RossMcC1874 Posted July 8, 2024 Posted July 8, 2024 Tuesday night with the euros on tele it's never going to be a massive crowd, we are playing them so it will bring out a few neutrals possibly and if the weather is good which it should be that might help. Like Mr Blue was saying £18 for a pre season game seems a bit steep should be reduced IMO to attract a slightly bigger crowd.

I've just realised it's st mirren tomorrow night. £18 for a derby that is a pale imitation of what it used to be is scandalous. Glad I'm on holiday tbh. "CORNBEEF IS A BELLEND"
Alibi Posted July 9, 2024 Posted July 9, 2024 £8.99 for the stream. Might consider that and watch Spain v France at the same time. Can’t see a big crowd turning out with a potentially great game on the tv. dunning1874 Posted July 9, 2024 Posted July 9, 2024 I know I'm not really the target audience here because I'm in the minority who doesn't bother going to friendlies with St Mirren even if it's a reasonable price and doesn't clash with anything, but the scheduling of this really is mad. Even though I'd rather we didn't have competitive derbies cheapened by these friendlies I totally understand why both clubs want to do it, if you can get a crowd of 3000+ in and make money off a friendly then you can see the logic, but playing the same night as a European Championship semi-final they'll be lucky to see a crowd of 1000. Scott Posted July 9, 2024 Posted July 9, 2024 At least the pitch won’t be a problem tonight with all the rain today.
Stevie Aitken's Love Child Posted July 9, 2024 Posted July 9, 2024 Haven't been to any of the pre-season games, not that unusual for me really. I really only went along to the St Mirren game last year out of curiosity to see the GOAT Brandon Diau. Will likely give tonight a miss as well. £18 for a pre season friendly is a bit of a kick in the teeth really, and we shouldn't be playing friendlies against them anyway.
port-ton Posted July 9, 2024 Posted July 9, 2024 Won’t be going tonight. Can’t justify £18 for a friendly. Will buy the stream to still give the club some money as I’m interested in seeing more of the new players but I think they’ve possibly overestimated the interest in a Renfrew derby friendly if they didn’t think that price would put a lot of people off. Good people will do good things, bad people will do bad things, but only with religion do good people do bad things!

Not in completely meaningless and utter dung pre-season friendlies, no. The places to be at this time of year to attract supporters to games are in fact Arran, Campbeltown and Eriskay in consecutive matches. The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before.. So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are
TONofmemories Posted July 9, 2024 Posted July 9, 2024 Personally zero interest in going. I don't want to play them again until it's a meaningful game. This friendly pish just further dilutes and already diluted fixture TIME FOR CHANGE!
TRVMP Posted July 9, 2024 Posted July 9, 2024 Broadfoot in ahead of Baird, Wilson on the bench, just the one trialist. Morton
Chesh Posted July 9, 2024 Posted July 9, 2024 The desicion to offer broadfoot a contract looks worse and worse. At fault for both goals tonight, he's finished. Im making perfect sense, your just not keeping up.My Twitter - https://twitter.com/RJChesh
mcintyre_gmfc Posted July 9, 2024 Posted July 9, 2024 Broadfoot ragdolled for both goals here, the midfield posted missing so far, only Lyall willing to put his foot on the ball. This could be embarrassing.

TRVMP Posted July 9, 2024 Posted July 9, 2024 We've looked alright going forward but playing a high line is costing us. Broadfoot towing a caravan. Morton
Deego Posted July 9, 2024 Posted July 9, 2024 Blues looking (rightly) a bit bewildered at the half time boos…
Chesh Posted July 9, 2024 Posted July 9, 2024 Broadfoot is defeating the purpose of the high press by not being able to win the high long balls the attackers are forcing. Needs binned. Im making perfect sense, your just not keeping up.My Twitter - https://twitter.com/RJChesh
