"Apparent glee" just shows you embarrassing yourself now. Unlike yourself, I spent a large amount of money to watch that drivel today, like the other (diminishing IMO) three hundred odd away fans, none of whom were as enthralled by our performance as your distant hot takes would allow for. If I was so gleeful at expecting defeat, I'd have... err... went to the pub today instead and saved my money. Rancid take. Here's a sample slze for you: 1 league win in 11 games. It's garbage, and no amount of dancing around the facts and whataboutery regarding refereeing decisions changes that reality. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before.. So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

He was directly responsible for at least 5 good Ayr attacking chances - twice in the first half through slack passes, and a combination of a slack pass, silly foul, and getting caught on the ball in the second (he also looked like a headless chicken at the first goal, but I could be unfair on him since depth perception is an issue from that far away). Comrie has been underwhelming since he came in, but he had a disaster today. Ballantyne should be back in the team next week. I don't think the front two worked today. I don't think they've worked as a front two at all so far. I don't think losing 2-1 at Ayr is a disaster, but we were dreadful today and our bloated squad is drifting towards a relegation battle. We almost got away with a draw, but we were incredibly lucky to be anywhere near that position. I take nothing back. Just watched the highlights. Every bit as bad as I thought. What on earth is he doing there?
The Bewilderedbeast Posted October 18, 2025 Posted October 18, 2025 I've said it for a long time that players are. Going down far too easily then grabbing the ball to break up play with an undeserved free kick. This is something else referee’s should be stamping down on,just unfortunate that the one that does goes against US!
InverAlly Posted October 18, 2025 Posted October 18, 2025 What is ‘Technical Head Coach’ Billy Davies bringing to the table? What is the non-Director ‘Chairman’ bringing to the table? Is Dougie Imrie the great manager everyone makes him out to be? Has Dougie Imrie ‘lost the dressing room’? How long will Dalrada pump money into an underachieving club structure, as VikingTon points out, from top to bottom? “A fool and their money are soon parted”. Does anyone on the MCT/Club Boards have the experience/business acumen to drive the club forward in a positive manner? Can the club survive the financial hit when apathy sets in, if it hasn’t already? Answers on a postcard. 2 1

One issue I'd raise however is the idea that Dalrada are pumping money into an underperforming club. At least since the Raes left, there has been no such underperformance: we scrapped our way from the play-off against Montrose and Airdrie to solid consolidation under Imrie, always with a flimsy squad at times and in certain areas. I don't think Championship football would have been sustainable in the long term without Dalrada, but there was no underperformance. The underperformance is now happening under Dalrada, and in my view is more risible given the refusal to accept any other purpose for capital investment than just paying yet another mediocre mercenary to pad out a midtable squad. The grand plan of finishing 4th and winning promotion off 3 play-off games was never credible. You are entirely right to flag the risk of the club being left with expensive commitments if the funding gets cut off for whatever reason. How can an auditor seriously sign off GMFC's next or subsequent set of accounts as a going concern, based on a pinky promise relationship? We need to be extremely careful about entangling the club in any expenses that its (almost non-existent) balance sheet can't cover from summer to summer. And if that means we lose the Adeloyes and Nathan Shaws of the world, then so be it. 3 The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. You’re right, the fact I happen to be on holiday is a total embarrassment. How dare I. 1 win in 11, or 2 losses in 11? You could use either stat to paint a very different picture. It takes something special to revel in the fact that the team lost a match and, in your mind, confirmed that they’re just as terrible as you keep telling everyone week after week. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, I’m sure you will. 1

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, I’m sure you will. 1 win in 11 will continue to be the far more pertinent stat, because hardly losing is actually not particularly helpful if you never win. We'd be in a much better place if we'd won 5 and lost 6, and in that scenario would be looking up the table as credible playoff contenders rather than the reality of where we are, which is a fight to avoid 9th where any slip up against Airdrie or Queen's Park would be disastrous. 2 Brian Wake my Lord, Brian Wake Brian Wake my Lord, Brian Wake Brian Wake my Lord, Brian Wake Oh Lord, Brian Wake
Mr.Blue Posted October 19, 2025 Author Posted October 19, 2025 Watched the highlights back and the referee is an absolute jobs worth prick and was all afternoon. All about him and fuck the game, the teams and the fans. However I still stand by what I said about Delaney. He's got to play to the whistle and he's there are games he'd have gotten away with that but not with that referee. For Ayrs winning goal who the fuck was supposed to be picking up Dempsey? He has the freedom of Somerset to roll that one in. Not good enough and Dougie needs to stop the tinkering, identify his strongest 11, play them and get back to basics. Drop this playing out from the back pish. There's a storm on the horizon And for that I can't see the sun For I'll keep a waiting on the pavement For the ice cream van to come
IanClinging Posted October 19, 2025 Posted October 19, 2025 That was really poor yesterday with multiple problems all over the pitch. The most obvious changes for me is Lyall has to start before MacPherson and Bannatyne has to start before Comrie. Lyall and Bannatyne are simply better players than MacPherson and Comrie.
