour in the country.
