Hamilton vs Morton 15th March

Recommended Posts

3-5-2 was not working on such a wide park and with little direct centre forward play from Hamilton to engage with. Switching to a back four has made us marginally less poor but we should still be at least 2 goals down here.

Put Keay on for Shaw and prepare Garrity to replace Moffat soon as well - the forward line has offered almost nothing either aa an attacking threat or simply defending from the front.  Don't like Blues on the left side of midfield either - we can just swap him and Lyall without changing anything else.

This is pie, hopefully a slow burn like the Ayr game.

It's unbelievable the luck we've had with strikers this season. One in prison, one with a torn ACL, one injured in his second appearance, one with family grief then injury problems of his own, and one's Welsh.

One being in prison is the watch we won to (almost certainly) consolidate our league status though. That border and customs official should be awarded our player of the year.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

First 15 minutes were even more shambolic than last week. The gaps in midfield were wild and we genuinely could have been 3-0 down that early.

Credit to Imrie for changing it that quickly when it was clearly a mess, but Crawford sitting with Blues on the left in a 4-2-3-1 is certainly a choice. We've still been dreadful since the change, but we've only coughed up one great chance since so it's improved us at least.

Robbery to be level at half-time, but hopefully clinging on sets up for as stark a turnaround as last week.

I remember reading when Chelsea were trying to get rid of Winston Bogarde (9 league appearances in four years, trained with the kids, got every single penny of his wages) they allegedly considered planting drugs in his locker. Take that with a few grains of fent but I can imagine a lot of clubs would at least consider something like that if they could get away with it.

That was another win full of character. Very poor first half, rode our luck, Davies missed a huge chance, but some energy from Garrity and Keay and suddenly we're a goal up.

Three home games in a row now including an absolutely massive one against Partick. Seven points from these and suddenly we're right back in playoff contention.

Brilliant. Had to ride our luck for the majority of that game but we’ve kept ourselves in it and managed to take our chances, delighted for young Keay there and Crawford has deserved that goal as well.

10 points clear of that 9th position with a game in hand, can almost forgive some for looking upwards in the table from this point onwards.

We definitely rode our luck in the first half, but the second half was a much better performance, especially once the subs came on.

Davies had a big chance that could've put us 1-0 up, but it wasn't to be. However, Keay's finish was top-class, and Crawford's free-kick was spot on. Onwards and upwards from here!

Mon eh ton!!
