Seems bonkers to me to turn down full-time offers in favour of a team that’s banned from signing players, but fair enough.

Is he worth a punt for us? Hart will almost certainly be away in January, and he could come in at CH allowing Longridge to move out one to the left.

Loved him in his spell here but he looked done last season.

Having hung around that long, I assumed he might be getting paid (or not paid - it's Hamilton). A 'signed but can't register' scenario not a million miles from us and Tidser.

Surely he hasn't just been sticking around with nothing but hope?

I think we can safely file Hamilton's current financial arrangments under 'shenanigans'.

Could do a lot worse than Lamie solid cente back plenty of experience at the level and would give us some much needed height and meat at the back also can play left back when needed.

I don't think we need another centre back at the moment and lamie looked miles off it last season. As for bringing him in and playing Longridge at left back that's a no for me. Longridge has been very good at centre back this season.

Lamie is better than what we have in starting XI and we're also only an injury away from Corr starting games; it's a no brainer. Bring him home.

I don't know if Lamie's fitness levels are there or not, but Corr certainly worries me. His performance against St Johnstone was so far away from the level required. Someone said to me that he's a decent defender when he doesn't have to defend, and I can't disagree with that. Goodness knows what level Hart is at right now (although it's maybe a lot to expect of a defender so young anyway). Corr's only 20 for that matter as well.

In any case, we should have some budget in mind for a defender of Moore or Longridge get injured.

Agree with all this but Delaney’s an absolute eyesore at left back and I’m looking at all angles for a solution.

Bringing Lamie in as backup is a no brainer for me. I’d imagine Hart will be away in January and we should be looking at a centre half to replace Corr in the pecking order anyway. The bigger premiership clubs have partnership agreements with other teams in the league so we’ve now got second dibs on any loans from above. The January market is going to be even tighter than usual, can’t see us finding any more attractive backup options than him.

Lamie was a great lad for us but in recent years he has been injury prone and miles off the pace. As much as I liked he went should be moving on.

Lamie improved greatly in his time with us to the point I imagine most of us were pretty gutted he left. He wasn’t the quickest at any point, but he had the smarts to read the game really well so that he didn’t need to rely on recovery pace.

Now that he’s 32 and feeling the accumulated affects of a few injuries he’s not the same player that left us. Struggling to maintain fitness, and unfortunately likely to slide further in to that stage of his career where his body just won’t keep up with his brain.

I don't know where the idea that Lamie is especially injury prone has come from? He had one bad achilles injury at Ross County that basically ended his career there before it started because he couldn't get back into the team after it, but that's the only long term absence he's had. Across Livingston, Motherwell & Dundee there was the occasional knock but he's hardly got Iain Wilson's record.

As for being finished, nothing to suggest that either. He's slow, but he always was. He was good for Hamilton last season despite having to suffer playing with McGinty.

Frank McKeown takes the managers job at Dumbarton.

Not sure how much he played for us but I remember being delighted that he signed for us at the time but his time here was ruined by injury.

He played about 10 minutes.

Anyway, good to see his time at Morton left a lasting impression as he keeps the Morton conmection going by naming Jimmy Gourlay as his assistant.
