Transfer Deadline Day is here. Scottish window closes 11pm tonight. Ian Murray saying he's hopeful of getting a couple in.

Anyone heard anything of who? I know Tiffoney has been mentioned

Murray explicitly said there'd been no contact about Tiffoney, someone made that up.

Reminder that we can also still make domestic loans until the end of February.

Tiffoney rumour got shot down by Murray himself.

Definitely need a CB and a Striker. A GK wouldn't be bad either, to give Storer some competition.

I looked at some of the squad lists and it's hard to find much we'd be able to take.

I've heard nothing, but a wishlist for the rest of the window would look something like

Stuparevic/Todorov

Kabongolo or any other, massive CB

and if we can shift a couple of centre mids a goalkeeper would be nice, Matty Connelly seems to have done a decent job at Airdrie and has been recalled so wouldn't mind him.

Having said this we'll make some gamble on a Leeds/Swindon/Carlisle youth player and they'll warm our bench for 4 months

Murray said there had been no approach made for Tiffoney and that wages would probably be an issue so can't see that happening.

Stanger was also mentioned in a rumour but again no idea if its genuine or not.

Key areas would be a striker and CB the loan window doesn't close until February I believe but we have big games coming up so ideally want to get a few in today.

End of Feb.

We also don't have a game for a fortnight so there is absolutely no pressure to just grab any old signing today.

I still think we’ll do business today. Murray did say he hopes for a minimum of 2 by the end of today, but it’s probably more to suit the players. This is the last day a player can be released from their contract and still be allowed to play for another team this season, now they don’t need to sign for someone else today, but anyone in that boat will be wanting a new club paying their wages as soon as possible, as was the case when Iain Wilson first signed here.

I wonder how much value there is in the February window this season since most players have already joined their loan clubs through cooperation agreements. Definitely a far smaller market than usual but you’d imagine there would still be some top flight outcasts remaining .

There's always a fair few who agree their release first which gives them more time to get their next move sorted.

Not sure the coop agreements will have a huge impact. Most of the active ones for Championship clubs aren't bearing much fruit.

Has Kabongolo played for Livingston this season?

He played a couple of weeks ago against Killie and was lucky not to be sent off.

Think he played a few times for Arbroath and then was recalled by Livi.

Most of the players we sign come from clubs like Dunfermline, Hamilton or ICT (i.e. we're pretty much the full time club of last resort). Or we take a risk on someone from down south who's struggling to get anything decent down there.

The majority of the names I've seen this month seem wildly optimistic to me. We managed to pluck Owens out of a very peculiar situation, and initial signs there look alright. We might have to be giving some benefit of the doubt or do some mad googling on whoever we bring in, because it's far more likely to be someone like Owens than some it the other names we've seen on here.

Does the playing for two teams rule still apply?

Yeah, its been brought up recently given Steven Welsh's situation, having been recalled by Celtic and played a coupe of games for them, after being on loan at Motherwell for the first half of the season.

Yeah, incredibly Partick have been unable to loan Eseosa Sule who they'd agreed a deal for with West Brom because FIFA have declared that playing for their under 21s in 'Premier League 2' counts as competitive football, along with the 3 games he played for Motherwell in the League Cup.

It fucks Partick over so I'm cool with this one.

Peter Weatherson is the greatest player since Ritchie, and should be assigned 'chairman for life'
