Popular Post HamCam Posted September 6 Popular Post Posted September 6 The standard of officiating in the Championship is unacceptable but we should be more focused on our own failings as a team. I have yet to work out what our style of play is this season but whatever it is, it is not working. We are being bullied around the park and creating very little. Every game we are carrying players who are contributing nothing. 5

The left-side of our defence will only be fixed by signing someone and Tomi is so far off what we need at the moment. Not to mention our issues with shape, wingers have to be so good at this level to make a difference and ours just aren't. However, I don't think that has to be at the expense of drawing eyeballs to how poor the refereeing is in the Championship. Its an issue that effects all the clubs, but so far we have had 2 match-changing decisions go against us due to guesswork by officials. I'm not convinced that Raith's red card was the correct (or at least, the expected) decision for that challenge and situation, and we were getting the square root of hee-haw from the game if that previous refereeing decision didn't happen. The supposedly "match changing" refereeing decision at Partick happened when we were being completely overrun after they put the sub on at half time who won the penalty - and the draw was an objectively reasonable reflection of the game itself. A goal today would only have been another ill-deserved bailout after getting one a fortnight ago. The thing changing our matches right now are overplayed wasters we field rather than officials who you are never going to change anyway. Edited September 6 by vikingTON The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before.. So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are
gmfc_craig Posted September 6 Posted September 6 Managers and players get fined for calling out and commenting on referees. Why can't referees be fined after a match when upon review it is very clear and obvious mistakes have been made during a match? I know ultimately it won't change the full time result on given day but maybe, just maybe, if refs are fined then they may be inclined to make sure they have made a right call. Not saw our penalty claim on Tomi back yet so not going to comment on that but even a couple of the yellows were mental today and it was never a red card for Raith either.

In answer to your question in paragraph 1. Turkeys dont vote for Christmas.
RossMcC1874 Posted September 6 Posted September 6 We were utter mince and deserved nothing from the game only started playing after they had 10 men the last 15 minutes. Why do we constantly play out from the back when we aren't good enough to do it, attack and midfield are completely ineffective and we created nothing going forward. Long season ahead it's okay saying let's increase revenue get more fans and let's turn draws into wins but in reality we are rank and anyone watching that today wouldnt come back. 1

Also from behind the goal Gillespie appeared to call the referee a bastard, possibly a cheating one for his booking. I think you’re being generous there. Mullen said he didn’t resign as the manager couldn’t offer him a deal until the budget was agreed. So clearly the holdovers were offered after he understood his budget. And there’s of course last summer where too many were kept on. I realise I’m being a bit harsh but it’s just a reflection of realising we’ll not be challenging again this year.
