Mr.Blue Posted July 26, 2025 Posted July 26, 2025 We still have a chance of progressing to the next round but need to win by a few goals and hope other results go out way. Dougie shared that Ballantyne and Garrity will be back which is great news however Blues and Shaw are missing as a precaution. Be interesting to see if we have any more trialists in the squad today and if the youth players are on the bench again (seemingly they are two boys recently brought in from Alloa). Storer Gillespie Moore Longridge Delaney Wilson Robertson Crawford McKay Adeloye Moffat Subs - Murdoch, Corr, Hart, Ballantyne, Taylor, Davies, Garrity. Go all out for a win. 4-1 Ton. There's a storm on the horizon And for that I can't see the sun For I'll keep a waiting on the pavement For the ice cream van to come

Assuming Ballantyne isn’t risked from the start, I’d also start Gillespie at rb. In that instance I wouldn’t mind seeing Crawford drop deeper today in a game we should dominate. An opportunity could then be given to Robertson in the more advanced midfield role to press the life out of them. Hopefully the players start aggressively, bearing in mind we probably need to dish out a rogering today. Is Taylor available?

RossMcC1874 Posted July 26, 2025 Posted July 26, 2025 Hopefully we are able to start fast and get a goal early and it's not a long frustrating afternoon. I would like to see Robertson play the full 90 he impressed when he came on against Motherwell. Garrity and Ballantyne back also really helps but possibly only an appearance from the bench if they are not match fit yet. Taylor maybe still waiting on clearance? If not would be good to get a first look at him for me. Going for 3-0
Cet Homme Charmant Posted July 26, 2025 Posted July 26, 2025 For those living abroad or are otherwise unable to make the game, it's available for PPV on TonTV

If im conpesmentus in a couple of hours I would like to see the game. Edited, I found the FAQs. Hope the streaming gods are in our favour.
Ferguson Posted July 26, 2025 Posted July 26, 2025 Would like to see Robertson start here, add a bit of aggression in the middle of the park. Gillespie into right back, where he actually played quite well against Stenny.
Hands of Cowan Posted July 26, 2025 Posted July 26, 2025 Would also like to see us use the right wing more than we did in the Stenny match. At times Gills was screaming and whistling for the ball to come to him. Our 1st 2 goals came from right side crosses so we can and should use it to our advantage.
vikingTON Posted July 26, 2025 Posted July 26, 2025 If Davies has been told to find another club, then he shouldn't be starting unless there's literally no one else available. Waste of time. The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before.. So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are
Hands of Cowan Posted July 26, 2025 Posted July 26, 2025 Tannoy woman's voice is already doing my head in.
dunning1874 Posted July 26, 2025 Posted July 26, 2025 Adeloye being put clean through after 2 minutes then taking such a bad first touch it was basically tackling himself isn't what you're after when you could realistically still go out on goal difference with a 6-0 win. Well worked goal and we've been very tidy, but we really need to pick up the pace if we're going to score enough. vikingTON Posted July 26, 2025 Posted July 26, 2025 Our back line should be at the halfway line to just constantly push for goals. It doesn't fucking matter whether we concede a goal or two at the moment. Playing this like a comfy 2-0 win is enough is another example of piss-poor in game management (Imrie at least is trying to speed things up at the touchline). dunning1874 Posted July 26, 2025 Posted July 26, 2025 This is getting infuriating to watch, we're going at a pace as if this is a league game where being 1-0 up is great and this steady pace where we gradually move it and still create more chances is managing it well. This is a situation where we need to rack up as many goals as possible and winning 1-0 is as useless for progression as losing, we should be going all out for goals and the players are acting as if they don't even realise it. Stevie Aitken's Love Child Posted July 26, 2025 Posted July 26, 2025 Tempo needs to lift a bit, quite flat. You can tell we're looking to play on a certain way but when we're not being pressed enough we're ponderous on the ball a bit. Loads of attacking options on the bench with Moffat, Garrity and McKay, plus O'Halloran, to run at tiring legs which should hopefully yield a few late goals.

Seems so monotone and she seemed astonished that we had 2 linesmen officiating today. I had a teacher with similar voice so it's triggering to me. Just my opinion though. Bit of humour with the Dundee halftime score line tbf.
GiGi Posted July 26, 2025 Posted July 26, 2025 Less fucking about posing for pictures after scoring against fucking Clyde please. You score, you grab the ball and put it back in the centre circle like a team who has limited time to chase a good few goals. Peter Weatherson is the greatest player since Ritchie, and should be assigned 'chairman for life'

dunning1874 Posted July 26, 2025 Posted July 26, 2025 I'd be going full Jim McLean and fining Davies and Adeloye for walking slowly off the park when subbed there. Hurry up! Brian Wake my Lord, Brian Wake Brian Wake my Lord, Brian Wake Brian Wake my Lord, Brian Wake Oh Lord, Brian Wake
