Orange by Jon Spencer Blues Explosion.

I've liked their stuff for a while now, rating them above the likes of The White Stripes. They draw on richer, more rootsy influences, like Tom Waits, and are all the better for it.

I really don't like The White Stripes. One of the worst nights of my life was in The Cabinet War Rooms in 2005 when I had to attend the media launch of the 'Elephant' album. The War Rooms were brilliant but they played the album TWICE!!!

John Grant 'Queen of Denmark'. The most beautiful lyrics married to the most beautiful music. He is a gay man though so certain posters would find him "offensive".

Can there be beauty in such bitterness and anger? I'm not so sure. I'll prefer Mike Scott's 'A Man Is In Love'. No doubt about beauty there, in the lyrics and the music. Suits my Sunday afternoon better.

Edit to add: The day society gets over and done with homophobia will be the day when it's no longer important or relevant to mention a person's sexual orientation. Because it won't matter any more.

There definitely is beauty in those lyrics. Heartbreak can be a beautiful thing.

Morgan Freeman has a brilliant quote on homophobia, 'it's not a phobia, you're not scared, you're just an asshole'.

The New Eminem album.

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their consciences."

Bruce's new album, the fire of justice still burns in the man. Probably one of the best songs he's written.

I hate to admit is, but the smiths. The songs are strong though I still think that Morrissey is an egotistical dick.
