Really good to see the commitment to a sensible approach for the Estrella funding. Our ageing stadium will send us to the seaside leagues eventually if it isn't addressed.

The hope is that investing into the infrastructure now will pay dividends in the years to come. We need Cappielow set to be an income generating asset rather than costing us heavily in maintenance.

Easier said than done, but I support the efforts towards sustainability and have my fingers crossed we can assemble a squad that can compete while still cutting our cloth accordingly.

There is a contradiction running through the statement between drawing a line under last season, a fresh start, setting standards etc. and then handing out new offers to far too many players who were collectively responsible for that end.

I'm a broken record on this, but actions should speak louder than words - you just can't declare your standards without showing significant consequences for not meeting them. I'd have exchanged a slightly weaker squad or at least greater turnover in the squad this summer, to clear decks and set that standard.

I read the transcript instead of watching.

First I want to commend Graham and the rest for putting this together. It isn't easy to put your head above the parapet when things are going wrong but fair play, everyone's done so.

Graham is exactly correct: we can't have another AMBISHUN season of signing a whole squad of pros because we don't have the money for it and there's nobody to back it up if we write checks we can't cash.

Getting the stadium up to scratch absolutely has to happen and it's better we do that than spend money on "Curtis Main" and the like. That remains true even if we go down.

MCT needs help. Once they get Estrella over the line they'll need more, not less. I hope more people can volunteer.

Ian Murray remains a total fraud. I get that it's tough, he's working under real constraints, but he's the guy who signed guys like Grant Savoury, who are perma-injured, and stacks players in a couple of positions like central midfield instead of looking for starters elsewhere. The club's behind him, though, so we'll have to make the best of it.

Estrella is our last hope - an investor that needs good performance rather than one that's a vanity project like the last few. 

The problem is the club board have been a disaster and wasted investment while being ego driven.

The difficulty for MCT is being able to get in a position of influence whennthey don't have a day to day involvement. 

We need a board that understand MCT are the owners and the members are who they are accountable to and an MCT board who hold the MCT board accountable for shortfallings. I'm unsure if either of these are possible with volunteers.

In amongst all the doom and gloom there was sadly no good news. Even if the Estrella deal completes there is no budget for new players. Our only hope is another club takes pity on us and offers up some free loans. It makes it all the more frustrating we do not have a cooperation agreement with anyone. You can only go to the well so often as this season is proving.

We should be massively pushing the club out to sponsors.

No ambition, No progress = relegation and less income brought in  as well as apathy and malaise.

Maybe we should also ask for Volunteer players?

Behind on season tickets is purely down to the shambolic final quarter of last season, we had zero momentum and no positivity going into the close season.

We have to be realistic - Inverclyde is an area with a declining population and economic base. There are not many DDFRs out there. Sadly folk still prefer to head up to Glasgow. All of us just have to keep on doing what we can if we want our club to survive.

Pretty grim viewing but at least they didn't hide..

 

 

 

Not sure what the solution is but I know sticking the boot in like people are doing on socials is far from helpful.

 

Regardless of your opinions on fan ownership it's not going to go away overnight. If club is put up for sale first thing Monday morning not going to improve the situation in a few days.

 

 

 

This should be a wake up to All supporters.

To be fair, they've brought in new sponsors over the summer and the video alluded to another in the works. More money is always better of course but it's one area where at least there's some visible progress.

I know someone who owns a business who was approached about sponsorship and they weren't interested. It was Morton reaching out to them showed the structure for shirt sponsorship etc and they decided not to sponsor.

 

It's all very well saying need sponsorship but if local businesses don't want involved what can you do?

The Dalrada sponsorship unfortunately seems to have done more harm than good overall. The rumours of very late sponsorship payments last season sound like they must've been true.

There's a chance another major donor might fall out of the sky, but it looks like we'll need to take a horrible season on the chin and plan for a leaner, more organised setup in League 1.
