You can't play as an amateur if you're being paid by the club in any non-footballing capacity now, after Livingston hilariously relegated Dundee by appointing Hassan Kachloul as a Commercial Manager (commercial work done - nothing) and playing him as an amateur.

Clubs used to get around this by giving jobs outside football to ringers, e.g. if the club is chaired by a construction magnate they'd get a job reading the Daily Star on a building site. Bring that back, it was quaint.

Shocked to see a good honest professional like McGinty passing it directly to an opponent then backing off for 40 yards to allow a shot.

Good thing he doesn't have any track record of dishonesty or people might raise an eyebrow at just how obviously he's handed goals away there.
