gmfc_craig Posted August 8 Posted August 8 Looking for a new place to park. Always parked on Murano St but last time I was at Firhill it was an absolute nightmare getting back out and down the road so looking somewhere south of Firhill Rd. Garscube Rd?
Mr.Blue Posted August 8 Posted August 8 Good to see Dougie back doing his pre match interview. No mention of a squad update so will have to wait until 2 pm today to see who is fit and available. There's a storm on the horizon And for that I can't see the sun For I'll keep a waiting on the pavement For the ice cream van to come

This was reply from a Partick fan on P&B in answer to where to park Panmure Street or any of the streets off it or Murano Street although it's getting worse trying to find a spot with the amount of restricted parking around Firhill these days. If I'm taking the car now I've taken to parking well along Murano Street towards Bilsland Drive, bit further to walk but avoids the traffic and cars trying to come both ways down the middle of the road which happens on Murano Street closer to the ground.
RossMcC1874 Posted August 8 Posted August 8 Never feel confident up there getting a result especially on the back of them getting a hiding but hopefully if we have a few players back we can get a good result. Would take a point right now though.
thai_ton Posted August 9 Posted August 9 In the past i park just off napiershall street, easy access to get back to great western road and on motorway. Although im sure there are restrictions as in permits, i have been lucky enough to get away with it. 15 quid to watch game on Partick TV. You have to take monthly subscription which is then set to auto renew, don't forget to cancel after the game. Always look forward to thistle games. 1

From last week, O'Halloran didn't do much to impress and I'm also not sure that going to a 442 when Brophy came on worked either. We definitely lacked a physical presence in midfield and upfront. Adeloye just isn't that striker who will compete with big centre halves. Id like to see McKay play a part today as he'll bring pace and strength to the attack. Hopefully a few of our injured players are back. Tough to predict a team with no update so far. Would love to share your optimism on McKay but he’s looked nowhere near it so far. More than happy to be proved wrong so fingers crossed. 1
Chicken_Soup Posted August 9 Posted August 9 I think McKay has looked miles off it and would be very surprised to see him start. If any two of Garrity, Shaw and Crawford are fit to start then I wouldn’t mind us changing back to the 4231 from the start. If not, and we’re short on decent wingers, stick with the 4132 we started last week with and put Brophy in for MOH. My concern with that is I don’t feel that Moffat gives us quite as much in the 10 as Crawford, and is much better coming in off the left. Having said that, we’ll probably change between the two systems during the game anyway. Expecting Blues to start which will be a massive help to our shape. Based on last week I’d keep Taylor in rather than Robertson and play Blues more advanced.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before.. So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

They don't require that we field a symmetrical formation to be equally ineffective on either side and weak through the middle too. The best solution - as nearly always in the past 15 years at least - is to play someone narrow on the right of midfield to support the middle of the park. Blues is best suited to play that role in support of Wilson and any combination of Gillespie/Robertson/Taylor or Crawford. You can then either keep one spot reserved for our sand dancer crew on the opposite flank, or play a diamond/4-1-3-2 depending on the opponent and situation. shagster Posted August 9 Posted August 9 One upside for today's game is that Bannigan isn't there to assault any number of opposition players and that there might be a chance for midfielders to play football instead of looking out for that protected thug
RossMcC1874 Posted August 9 Posted August 9 Quite surprised Moffat not starting. Also Shaw not even on the bench let's hope it's another bad injury guy is made of chocolate. Good options off the bench though and two strikers up top nice to see us going for it.
SpoonTon Posted August 9 Posted August 9 That's pretty much the team I expected today, all being fit. Looking like a stronger lineup than last week. Never been totally convinced by the 4-1-3-2 (including last week), but Imrie had returned to it a few times and with Brophy joining I'm not surprised (and it looks like a team more suited to it this week).
GiGi Posted August 9 Posted August 9 The team I'd pick other than Gillespie for Taylor if he was fit. Imrie there is a big deal imo. Peter Weatherson is the greatest player since Ritchie, and should be assigned 'chairman for life'
Drew Busby's Moustache Posted August 9 Posted August 9 Anyone else experiencing a delay in threads 'loading' on this site? Never been the same since the hacking incident a few weeks ago.
