Falkirk vs The Ton

Recommended Posts

Harsh to drop Mullen after the season he's had while Boyes has made mistakes and Shaw doesn't work hard enough for games like this. Got to assume Blues has a knock too.

Not sure it would have mattered much - we've been poor all over.

Mullen has struggled with injuries all season. Maybe he needed a break. Otherwise I agree it's definitely harsh. Baird (getting turned on the half-way line), and Boyes (giving the ball away) both made mistakes on a similar level last week.

Maybe so but there's still money to be won /lost depending on final league position.

There's next to no chance that any player in the squad gives a single f**k about £40k for the club - the difference between 5th and 6th, our 2 most likely finishing positions.

The manager can only do so much prep during the week with this squad it’s then down to them cause he can’t do it for them at 3pm on a Saturday. Yes some of his selection choices are questionable along with some transfer business but this is the hand he has been dealt & the players need to start taking some responsibility.

Just back from that shitshow. Falkirk are a very good side and have had our number this season but fuck me Morton can we at least do the basics? Track men, defend as a unit, communicate, take responsibility.

How Shaw stayed on the pitch for so long is beyond me and Adeloye playing a full 90 is a travesty.

Not entirely sure id give pass marks to many players today except for Lyall, Ballantyne and Crawford who worked hard and tried to make things happen.

There's a storm on the horizon

And for that I can't see the sun

For I'll keep a waiting on the pavement

For the ice cream van to come

I didn't attend the game so am commenting purely on the result.

To lose one game in such a manner could be written off as an aberration - to do so twice in the exact same circumstances is unacceptable. How would this team have coped with any significant cup tie this season, at Pittodrie, Tynecastle or indeed against the Spoon Burners? A: They'd have diagraced the club in its 150th anniversary year just as badly as they've done it against Grangemouth across the board this season. By our own CEO's metrics, clearly they do not have the 'minerals' for the task.

So the usual bullshit Tele cycle of mawkish apology (Mon/Tue), resolution to do better (Wed/Thu) and confident declarations (Fri/Sat) simply won't cut it. There should be direct and immediate consequences.

1) Anyone involved in yesterday's game who is out of contract at the end of the season should have any existing offer taken off the table, and be told that they can expect to leave. They should be given the last 4 games to make a case to stay, if they are fortunate enough to get any further involvement at all. Otherwise, clear the fucking decks.

2) At least one player under contract should also be told to either find a new club in the summer or be prepared to guard the corner flag for the entirety of next season.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are
