Mr.Blue Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Tough game tomorrow although we have nothing to fear against the little people. Storer Comrie Corr Longridge Delaney Wilson Blues Lyall Garrity Adeloye Shaw Going to be optimistic and go for a 3-2 win for the ton. There's a storm on the horizon And for that I can't see the sun For I'll keep a waiting on the pavement For the ice cream van to come
RossMcC1874 Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Think it will be a tight game can't see a high scoring game but happy to be proved wrong. No reason really to change from last week's lineup.

No reason really to change from last week's lineup. Moore should be in for Corr when fit and the team shape needs to be changed to stop us being unable to press without the ball. Our luck on both counts is going to run out soon. The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before.. So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are
TopCat Posted October 18 Posted October 18 Shaw either needs to be dropped or we need to sacrifice the other winger for a narrower midfield. Having Shaw and one of Adeloye/Brophy plodding around makes our press laughably easy to play through. We made Partick look like a top 6 Premiership side in the second half last week.

Stevie Aitken's Love Child Posted October 18 Posted October 18 Lyall and Garrity dropping to the bench is a surprise. Think this large squad is a tricky one for Dougie to navigate, keeping everyone happy and giving them game time isn't going to be easy, but he needs to be careful that he's not changing things up too often to the detriment of the team.
HamCam Posted October 18 Posted October 18 Harsh on Garrity but the changes look a response to how Ayr line up.
SpoonTon Posted October 18 Posted October 18 MacPherson probably in because Imrie didn't think we tried to pass the ball out enough last week. He's already given the ball away twice in dangerous positions trying to do that, so I'm not sure it's working yet.

About five different opportunities to deal with that before it eventually resulted in the goal. It had felt like a goal was coming for the first half hour, we got away with it and went through a spell without any pressure, then had a sustained 30 seconds of every defender being a clowncar at every opportunity to deal with. Once again, there is no indication of how this team is supposed to score a goal. It's get to the final third then hope for the best rather than an actual attacking gameplan. Comrie being slow and not really supporting attacks doesn't help either. Delenay isn't a great player but at least he gives a bit more going forward. If only we had a quality right back in the squad.... 1

Imrie's given Comrie a few weeks now and I don't think he's shown he's better than Ballantyne in any aspect of his game.
Pedrodelawasp Posted October 18 Posted October 18 (edited) Did the quadruple substitution make much of a difference? P.S. just as I hit ‘post’ I notice one of those subs has hit the equaliser. Good stuff. Edited October 18 by Pedrodelawasp

TRVMP Posted October 18 Posted October 18 I don't think I'm overreacting - Delaney needs to be fined or suspended for that.

TRVMP Posted October 18 Posted October 18 Just now, Deego said: Not following the game - assume you mean his hair? That too but he thought he was fouled, picked up the ball, and of course conceded a penalty because the whistle hadn't gone because he wasn't fouled. Storer saved it because obviously that's what he does but we conceded right away after that. Mistakes in play are just part of the game but failing to play to the whistle in such dramatic fashion is really just a basic failure to do your job and you don't deserve to get paid for it.
