Morton v Queens Park

Imrie’s post-match interviews are always tragic. He really needs to take the blinkers off and stop kidding himself on.

Maybe if the guy doing the interviews asked the questions we are all asking on here instead of the same shite after every game but we all know that won't happen.

Probably because it’s his job to show Morton in the best possible light, not to grill the manager. That’s how club media works, and isn’t exclusive to Morton.

I think it's safe to assume that what Dougie says in front of the camera in the post-match interviews is very different from what he says in the dressing room and on the training pitch. I wouldn't expect him to say 'aye, we were shite' in public, so I wouldn't get too wound up about it.

Pre and post-match interviews from pretty much all managers and coaches the world over are just a regurgitation of banal soundbites, you very rarely get anything insightful or even remotely interesting from them. Dougie is no different.

Imrie certainly circles the wagons at times but he also calls out poor individual performances - and he said recently that some players seem to be getting complacent and it's time to shake things up.

The roaring success of our 'minerals' strategy might limit that ability in certain positions, but all the current, entitled wee dauphin figures of Moffat, Lyall and McGinn could and should be getting called out right now*. They are hiding as soon as we go behind and are entirely replaceable even in our current squad. If they're not getting called out and then playing a major role again 3-4 days later then the manager's judgment is quite clear. It is wrong though and he needs to reconsider instead of persisting with an experiment that is failing.

*as should Garrity, though he's not immune from Imrie's flak.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are
