I'm ok with us having a few guys in the squad who are taking a step up from league 1.  If they have been consistently among the best players at that level then clubs like us should absolutely be seeking out this sort of player.

Whether or not they are ex-Morton youth players, local lads, or theres any “evidence” that they are ready for championship football should not factor in to the discussion IMO.

A decent season in a lower league is absolutely not evidence that he's improved since leaving us

It's not evidence that he's good enough for the Championship. It clearly is evidence that he's improved as a player over the last 4 years, because he was better this season than in his previous three in League One.

There's one returning ex-player rumour we can disregard.

They'll both absolutely stroll that division. Although it'd be funnier if this was the start of a five-year exile like Falkirk, I don't think it will be.

Another example of an ex player that some were clamouring for Murray to resign only for said player to drop down to the league below. If Strapp like some others are so good why is it their careers have stalled or gone backwards?

That means nothing in itself. There were a few players who rejected us and dropped a league to go to Falkirk. Ross County will be paying more money than we will.

Ridiculous take.

Ross county will be throwing money at not just getting out of league one but getting them out championship too.

If this was a drop to an Airdrie, Hamilton or even queen of the south would feel the same way but Ross county are an abnormal team in these leagues and will want to right the wrongs for this season where they recruited really poorly.

Other than on here and the fact  he was an ex player out of contract I'm not sure we were ever seriously interested.

I can't agree or disagree, and it's probably me being dumb but I cannot work out what this sentence actually means.

Filip Stuparevic signed for IBV in the Icelandic top flight about a month ago. He's yet to score a goal in two starts and three sub appearances and his team is bottom of the league with one point after seven games, 6 goals scored, 20 against.

He's probably on decent money there but still, bit of a shanner to drop to what's probably League One standard at best and to play for a team likely to get relegated.

I wonder if IBV actually train on Vestmannyaejar (the islands off the south coast that they represent and where they play their home games) or if they're based in Reykjavik. Reykjavik is a great city, pound for pound one of the best in the world for culture, but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else in Iceland as an expat.

A couple of guys there acting like Murray tried to sign him he turned us down citing "lack of ambition" in writing.

Maybe he said "fuck MCT, I'll be back when a rich guy comes in to buy us the league."

Peter Weatherson is the greatest player since Ritchie, and should be assigned 'chairman for life'

I fail to see how signing Lewis Strapp for the third time would be in any way a show of 'ambition'. Baffling logic.

I wish Strapp well at his new club, and am relieved that we can finally move on from this constant and bizarre fixation. As for skooshing the league below - that was Ross County's aim when building a squad 12 months ago and it didn't exactly work out for them.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

Off to the States now.

Fresh stain on the floor when I moved in. He may have checked out short of a useful amount of blood.
