Nothing new on the tele article other than it being cited to “well placed sources” who I suspect are the same ones that this thread originated from.
now that it’s in the press rather than speculation on a forum, the club and MCT absolutely need to make a statement

Until some actual facts and a semblance of a plan emerges I'm not going to make any judgements here about whether any of this is ultimately good, bad or an existential disaster, but it does seem that across the support as a whole many people's reaction to the treatment of Millen was to tip fully into sack the board mode, then when rumours have then emerged a couple of days later that several members of that board have indeed been sacked, many of those same people have been equally outraged at the club being in turmoil. If you wanted the board sacked, then here we are.

Tell me there is a plan B, and we haven't just lost over £500k in sponsorship to satisfy somebody's ego.

Tell me we have someone in the wings to replace Dalrada our major sponsor.

Tell me we are not heading for the seaside leagues for the rest of eternity.

Tell me the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse haven't taken over the MCT board and are hell-bent on destruction of both MCT and GMFC.

Tell me the MCT board are going to eventually tell the members what the f0ck is going on.

Tell me when we are having an EGM to explain to the members why this action has been taken.

Tell me when the board of MCT are resigning if they don't have a plan B that doesn't jeopardise our club.

Probably because their well placed source IS this forum.

Open letter from some other ex-MCT directors to the current MCT board. It is time something official was put out.

Pretty concerning news, if there is no Dalrada money then it's well and truly worrying.

Let's hope there is an official statement from the club to clarify what is actually going on between this and the Fifa ban it's not the ideal way to end the season.

I don't know if that's a particularly helpful letter, tbh. There are good points in there, but it feels bloated with unnecessary emotional and sensationalist sentiment. An open letter like this is never going to feel neutral.

We need communication from MCT, just like we've needed better communication from the club. But, as MCT members and Morton supporters, we need far more information before we can form a property opinion on what has happened or what comes next.

Pretty obvious there's some kind of power struggle going on between two factions of the erstwhile MCT board. Not unusual in any organisation and not necessarily a bad thing, if the direction the 'winning' faction wants to take is the better of the two. It could also be destructive though, if the cause of the split is down to personal ego trips, rather than simple but genuine disagreements on policy. Hopefully it's former and not the latter.

But as many have already pointed out, it's impossible to come to any kind of conclusion while the reason(s) for the spilt are unknown.

It just shows the difficulty of fan ownership and trying to bring together so many people who have one common goal but different opinions on how to get there. We can but hope MCT does not go the same way as the Trust. Club before ego - get it sorted.

Board splits like this are certainly not unique to fan-ownership, it can happen in any business, so that's probably not the specific cause. Purging a board of dissenting members can in certain circumstances be a good thing in the long run, if they were a hindrance in improving the efficiency or profitability of the company. Obviously in the information vacuum, we're in no position to know if that's the case here.

But irrespective of the type of organsiation, if the cause of the board split is personal advancement or ego rather than a straightforward business disagreement on the governance and/or direction of the club, it will almost certainly not end well.

Apparently the board’s dropped to just four people, and the rest have bailed because they’re not on board with how Dale Pryde-MacDonald’s running things. Sounds like there’s been a real clash behind the scenes some of them felt sidelined or disagreed with the direction Dale’s taking the club, so they walked. Things aren’t looking good.

Or is it a case of your usual shan guesswork dressed up as fact?

Aye just constant dribbling of contentious gossip. Worth nothing until we have a proper statement of facts.

I see the Tele have published the story now, with a big cracked drone image of Cappielow to be as extra sensationalist as possible ?

It was always likely to play out this way from time to time, but let's not kid ourselves into thinking that so-called professional business partners don't throw toys out of the pram and brief their big mates with 'ITK information' too. Just look at thr situation unfolding at Hamilton and Queens' Park within the same division.

As punctual as a Swiss train, that.

See, you'd at least expect Lord Haughey would provide a proper steak night and top end of the wine list hauner to his pet national tabloid mouthpieces - just like David Murray's succulent lamb evenings before him.

I wonder what the Poundland Pulitzer gets in exchange for putting out this obvious shit stirring, non-journalism. Can't see it matching up tbh!

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are
