dunning1874
While Queen's Park are such a state off the park that it might be harsh to pin their recruitment on him, the mess Davidson made of recruitment at St Johnstone would make me very wary of going near him when we need a manager to overachieve relative to our budget just to avoid relegation. He built a ridiculously bloated squad with utter crap on long-term contracts and his solution was always making more and more signings rather than showing any aptitude in improving the players he already had, which has been Imrie’s biggest strength as manager. Davidson did well enough improving them after taking over last season to see that he's clearly not a hopeless manager, but he has some major flaws all the same and he's not half the manager Imrie is. 1 Brian Wake my Lord, Brian Wake Brian Wake my Lord, Brian Wake Brian Wake my Lord, Brian Wake Oh Lord, Brian Wake
Stevie Aitken's Love Child
Dunfermline have bagged Tidser already! 8 games he got. Shambles at that club.
Alibi
8 games? Wow, that must be something of a record. Once they pay off his contract he'll probably be on a record amount of money received for each game played with him in charge. Scott
That’s a nightmare for him. Fair enough his record since joining is terrible but think their problems run far deeper than the management team.
RossMcC1874
Another crazy decision by a bin fire of a club. I was quite surprised when he got the job not saying he isn't up to the standard but considering they were in a relegation fight I thought they might have gone for more experience but giving him only 8 games is extremely harsh. HamCam
The Dunfermline fans turned on Tidser because of recent results, his dogmatic sideways passing style of football and his willingness to throw players under the bus accepting no blame for the results. The problem clearly lies with the powers that be who appointed Tidser in the first place. If rumours are to believed this insanity has cost Dunfermline the best part of £200k in compensation to Kelty and now Tidser. There is also talk of Davidson being in the frame until the end of the season. Talk about re-arranging deckchairs on the Titanic. Ferguson
I’m a bit of an advocate for giving managers time but whenever the camera cut to Tidser on Friday night he was slumped in his chair scratching his head while his team put in one of the most inept performances I’ve seen in a while. Should never have been in that position in the first place, but surely it would’ve been cheaper and more logical to just appoint an experienced assistant to see the season through as we did with Peter Houston. Don’t really see who wins with that decision.
Jamie_M
Throwing a manager with a philosophy and set style of play into a relegation battle with a group of players incapable of doing it was always going to end well. Add in Tidser throwing the players under the bus, taking no responsibility and even shirking the interviews at the weekend due to a 'lost voice' and the fact the fans had turned on him massively already - it was never going to last. Still surprising they had the conviction to pull the trigger so early. Lasted almost as long as it took them to negotiate his appointment, and worked out almost as well as his big dream move to Falkirk.

TRVMP
Wrong man for the wrong club. I can't see him working above PT level again as a manager. He seems to do alright in a lower-pressure environment but he looked lost at East End.

It sounds like he was adamant on sticking to a philosophy despite it never working, perhaps given a full summer transfer window and time to bed in it might work better for him in the future. SpoonTon
There's something about the whole thing that reminds me of Ian Cathro's time at Hearts. They didn't like the way he talked and he couldn't get his approach to work on the pitch straight away, so that was that.

If you dinghy speaking to the press and you sit there with your head in your hands while your team gets battered then I don't think you have any right to stick to a philosophy. He can bank that money alongside the cash he got for being a Morton player for half a season without getting to kick a ball. Looked totally out of his depth on Friday night and not talking to Pars TV after the game (despite talking to BBC Scotland) suggested he knew it was over. McGhee needs some support, there's no-one backing him up. Hayes playing it forward, Bell being forced to do it all alone, now forward from Marr, here's Ritchie, still Andy Ritchie, look at the control... That is a marvellous goal from Andy Ritchie. Twenty minutes on the clock and Morton's supporters come alive. A goal which epitomises the control, the arrogance, the cheek of Andy Ritchie.
